The band in this video were miming playing the instruments and the sound was from the studio version. Later in the same concert a live band came on stage to play the last 5 songs. If you want to see a true live performance from this same show with the live band you should watch Headbanger, th-cam.com/video/QEsOaMbNFww/w-d-xo.html Babymetal have been going for 10 years this year, their third album, Metal Galaxy released last year, was the first by any Asian band to top the Billboard rock charts. They were formed as a cross between J-Pop and Metal, Kawaii-metal and have a whole load of different sounds up their sleeve, this was way on the poppy side of their catalogue.
I concur. Road of Resistance is mind blowing. The heaviest thing they've probably done is Sis Anger. The video will get insta blocked though, so just listen at your leisure. Enjoy.
There's definetly better BABYMETAL videos/songs but this one is usually the one that gets people to be "WTF" for a minute or two after watching this. Usually reactors get hooked on the next one or two videos when it gets a little more interesting and you understand how well this gels together :). Have a great journey down the fox hole my friend, will be watching your fall with close attention ;).
Yup. As someone who's listened to Babymetal for about 5 years (and I mean virtually all waking hours, lol) it sinks my heart somewhat when a new reactor picks 'Gimme Chocolate' as the first thing to sample. But I guess it's just a 'right of passage' that you need to go through. (It's the first BM song I heard too, so who am I to judge.) The main thing to bear in mind (and this can't be stated heavily enough) is that apart from the 'Heavy' slant, each song will surprise you in a new way. They are so diverse that the OED is thinking of changing the definition of 'diverse' to; "A bit like Babymetal songs."* I can think of a few songs that are vaguely similar, but this is after thousands of hours of listening. So by all means go through the usual progression of 'Gimme Chocolate', 'Road of Resistance', 'Ijime,Dame,Zettai', 'Iine' etc. But constantly bear in mind that however good each new song is, it differs from what has come before. Because that's just amazing, IMO. * I might have made this up.
Actually any of their song could be the hook for first reaction. But for those who react the first time and doesn't stop there and continue for other song is the real mvp
as a musician, i think your gonna love this journey you've started. once you get into them, your gonna realize just how serious the playing, writing and production quality is. not to mention that their one of the very best live band's touring today...
> "That choreography is disturbing." "Distracting" is the word! It often makes it very hard to actually watch the reactor's reaction. And I'm speaking from experience... LOL > "I cannot understand the lyrics." This is one fo their more funny songs with more or less trivial lyrics. Though many of their songs have an undertone to the lyrics opening them for interpretations (this song is no exception)... It's basically about a girl that badly wants to eat chocolate but is very concerned about gaining too much weight. > "In Japanese anime is a lot of metal/hard rock in the intros." In my experience, it depends much on the genre and target audience. Metal and hard rock is mainly used with titles that are mainly or entirely produced for male tennagers or young male adults. > "I'm looking forward to checking out some more." That's something you definitely should do for several reasons. And I definitely recommend concentrating on their live stuff, because BABYMETAL ist best experienced live! Though it doesn't hurt to watch one or another MV. My recommendations for the start are: *"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html *"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK th-cam.com/video/qXF94RGYEmw/w-d-xo.html *"Rondo of Nightmare"* live at Nippon Budokan in 2014 th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html *"Syncopation"* live video compilation th-cam.com/video/uZ11JUZM8V0/w-d-xo.html *"Road of Resistance"* live at Saitama Super Arena in 2015 th-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/w-d-xo.html *"Shanti Shanti Shanti"* live at Glastonbury Festival 2019 in the UK th-cam.com/video/w5AlEavdipA/w-d-xo.html
"I cannot understand the lyrics." This always an interesting point, a lot of rock/metal I like I can't understand what the vocalists says/sings in a lot of cases. :-)
When was the last time a Metal song made you smile like this? This is the most important thing about BABYMETAL, they are just crazy fun. Yes, the chorus is very catchy and poppy, but you can't deny that this is still Metal, can you? The song is pretty simple, but you'll see that their is great variety in their catalogue. You'll also find other genres mixed into the Po and Metal. And the great thing is, somehow it always works. No idea how they do that. And then there's the heartwarming smiles and general positivity. You hardly ever get that with other Metal bands. Once you've seen them play with a real live band (as others havealready explained), you'll know what they are really about: Presenting the most complete package you can imagine to their crowds, who gladly participate. It's a joy to watch and an even bigger one to be part of. I love this band!
It's unfortunate that this is always people's intro to them. They've matured musically even within their first album, and more so in their two follow ups. Tons of songs, tons of styles, and tons of skill and metal. In my opinion this is nowhere NEAR the top of their catalogue, but its a staple and fans love the part of the choreography where Moa likes to mess with Su and poke her head or pinch her ear towards the end. Kind of a running joke now. As others have suggested, Road of Resistance Live in Japan, Headbanger from legend 1997, or if you REALLY want the polar opposite of this.... Babymetal DEATH Legend 1997...
Everyone has their own tastes. IMHO Gimme Chocolate is the archetypal BABYMETAL song and the one most responsible for their global success. I also think their first album was their best, although all three are excellent.
@@Singulitarian yeah I definitely love the first album, some of my favorites are on it, and you're right that GC is what went viral and got them some attention. I guess for me though at least for daily listening, it wouldn't be at the top, but that's the fun. There's so much variety that everyone has their own favorites
@@Singulitarian Megitsune imho is the best intro. it shares the "cute" aspect from Gimme Chocolate while being more representative of their overall style and skills.
@@ChipnChep Possibly, but not supported by anything other than opinion. When surveys are done of new fans, GC is where the story usually starts. I've heard a lot of CMIYC from metalheads too, but rarely Megitsune. Now, I think Megitsune is the best song and music video, but I've also tried it unsuccessfully to suck people in.
when BABYMETAL knock your door you better open it because you will be missing a lot of surprise from these girls. BABYMETAL Universe is very vast you just open the first gate , the next gate and forward will even surprise you more if you decide continuing this journey and for now enjoy your time with BABYMETAL.
Rondo of Nightmare with mischief of metal gods next please, you gonna love the baking band and the vocals of Su-Metal, also in babymetal EVERY song is different. Expect the unexpected
I am so glad that you liked this! This song even divides us fans; although I am a huge fan, I maintain that if this was the first song I heard by them, I wouldn't have continued to listening to them, much to my own loss. Almost all their songs sound different though. This group and their excellent session musicians (collectively known as the Kami Band) are even better live. I'd definitely recommend any of the performances listed by Darkside. Also, I appreciate your set-up. The illumination and depth of field are wonderful (even if the camera was little off focus sometimes). I really like when TH-camrs take the time to make such aesthetically pleasing set-ups. Also, thank you for giving your opinion! Sometimes reactors just kind of sign off without really saying anything lol.
"I maintain that if this was the first song I heard by them, I wouldn't have continued to listening to them" many current Babymetal fans actually ignored them for years after only seeing (even part of) Gimme Chocolate
Hi and welcome to BABYMETAL world. This official video mixes visuals from Legend 1997 concert back in December 21st , 2013 with the studio track. So it's not a live performance. Also the instrumental of this song was played from a backing track while while SU-METAL (the lead singer) is singing live. The support live band (called Kami Band) played later that night during a five songs encore. So those guys in skeleton costumes (babybones) are miming playing instruments (they were so good). The Kami Band fully replaced babybones by March 1st, 2014 (Budokan Red Night). You need to see their live performances, so here are my suggestions. The first one is from the same concert as "Gimme choko" (but this time with full live band), and the other one is one of my favorites and given the fact you are literally surrounded by guitars I find it appropriate :) Headbanger (Live Legend 1997): th-cam.com/video/QEsOaMbNFww/w-d-xo.html Akatsuki (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html Enjoy!
Babymetal always puts a smile on your face. Nothing like them and they are different using so many genres with metal. One of the best live performing acts in the world.
Great reaction!. I'm not going into any further detail regarding Babymetal because there will be a horde of Babymetal army coming your way with tons of informations. If your next Babymetal reaction got blocked, please don't put them to waste. Just upload it somewhere else (reactorhub or anywhere) and give us the link to it here on your channel. You would still get your view count and likes, while we Babymetal fans still get to enjoy your reaction to them. Babymetal is best enjoyed live. Their MV are good but their live performance are more than great.
I don't usually recommend Choco first, just because it really invites the criticism, but I'm glad you're here. As several others recommended, Road of Resistance, Live in Japan is much more epic. Just be sure to pause a bit, it has a rep for getting blocked.
Good reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL galaxy. I'm glad you liked this one, that bodes very well for when you get onto real live performances of their better songs ... Gimme Chocolate is good fun, but it gets recommended most for the "WTF" reaction it can get from a lot of people. It is definitely a long way towards the 'Jpop' side of what BABYMETAL do. Ignore the haters and metal elitists who dismiss BABYMETAL as a gimmick - they are blinkered and wrong and their reasoning is nearly always skewed and based on misinformation or ignorance. BABYMETAL have effectively torn up the 'trve metal' rule book ... and going against the establishment is what metal is all about after all. This video has footage from a live show in December 2013 but it has the studio audio - which is a shame as they sound better live, especially Su-metal's vocals which are not treated to the over-processing and compression they seem to insist on doing in the studio. The whole concept and idea of BABYMETAL was formed entirely around her vocal talents and the stage presence and talents of the three girls (now two, but that is a long story) The 'musicians' in the skeleton suits in this video were called Babybones and they were a fake band who would mime to a backing track (the singing was live of course) during Babymetal's early performances (no pretence, everybody knew what they were) ... they appeared at just two more shows in Singapore and Taiwan after this one. In some festival appearances and for the encores in some live shows from October 2012 BABYMETAL were supported by a live band made up of some of Japan's very best session musicians - they came on for the last 5 songs of this show too. They have been the full time support in all live shows ever since early 2014. They are the Kami Band (Kami = God or Spirit and they are the Gods of guitar, bass and drums). You will recognise them when you see them from their white burial robes and corpse face paint (now replaced by black robes and masks, but that is another long story). The more you delve into their catalogue the more you will be surprised at just how varied it is. They play virtually every metal genre (thrash, speed, power, black, death, folk, pirate, prog etc) then blend in countless other musical styles and genres (ska, reggae, EDM, dub step, hip hop, rap, Bollywood, Latin and more) often when you least expect it. I'm looking forward to whatever you react to next, there are no bad songs, no fillers ... and pretty much every song is somebody's favourite, that is one thing Babymetal fans can't always agree on. I would suggest 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (it means 'Bullying, No More For Ever') live at Sonisphere in the UK for your next reaction - this was their first appearance at a major event outside of Asia and they opened the main stage in front of 50-60,000 UK metalheads (with a reputation for throwing bottles and worse at bands they didn't like). They were virtually unknown, it was their first time in the UK, they didn't speak more than a couple of words of English - and they were aged just 16 and 15. This was the last song of the 5 they played ... see the crowd response at the end for yourself.
I've felt down deeply in the Fox hole not too long ago and I'm now at the stage to watch all the video reactions out there ^_^; I've seeing your comments in all of them (along @Rick Wagner and @Steffen Jachnow too) and I would like to thank all of you for them: I learnt a lot of BabyMetal's background and lore thanks to you guys! And to @Lewis Texidor, Great reaction... looking forward your next!
@@martinlaursen4020 I prefer to think enthusiast. I appreciate all sorts of different music, I like many different bands and artists from many genres and I try not to knock, dismiss or bad-mouth the ones that don't appeal to me so much.
Funny that you were talking about the Harmonizing Leads as the Babymetal band is pretty well known for their use of Duel Lead Guitar work in a large majority of their discography. You will hear it more in some of their other work and see it when you watch the Kami Band play live. The players in this fake band behind our girls were actors. They were called "Babybones" and were just miming playing and the girls were singing to a back-track. Actually, this video was post-produced with the studio music dubbed over the video though Suzuka did sing this live at this concert. And this was the last show with "Babybones" as the "Kami Band" or 'Spirit/God Band' has played live with Babymetal ever since. Thanks for the reaction and... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
They grow on you, I as a lifetime metal head did not give them a chance at first, then I decided to expand my horizons and, I was pleasantly surprised. There are other heavier songs, Karate, Distortion, Akatsuki, Metsugine, etc. The backing band is amazing as I'm sure you could hear on that track. Also their concerts specially the ones in Japan look amazing, it is a complete show on par with the best bands worldwide.
Not possessed by Satan but by the Fox God, and certainly not evil. BabyMetal is not out to damn you, but to bring you joy and happiness. That is why some metalheads cannot abide BabyMetal because metal should not be fun. However, judging from BabyMetal's phenomenal worldwide success, it seems that goodness will win out in the end.
Americans really perfected and brought out every genre of metal possibly and too see some of their biggest bands step up and defend baby metal and take pictures with them makes me happy
Thanks for your reaction/review, I liked it a lot, I think it's gonna be a good journey into the Babymetal fox hole... I'll suggest Babymetal Akatsuki Budokan, you might like that. When you see it, I'm certain you'll know what I meant. :-)
Very good reaction. You have good insights that were quite interesting to me. I watch a lot of reactors watch Babymetal, and it's not often someone grabs me enough to go watch the rest of their stuff. I will with you, though. People will tell you to do Road of Resistance, and you should, I think that the perfect one for you to do next. Fair warning though, that one gets blocked most of the time.
Good reaction mate. And yes - every their song is completely different each to another. Try Tamashii No Rufuran and show it to your students - this is opening from Neon Evangelion.
Rondo of Nightmare (with gods of mischief intro) and Road of Resistance are going to be the popular requests, but Akatsuki live black night would be an amazing reaction. I'm sure this has been said, but that wasn't the actual band. They learned very shortly after this performance that they are WAY better having the actual band play live. Great reaction.
Tip for Babymetal: always listen to the live versions of the songs. They're one of those groups that sound a million times better live than in recordings. They draw power from the crowd and their energy will make a performance complete. As for song recommendations... I'll give you a little list - Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) - Ijime Dame Zettai (Sonisphere 2014) - Headbanger (legend 1997) - Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro - Death (legend 1997) (although wait a little with this one until you've heard more)
I took them as a funny Kawai joke when they came out... and now I think they have the tightest live metal show in the world, some of the most interesting and varied repertoire, and the Kami band is just out of this world... little by little, they really turn me into a Babymetal addict :-D
As someone who also considers Mikael Akerfeldt as one of their heroes. My guess is that Rondo of Nightmare live is probably the video that would most increase your appreciation for this band.
Fun facts about this song: 1. Named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years. 2. KORN frontman Jonathan Davis joined them on stage and played with their band to this song. 3. The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed this song with the girls 4. The girls joined Skrillex in performing this song. 5. Metallica likes to sing and dance to this song back stage with the girls between acts at music festivals. Corey Taylor of Slipknot was recently interviewed and they asked him who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal"
I am also looking forward to you checking out some more Babymetal. In fact, I can't wait! Please check out Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischiefs of God intro, Road of Resistance, Headbanger etc and keep in mind that live Babymetal is best Babymetal, so try to stick to the live videos. Thanks!
Right about 3:00 you see that expression that most people have listening to Babymetal for the first time. It's a mix of confusion, surprise and enjoyment. It's the reason I watch Babymetal reactions :)
Nice to get some comments during/after the song. Like others said, you're in for quite a ride. Yes, their songs are different from one to another. From the 25 ish I've discovered in 3 months, no real copy paste 😊 Many suggested songs, I won't really add much to the list but usual songs reacted to, after this one are Headbanger (live makuhari Messe) Road of resistance live in Japan Akatsuki live in Budokan black night Megitsune (live is fine but I also like the MV) Rondo of nightmare with mischiefs of God intro live ijime Dame zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 (their international breakthrough) And if ppl still say it's not metal enough, Babymetal Death live legend 1997 😂 Also, talking about anime openings, one song comes to mind, which is Distortion (MV is cool too) There are 50 ish songs, plenty of material. Enjoy your journey in the foxhole, looking forward to next ones 😉
if you want to see the full potential of the kami-band, defenetly check out "Tales of Destinies". It shows the perfect composition and masterful skill of the musicians better than any other of their songs. They don't have a video for that song and live performances are mostly poor quality and hard to find. So here's the audio: th-cam.com/video/w6dXuBUrS7k/w-d-xo.html
Babymetal is my favorite band! It started with Gimme Chocolate in 2012 and recently I rediscovered them again and promptly fell in love with them! Even bought a Babymetal shirt and everything! Totally recommend Headbanger, BxMxC... I have a lot more I can recommend but it'll be basically almost all of their songs rofl.
Hey Lewis! Good reaction! Thanks for checking out my favorite band BABYMETAL! The group mixes j-pop vocals with heavy metal music, something that you would think just wouldn't work but it does! The name is actually a play on words, in Japanese heavy metal is written like: ヘビーメタル (hebii metaru), but if you add just two marks to the first character it changes into: ベビーメタル (bebii metaru), or BABYMETAL! It's meant to signify the birth of a new kind of heavy metal music. This video was the studio audio played over the live performance. The skeleton suit wearing musicians in the background are called "Babybones" by the fans and they're just miming, but ever since this performance the girls have been backed by the absolute metal masters of the Kami Band. Normally "Gimmie Chocolate" isn't the song I would recommend for someones first exposure to the group as it's the one I first saw and dismissed them as a gimmick until I rediscovered them about a year later. If I had seen one of their other songs I think I would have been a fan right from the start! Anyways, they're one of the few bands today which are much better live, so here are some live performances: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" - Live Sonisphere UK 2014 - th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html - Title translates to "Bullying, No good, Absolutely". This was their first big show in the west. They originally booked a small side stage however the organizers bumped them up to the main stage due to the buzz they were generating. The girls were scared that the UK metal heads would throw bottles at them. "Rondo of Nightmare" with Mischiefs of the Metal Gods Intro live Budokan Black Night - th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html - This is a Su-Metal (lead singer) solo, but it really shows off the absolute metal masters of their backing band: the Kami Band. "Road of Resistance" - Live Saitama Super Arena 2015 - th-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/w-d-xo.html - This is how BABYMETAL ends an arena show.
I'm glad you like them! Babymetal is a treat and I think with every album they've gotten heavier and developed so much as a band. 💗 Shanti Shanti, Kagerou, and Night Night Burn are STANDOUTS of their most recent album. They're all so good. 💖
What you said about the instrumentals, The short explanation is: 'foreign' music was outlawed, But then Japan went wild for everything foreign And it all became a beautiful mess With blues songs in a different key And punk-rockers making metal music.
I get what you mean about not understanding the lyrics being a plus. I love metal, but most of the lyrics in english songs are pretty cringy. This is a fine intro song, but they get way better. This was technically not live, it was the studio track played over a live performance with pantomime band members on drums and guitars. They are much better live. Your next video *should* be Road Of Resistance Live in Japan, but that one's been getting a lot of takedown requests, so maybe Karate@Download instead: th-cam.com/video/qXF94RGYEmw/w-d-xo.html
First reaction is always confusion or cuties, but if you aren't stuck with the 80s norms of metal, you just can't explain why you can't stop hearing them. Stay metal stay cute stay baby metal ❤️

@jacktheripped I'm sure you watched 'all music' and made a judgement on that too. Well done you. /pat
jacktheripped well that’s a very predator like thing to say 😼
@@Varksterable Lol my first was gimme chocolate and ever since then I've loved all their songs
as a musician, i think your gonna love this journey you've started. once you get into them, your gonna realize just how serious the playing, writing and production quality is. not to mention that their one of the very best live band's touring today...
> "That choreography is disturbing."
"Distracting" is the word! It often makes it very hard to actually watch the reactor's reaction. And I'm speaking from experience... LOL
> "I cannot understand the lyrics."
This is one fo their more funny songs with more or less trivial lyrics. Though many of their songs have an undertone to the lyrics opening them for interpretations (this song is no exception)... It's basically about a girl that badly wants to eat chocolate but is very concerned about gaining too much weight.
> "In Japanese anime is a lot of metal/hard rock in the intros."
In my experience, it depends much on the genre and target audience. Metal and hard rock is mainly used with titles that are mainly or entirely produced for male tennagers or young male adults.
> "I'm looking forward to checking out some more."
That's something you definitely should do for several reasons. And I definitely recommend concentrating on their live stuff, because BABYMETAL ist best experienced live! Though it doesn't hurt to watch one or another MV. My recommendations for the start are:
*"Ijime, Dame, Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 in the UK th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html
*"Karate"* live at Download Festival 2016 in the UK th-cam.com/video/qXF94RGYEmw/w-d-xo.html

*"Shanti Shanti Shanti"* live at Glastonbury Festival 2019 in the UK th-cam.com/video/w5AlEavdipA/w-d-xo.html
Please update your link for _Rondo of Nightmare_ to th-cam.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/w-d-xo.html, the one that you provided is gone unfortunately.
"I cannot understand the lyrics."
This always an interesting point, a lot of rock/metal I like I can't understand what the vocalists says/sings in a lot of cases. :-)
Yes.check this one out.Babymetal is good performer
@@FastWa1ker Thanks for the hint.
Hai guys don't forget to my channel, i do reaction babymetal too so you can watch in my youtube thanks guys, love you all guys
@@kebobs3727 GC isn't a song I listen to much sitting at home. Still live at a concert GC is a different experience, I love it there.
This song grew in me right away
when BABYMETAL knock your door you better open it because you will be missing a lot of surprise from these girls.
Mmm, I love baking!
looks like 'me love you long time' for chocolate. catch me if you can has some good solos. think its compilation.
"BABYMETAL DEATH" is very heavy, it used to be their opener
Hai guys don't forget to my channel, i do reaction babymetal too so you can watch in my youtube thanks guys, love you all guys
gonna subscribe. couple of request. ill let you know in your latest video.
just me thought he was pew die pie?
Dude the live version of catch me if you can with the into solos is sick.
You have no idea what you've gotten yourself into.
"I maintain that if this was the first song I heard by them, I wouldn't have continued to listening to them"
many current Babymetal fans actually ignored them for years after only seeing (even part of) Gimme Chocolate
@@autohmae
That's me. And I regret it big time.
The first one is from the same concert as "Gimme choko" (but this time with full live band), and the other one is one of my favorites and given the fact you are literally surrounded by guitars I find it appropriate :)
Headbanger (Live Legend 1997): th-cam.com/video/QEsOaMbNFww/w-d-xo.html
Akatsuki (Live at Budokan Black Night): th-cam.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/w-d-xo.html
Enjoy!
Just be sure to pause a bit, it has a rep for getting blocked.
i fuckin love babymetal
BABYMETAL!! Legend of 1997 Headbanger LIVE!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They are awesome and unique. They bring joy. What a fantastic legacy.
The whole concept and idea of BABYMETAL was formed entirely around her vocal talents and the stage presence and talents of the three girls (now two, but that is a long story)
The 'musicians' in the skeleton suits in this video were called Babybones and they were a fake band who would mime to a backing track (the singing was live of course) during Babymetal's early performances (no pretence, everybody knew what they were) ... they appeared at just two more shows in Singapore and Taiwan after this one.
I've felt down deeply in the Fox hole not too long ago and I'm now at the stage to watch all the video reactions out there ^_^;
I've seeing your comments in all of them (along @Rick Wagner and @Steffen Jachnow too) and I would like to thank all of you for them: I learnt a lot of BabyMetal's background and lore thanks to you guys!
And to @Lewis Texidor, Great reaction... looking forward your next!
Lmao. You sound like an 'elitist' yourself.
@@martinlaursen4020 I prefer to think enthusiast. I appreciate all sorts of different music, I like many different bands and artists from many genres and I try not to knock, dismiss or bad-mouth the ones that don't appeal to me so much.
@@Grington300 Apart from Dexys Midnight Runners. You hate them 😂
@@slaphead55 🤣Maybe, but I don't watch any videos involving them, so I don't leave comments saying what I think.😜
Po!
Welcome to d Foxhole. Next:
Headbanger (Live at Makuhare Messe - Legend of 1997).
Kitsune up...!!!
start with: gimme chocolate --> road of resistence --> rondo of nightmare --> pa pa ya = babymetal fan
I have to thank this guy.
Because of your video, I've discover babymetal and now it's my favorite band.
Also their concerts specially the ones in Japan look amazing, it is a complete show on par with the best bands worldwide.
they are my all😔👉👈💖💖💖💖💖
Not possessed by Satan but by the Fox God, and certainly not evil.
Fair warning though, that one gets blocked most of the time.
road of resistance
The army has been summoned by posting this video. You’re in for a ride my dude. Can’t wait to see you go down this foxhole. Stay Metal 🤘🦊🤘
Babymetal give different types of vibe, this is only one, and there are others to discover!
Good reaction mate.
And yes - every their song is completely different each to another.
Try Tamashii No Rufuran and show it to your students - this is opening from Neon Evangelion.
HEADBANGER!!!!, live 1997
Rondo of Nightmare (with gods of mischief intro) and Road of Resistance are going to be the popular requests, but Akatsuki live black night would be an amazing reaction. I'm sure this has been said, but that wasn't the actual band. They learned very shortly after this performance that they are WAY better having the actual band play live. Great reaction.
Tip for Babymetal: always listen to the live versions of the songs. They're one of those groups that sound a million times better live than in recordings. They draw power from the crowd and their energy will make a performance complete.
As for song recommendations... I'll give you a little list
- Road of Resistance (Live in Japan)
- Ijime Dame Zettai (Sonisphere 2014)
- Headbanger (legend 1997)
- Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro
- Death (legend 1997) (although wait a little with this one until you've heard more)
6:23 100% agree
It only gets better from here! Keep these Babymetal videos coming!
I took them as a funny Kawai joke when they came out... and now I think they have the tightest live metal show in the world, some of the most interesting and varied repertoire, and the Kami band is just out of this world... little by little, they really turn me into a Babymetal addict :-D
I like that you didn't stop it every 30 seconds. You allowed it to play and you absorbed it as a whole, in its entirety. Well done.
As someone who also considers Mikael Akerfeldt as one of their heroes. My guess is that Rondo of Nightmare live is probably the video that would most increase your appreciation for this band.
Fun facts about this song:
1. Named one of the most important metal songs of the last 10 years.
2. KORN frontman Jonathan Davis joined them on stage and played with their band to this song.
3. The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed this song with the girls
4. The girls joined Skrillex in performing this song.
5. Metallica likes to sing and dance to this song back stage with the girls between acts at music festivals.
Corey Taylor of Slipknot was recently interviewed and they asked him who he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal"
Awesome group, smart marketing...killing it!! remember 1997 & 1999. their birth yrs
Thanks!
MORE BABY METAL PLEASE !!!!!
i still maintain my position that whoever pitch for the creation of this was was a bloody genius
I recommend "Babymetal - Road of Resistance Live in Japan" :D
Another Japanese Band I would recommend reacting to is Band Maid, a few of their songs you could check out is Play(live), Thrill, or Dice
If only you knew what happens to that statue at the end of that concert. Check out the Babymetal Death Live Legend 1997 video to see.
Hey hey, throwing in my vote for Babymetal - Karate (official) mv
Right about 3:00 you see that expression that most people have listening to Babymetal for the first time.
It's a mix of confusion, surprise and enjoyment. It's the reason I watch Babymetal reactions :)
Nice to get some comments during/after the song. Like others said, you're in for quite a ride.
Yes, their songs are different from one to another. From the 25 ish I've discovered in 3 months, no real copy paste 😊
Many suggested songs, I won't really add much to the list but usual songs reacted to, after this one are
Headbanger (live makuhari Messe)
Road of resistance live in Japan
Akatsuki live in Budokan black night
Megitsune (live is fine but I also like the MV)
Rondo of nightmare with mischiefs of God intro live
ijime Dame zettai live at Sonisphere 2014 (their international breakthrough)
And if ppl still say it's not metal enough, Babymetal Death live legend 1997 😂
Also, talking about anime openings, one song comes to mind, which is Distortion (MV is cool too)
There are 50 ish songs, plenty of material.
Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischief's of Gods intro (the intro version is a must) 🦊
Anyways, they're one of the few bands today which are much better live, so here are some live performances:
"Ijime, Dame, Zettai" - Live Sonisphere UK 2014 - th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html - Title translates to "Bullying, No good, Absolutely".
Maybe check out the group PassCode. Specifically the song Taking You Out since that seems to be that song that most people freak out over.
Hi there. Watch all of Babymetal it's great. I am a 66 year old lady and I love it. Bang on yaaaa,! Take care and God bless.
the choreograph is the reason why I can't look away. Its crazy, I want to look away but I can't AHAHHA ROCK ON BABYMETAL
The lyrics are actually quite simple: I want chocolate, give me chocolate, chocolate. And I love it lol.
I'm glad you like them! Babymetal is a treat and I think with every album they've gotten heavier and developed so much as a band. 💗 Shanti Shanti, Kagerou, and Night Night Burn are STANDOUTS of their most recent album. They're all so good. 💖
The moment you said the word "playas" I hit pause, wrote this comment, and left your life forever.
Karate and Road of Resistance are my two favs. The lead singer Su is a very good singer. I live PaPaYa a lot as well.
I love the background music.
headbanger live, shanti shanti shanti, syncopation (compilation) and BxMxC live are really good watches
More BabyMetal please...
What you said about the instrumentals,
The short explanation is:
'foreign' music was outlawed,
But then Japan went wild for everything foreign
And it all became a beautiful mess
With blues songs in a different key
And punk-rockers making metal music.
Love how babymetal still gets first time reactions
Stay metal stay cute stay baby metal ❤️

if only there was some sign from his room that he's into music..

You should listen to theier song Megitsune, this song though really is basically give me your love, because handmade chocolates are given to girls on the holiday White Day, but it's also like "I am hard, give me your chocolate, but I will only give you a little bit of my heart because you triedso hard making this chocolate"
Damn you reacted to all my Stans. Big Bang, 2NE1 and of course BabyMetal. You get my Sub my dude.
Please react to Pa pa ya by Babymetal next. They pretty much evolved a lot since then ^^
I appreciate the restraint you showed at the end of the video, you didn't go and watch every other single Babymetal video you could see. Like I do.
