@Honk Honkler Yea, the crowd in Copenhagen was more or less completely uninterested when they did their set, it totaly killed the mood. And on top of that the sound mix was a bit off, couldn't really hear the singing clearly, and they completely lost sound mid through one of the songs. 😕
@@allegorical Sure, that wasn't my expectation, but the crowd being completely dead is silly too. You can cheer a band on even if you haven't heard them before, thats just manners! 😁
Excellent first reaction and analysis - welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊I'm glad you saw through the shock factor of this song. It wouldn't have been my recommendation for a first listen as the main reason this video does have so many views is that shock factor with the brutal metal instrumentals and overly sweet JPop vocals clashing - deliberately so in this song, but it is great fun at live shows. They have about 60 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre (thrash, nu-metal, djent, black and death metal, Prog, folk, power/speed etc) and they will mix or blend in so many other musical styles and genres with the metal - not just JPop, you will find Latin, Bollywood, reggae, ska, EDM, trance, Finnish polka ... actually you name it they have probably done it. Yes they have choreo for every song - and it is bespoke for every song serving two real purposes (unlike the choreo you may associate with most pop acts). 1) It is interpretive of the lyrics or the meaning of the song - which is helpful for those of us who do not speak Japanese. 2) It is designed to involve and lead the crowd. Their crowd control is second to none and the crowd get their cues from the girls, they jump when the girls jump, pump their fists, shout, sing along etc when they get the signal from the girls. The instrumentalists (they were not in this video) for all live shows are the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians. They first appeared in October 2012 and were gradually phased in over the next year or more playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in some concerts (including the one in December 2013 where the Gimme Chocolate video was filmed - they were not on stage yet in this one, the guys in skeleton suits - Babybones - were miming the instrumentals to a pre-recorded backing track and they were just there for show, BABYMETAL didn't always have the budget for live musicians. The vocals were live in the live performance of course). There have been many musicians play with the Kami band - they all have their own bands and projects and there are musicians who will swap in and out depending on their availability. They have had the same hard core of about half a dozen musicians play the vast majority of concerts since they became the full time support for all live shows in March 2014 - they are; Guitarists (2 for each show) - Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018), Takayoshi Ohmura, Leda Cygnus and ISAO. Bass - BOH Drums - Hideki Aoyama Since 2019, for the lengthy tours of the US and Europe, the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) have supported BABYMETAL. They are guitarists Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio, bassist Clint Tustin and drummer Anthony Barone. BABYMETAL was formed around the vocal talents and stage presence of the lead vocalist Su-metal ... she was still only 12 in 2010 and she was already exceptionally talented - she has just got better every year since and is a great front person. Moametal and Yuimetal were only 11 when they formed. Sadly Yui left in October 2018 for health reasons after a 12 month absence. Su and Moa continued as a duo for nearly 5 years, supported by one of three dancers at live shows, until the 1st April this year when the last remaining dancer of the three, Momoko, was named as the official new third member and she was finally given a mic. If you can get tickets for the BabyKlok tour do not hesitate - BABYMETAL are one of the very best live acts you will see. For another reaction I would suggest their very first major event outside of Japan, the last song of the 5 they played as virtual unknowns with 50-60k UK metalheads to impress - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever) live at Sonisphere 2014. You will hear at the end as they walk off stage what the crowd thought of them.
Standing at the cusp of your lifes journey, knowing of the fall that awaits all those who stare down into the Fox Hole, The One can not help but Smile with Anticipation of what lies in wait before you!! More Babymetal Always!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL started back in 2010 and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘
There is a running gag in the 1st Jurassic Park movie ".. spared no expense", That is the secret of Babymetal. High production values, 1st class session musicians, a top rated choreographer and the 3 young women, especially Su-metal the lead singer.
Actually, in the beginning they had only a shoestring budget and even had costumes that were recycled from other groups. It was an experiment by a man with a vision (Koba-metal) that happened to hit it big. The big budget came later, but only after a ton of hard work and dedication by the girls.
My suggestions: Rondo of nightmare and akatsuki, both from budokan black night. Both are Su-metal solos. Sis anger is just the other two. Loads more of course.
Now that you've seen how a Japanese crowd reacts to Babymetal, you need to checkout Karate from Download 2016 to see how 60,000 western metalheads jammed with our girls in the pouring rain. 😁🤘🦊🤘
Nice reaction guys. I gotta say. You're screwed lol If you're hooked this early from THIS song, then you're going to REALLY like Babymetal. This song is probably their most polarizing song. This song is probably their most JPoppy song. Most of their other songs are more metal. As other's have said, I'd recommend Headbanger or Road of Resistance. If you'd actually like to see more of the band do a solo, then I'd recommend Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of gods intro. That song will just have the main vocalist singing to give the 2 dancers/backup vocalists a small break. Babymetal has a ton of good music for you to discover and every song will probably by able to surprise you as they love to experiment and their experiments always seem to turn out well. Also, you'll find that the main vocalist, Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) is very good at projecting emotion through her singing, so you'll get everything from super happy, which you just witnessed, to super sad, which has caused many people to have tears running down their eyes. She doesn't do angry though. Babymetal doesn't believe in violence, and would rather cure people of anger instead of projecting it. All in all good first reaction!
This song hit as a shock value more than what to indicate what's Babymetal has in store. It's chaotic and fun especially in live performance. To really know what's Babymetal is about, well need to check whole lot of their music and live performance, since their songs are so unique to each other - especially the girls literally grown up and their styles change by time too
Thanks for this reaction, we know some people will never like Babymetal, most of us are prepared to not get understanding on the first reaction/viewing. But on average 3 songs/videos for those who end up liking it will get an understanding of it and like it. Babymetal, especially early years that fit the age of the girls, has a very playful interpretation of what metal music/genre is, but also very well executed on that idea. With some electronics thrown in for good measure. And as you said: they deliver it live. They were doing their first world tour at age 15 and 16. And this is part of why big artists who had seen them perform at festivals got to respect them (their is a quality to everything Babymetal does). Sabaton has opened for Babymetal in Japan and are touring in Europe: Sabaton tour, Babymetal special guest, opening band: Lordi
@@faceplantor5647 you may be thinking about Ghidorah the Dragon-Hydra with 3 head's. I'll stick with Godzilla because it's dominant over all those other monsters🦊🤘
Gr8! Seen it 1000 x but made it new again! Welcome to the foxhole! . . . . Highly recommend Karate or Megitsune music videos next. . .you will be blown away how HEAVY they get! Gimmie Chocolate is their MOST poppy song. . . . Karate is gent. . .Megitsune is . . . well its own thing. . .Welcome to the coolest NO RULES experiment of metal genres mixing with this insane music theater project. . . .Kitsunes UP!! or. . .if you dare try a live performance. . . . . .Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! Live legend 1997 (Year of lead singer Su-Metal's birth) . . .a song about an idol girl attending her first ever metal show on her 15th birthday. . .You will be shocked. . .and understand the one. The ONe is how they refer to their fans. . .The fans become part of the performance. The two little ones (Yui Metal and Moa Metal) on the side direct "Scream and Dance". . .Literally directing the crowd how to participate. . .like an 18000 person flash mob! Kami (God or Spirit) Band Kills it !!! The girls, the band and the crowd all work together to make the Babymetal experience!!!! Looking forward to your tumble down the foxhole. . . . 🤘🦊🤘 🍔🔥🍅
FYI Babymetal is just the three girls. The backup band is the Kami Band which they use most of the time. Together they make great cute metal music though.
One of the regular commenters will be here soon. Different choreo everyone of their 60+ songs. This is one of their most jpop kawaii songs. They are more serious now and of course 10 years older.
You still don't know what to expect as Babymetal are chameleons when it comes to music. For older song, I would check Rondo of Nightmare; a good new song is Mirror Mirror or Monochrome
This is from the Legend of 1997 concert in 2013. Su, singer is 16; Yui and Moa are 14 yo. That is not a band behind them, it's a dance troupe called baby bones. So your hearing a backing track. Later in the concert they are backed by their tour band, the Kami Band. "Gimme Chocolate" is both their WTF song and their breakout song, internationally. They have been touring the world since 2014, generally to sell-outs. 2 Suggestions: "Headbanger" Legend of 1997 from this concert. Newer - "Monochrome" Live, & "Monochrome" piano ver. Same song, performed very differently
Great reaction. BabyMetal generates shock and nonplusses with most first time listeners. Musicianship, composition, vocals, show are absolutely top shelf professionally and creatively. Awesome and unique band.
Best Metal song ever about wanting to eat chocolate. 🦊🤟🤟🦊 Try the finale to this gig, Babymetal DEATH, which is as epic a Metal show ending as anything I've seen from any of the greats.
Great reaction guys, this song wouldn't be a song I would recommend as a first BABYMETAL reaction as it can be quite polarizing for some, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. BABYMETAL are 100% better live than on the studio recordings, so I suggest avoiding the studio versions if possible. I recommend the song Syncopation - th-cam.com/video/Odb9Zy0YdOc/w-d-xo.html 🍫🦊
Babymetal got me back into listening to metal and music in general. They are the best thing to happen to metal in 30+ years. Every metal show should be like this. Fast, heavy guitars, wild solos, insane drumming, catchy choruses and harmonies and lots of choreography. We don't need 5 guys standing around looking down for 2 hours any more.
Well... Welcome to the Foxhole! Great reaction! I would've written about them, but some others have done it better than I could. But one thing I can add is that "Zukiyun" and "Dokiyun" are onomatopoeias. Meaning "poisonous" and "me like it" for lack of better translation. Which fits perfectly the theme of wanting chocolate after a hard day's work, but worrying about gaining weight. Btw, this video isn't live. They're using tracks. BM started small, and though they were successful, in the beginning they didn't have money enough to pay the musicians for a full concert! So every time you see people playing in skeleton costumes, it's from that very early stage. Your next reaction ought to be of "Road of Resistance" the "Live in Japan" version. That is the quintessential Babymetal live experience, with a live band, playing the whole concert. 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
This concert celebrated Su's 16th birthday and the other girls were 14 and a half. Su was crucified at the same show. Watch the song DEATH if you want to see it. Latest video's look very cultish but ofcourse they are grown up. They are commonly worshipped by the audience you really need to see it.
5:50 Reaction start Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🌐 Cool to hear you got all the info you need for your first BM reaction. You still need to know a couple of more things such the Kami Band (which they not here) and the new official member since last month, MomoMetal, but don't worry, you'll get there, eventually. Just careful with these ladies they can drag you into the Foxhole and you don't wanna get it out. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan, official. See you next time 🦊🤘🍫
You will grow to be obsessed, I did, as a musician at first it f#@ked with my mind , but dam after seeing them live in London, I am hooked, the kami band are possibly the best session musicians alive, there is no stopping them, enjoy the fox hole🤘
I would argue that Kawaii Metal is only applicable to songs their first and second album (e.g ONEDARI DAISAKUSEN or DOKI DOKI MORNING), while their third and fourth album is much more expansive, songs like SHANTI SHANTI or MIRROR MIRROR for example...
Choco is wayyyyyyy down the line of intro songs for Babymetal for metal fans. This video is not live and the band is miming. Later that show the Kami Band came out and the miming “Babybones” was retired. There is not much of the kawaii left in their newest album it is way more adult. NOTE: I would 100% start with their earlier work and move forward and grow with the band as you go. The best starting spot is the song Ijime Dame Zettai from Sonisphere in the UK in 2014. It was their real introduction to metal festivals outside Japan. Note that show is considered by fans AND Su-metal (lead singer) as the most important in their history. At the show they were only 16/15/15 years old. Plus you can see the Kami Band in action. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html
@@Singulitarian I did not not run down the song. I stated the fact that it was not the vest intro to metal heads. Many hear the opening lyrics and checkout. Songs like IDZ, Road, Megitsune, Karate etc… are the best way to hook metal fans.
@@tackle47 Respectfully, no one knows what metalheads think. You may know what you and few people you talk to know. For most people, GC is a gateway drug that takes awhile to sink in. Any negativity can reduce their desire to check out more. Better to just say, "if you liked that, you may like x even more!" For every BABYMETAL fan that x will be a different song.
@@Singulitarian have been a long time fan and seen many and I mean many reactors and people I know respond negatively to GC. Not saying it cannot work for them, I said it was down the list compared to other songs.
I'd love to see you guys react to Dimmu Borgir sometime. Either Sacreligious Scorn or Serpentine Offering :D Stumbled across you guys for your Jinjer reactions
Great reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL. So glad you enjoyed this particular song since it seems to be a little polarizing for a first exposure to BABYMETAL because it's "just" a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried about gaining some weight... BUT it also has very metal instrumentals and that juxtaposition is totally the point of the song. And yes you are very well informed about the fact they are so diverse musically and there are no two songs which sound the same. About vocals, BABYMETAL was formed around Su-metal's (Suzuka Nakamoto) surprisingly powerful vocals and her unique stage presence. And "Gimme Chocolate" doesn't actually showcase her skills. They are still performing this one live (which I can confirm is a blast) and she even imitates her younger self. 😁 If you enjoy power/speed metal, they have several great ones: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", "Road of Resistance", "Arkadia", "Amore"... So, here is my suggestion for today: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014): th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html Until next time!
excellent content fellas, this band has lore too, I highly recommend you guys get some tickets to see them and then do a deep dive into their story and double your subscribers, and do a Vlog at Orlando and maybe triple your subscribers, plus the best part is you get to know this band because they are like no other, no two songs are alike, but all their songs have two things in common, they are better live and they are awesome.
the song is in full playback, during the concert too, the girls and the musicians behind too. If you wanted to see a song played live from the same concert, I recommend "BABYMETAL DEATH Legend 1997 complete" It's a transition concert, they go from playback musicians (Babybones, who accompanied all their previous concerts) to a real group (KamiBand). From this concert only the titles "Onedari Daisakusen", "Catch Me If You Can", "Headbanger", "Akatsuki" and "BABYMETAL DEATH" are played by real musicians. sorry if the English is approximate, I am French and I use Google Trade ^^
Baby-Metal has the most diverse audience at live shows than any other act. Everything from little girls with their parents to young guys in the pit to crusty old metal heads.
There are many great metal bands out of Japan but Babymetal are the GOAT. Not necessarily my personal favorite but these girls' dedication and work ethic are absolutely amazing. This performance was the celebration of the lead singers 16th birthday and the other girls were 14. You absolutely must see Road of Resistance, Live in Japan. I know you love drums Chris, so you will love this. One of my favorite performances of any band of all time.
This was fun to watch thank you. If you intend to continue, I'd suggest getting live shows, and try to go in some sort of chronological order for their work - Su-Metal (the lead singer) is a powerhouse from the start, she grows over time into a one of a kind talent as a singer and leader. It's worth experiencing. The band is all outstanding, Su-Metal is a legendary talent. Look forward to more! I'd suggest "Legend 1997 live (headbanger, then others)", you won't regret it. Also, virtually every song they perform is different across styles / genres - no matter what you choose you will not go wrong, and you will almost always be surprised.
The girls were only 16 and 15 during that concert, they started when they were 11 and 10. During that tour they sold out 55,000 seat Tokyo Dome two consecutive nights. They are in their element live. Sumetal controls the audience.
This is the only the tip of a very large iceberg! Go deeper! BTW, The girls ARE BabyMetal. The band is their backup and changes. But they always use talented musicians.
Gimme Chocolate:- Old school Thrash Metal. Combinations of Metallica "Fight Fire With Fire" and Slayer "Raining Blood". Heaviest, Brutal song about Chocolate. React to the song on late night show with Stephen Colbert. Old school metalheads can appreciate the metal, younger audience can appreciate the J Pop with a very catchy chorus. It just HAD to be Gimme Chocolate ( I was praying it wasn't 🤣)....not the best intro to a band - I like it now but I'd not have wanted it to be my first exposure to a band that revived my interest in music after maybe 15 yrs. Great reaction - and pits really are a thing at their concerts - do look up more - this banding is amazing and every track is very different - as you noted - set up for live ideally (although some of their videos are amazing). This particular concert is one of my favourites - and I've got maybe 25 of them now
For a truly intimate visual experience (small stage), check out their performance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They performed this song, but you can see, up close all the singers/dancers AND musicians, A very "live" sound. It's probably one of my live performances of this song. Just search "Babymetal Stephen Colbert"
I saw the Lordi-Babymetal-Sabaton set at AVicii Arena, Stockholm and it was amazing. And i will see BM again at Annexet here in Stockholm in November. But i miss Yui even if Momoko is doing a great job and i do support her fully. Great reaction guys and welcome to the Fox Hole! 🦊🤘
Very cool!!! That show was "Legend 1997". The first part is the show, which is where they play "Gimme Chocolate!!" it was with a scenographic band. The second part has the Kami Band and an apotheotic ending with an excellent performance of the song "Death!" > I always suggest reactions with live music, if you keep reacting the sequence is basic.. Headbanger, "Death! Legend 1997" and "Road of Resistance live in Japan - Official"... But there's a lot to check out. Welcome to Fox Hole!!! 🤘🦊🤘
Giveme Chocolate is a right of passage, I guess. I have come to terms with it as a first reaction. However, I assure you you haven't seen anything yet. Ladies are currently preparing for a massive world tour. Their US portion kicks off in August with Dethklok and special guest Jason Richardson. Approximately named the BabyKlok tour lol. I will be seeing them in Vegas in October!! All in all a great first reaction here from Giveme Chocolate. ____________________________________________________ Ladies are in their 20's now. Su-Metal is 25, Moa-Metal is 23 and MoMo-Metal is 20. As others have probably mentioned, Babymetal just released their 4th album, The Other One. Their first concept album which is some of their best work to date I feel!! The album's hard to miss given their Game Of Thrones cover art, which is f**** epic!! Several live performances from their 4 recent arena shows in Tokyo & Yokohama are now available. Personally, while there is a lot to go around here. __________________________________________________________ Two performances stick out worth checking out here. Rondo Of Nightmare Mischiefs Of Metal Gods at Budokan Live!! ( Black Night). Which Su-Metal was 16 at the time of that legendary performance. Along with Metal Kingdom from their recent Tokyo Makuhari Mesde Arena show. Ladies are on a different level now, but it's still great to see reactions from where it all started. Babymetal are the GateKeepers into the J-Metal underworld which there is no excape lol. 🤘🦊💕
I love Gimme Chocolate, but the video sucks because you have to explain Babybones and the Kami band every time it's reacted to. The early days when they couldn't afford a live band should be able to be put to the pages of history, something obscure someone may learn if they dive deeper. Not the very first thing they learn.
Good job guys... You might want to react to Road of Resistance (japan Version) or for a slight change of pace , Papaya. I like this groups concert videos more than the production videos. You could be drawn into the Foxhole if you're not careful.
i normally would recommend megitsune and rondo of nightmare for first watch. always watch the LIVE VERSIONS. normally the official live versions are just live recorded videos with the studio audio
Jesus does everyone who does these reaction videos just follow each other? This is like the 20th Gimme Chocolate review in the past 3 days and it's a 10 year old song.
Tip: Babymetal has a seriously hardcore fanbase and reacting to them will drive views to your channel (those Japanese fandoms are very dedicated), especially because their latest studio album in four years just dropped. From a 'Western' perspective, Road of Resistance live in Japan (th-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/w-d-xo.html) is the one which converted me (old school metalhead) from, 'yeah, this is kinda interesting' to, 'okay, that was fantastic, also I HAVE to go to one of their live shows because their crowd interaction / control is second to none I've seen (I'd say on par or possibly even better than Rammstein)' - so I now have tickets for their next tour. (Personal perspective: Gimme Chocolate is one of their songs I don't really like - and a good 3/4 of their songs are on my regular playlist. It's just too gimmicky and jarring, and I don't think it really represents their sound.) With Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse (th-cam.com/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/w-d-xo.html) being another decent option in terms of getting your head around what their thing is, with its vibe being somewhat between Road and Chocolate. In terms of non-live stuff, I'd say Karate is their best music video (th-cam.com/video/GvD3CHA48pA/w-d-xo.html). But unlike many bands, live is where they really shine. They are absolutely a divisive group amongst western metalheads, people either love them or hate them. However (not that band opinions should necessarily sway people) but a few gems I've come across: "They roll harder than you" - Rob Zombie "How can you not be entertained watching that?" - Korn "We saw them in 2013 at a festival, and we were astounded by their awesomeness" - Metallica They've performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Rob Halford, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers. So... regardless of what some metal fans think, they've won hearts and minds amongst the metal community.
These girls been grinding for 13 years and are still going strong. They had bad times by losing one of their guitarists in an accident (RIP Fujioka-sensei) and even having one of the original members, Yuimetal, leave due to undisclosed health issues. But now, they have a new third member, Momoko. Their live videos and shows are always a treat because they are intricately choreographed down to a T. As some people would put it, Babymetal is more than just a live band. It's a live experience.
Check out " Catch Me if You Can" or " BxMxC" or "Pa Pa Ya " ... always use a live performance. Usually the videos from live in Japan shows are the best quality.
Babymetal has huge circle pits at every show. And wall of death is common, in fact required, in Road of Resistance.
@Honk Honkler Yea, the crowd in Copenhagen was more or less completely uninterested when they did their set, it totaly killed the mood. And on top of that the sound mix was a bit off, couldn't really hear the singing clearly, and they completely lost sound mid through one of the songs. 😕
@@RaXXha I think it would be silly to expect Sabaton crowds to react like Babymetal crowds do.
@@allegorical Sure, that wasn't my expectation, but the crowd being completely dead is silly too. You can cheer a band on even if you haven't heard them before, thats just manners! 😁
and circle pits for ijime dame!
HOW MANY LIKES??!?!?
They have a different choreography for each song. They throw the whole concert dancing. They are a very visual band. And the musicians are fantastic.
They're not even a band. You want a band? Wagakki. Not a bunch of idol wanna-bes prancing around like 6th graders.
They have had the same hard core of about half a dozen musicians play the vast majority of concerts since they became the full time support for all live shows in March 2014 - they are;
Guitarists (2 for each show) - Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018), Takayoshi Ohmura, Leda Cygnus and ISAO.
Bass - BOH
Drums - Hideki Aoyama
Since 2019, for the lengthy tours of the US and Europe, the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) have supported BABYMETAL.
Best fan in the world!

By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘
Thank you for sharing the gospel of Babymetal , the FoxGod sends its disciples like you to spread the history and joy of Babymetal
Babymetal 💕 🤟
There is a running gag in the 1st Jurassic Park movie ".. spared no expense", That is the secret of Babymetal. High production values, 1st class session musicians, a top rated choreographer and the 3 young women, especially Su-metal the lead singer.
Actually, in the beginning they had only a shoestring budget and even had costumes that were recycled from other groups. It was an experiment by a man with a vision (Koba-metal) that happened to hit it big. The big budget came later, but only after a ton of hard work and dedication by the girls.
A big smile...you got it right away!
My favorite band doing the one song I would never suggest for a first reaction, however chocolate...
Kitsune dao!
BABYMETAL headbanger live songs Road Of Resistance(MOSH'SH PIT), Legend 1997, Sis Anger, Headbanger, GJ, Rondo Of The Nightmare,
oh sweet, I'll be at that Orlando show in september!
So glad you guys enjoyed it! I'm seeing them in Sydney this June and am so excited!!
Really!!! Thanks, I didn’t know they were coming to Australia, I’m booking my ticket tonight
I'll be there in Sydney as well (and Brisbane, and Melbourne). Aussie kitsune unite!! 🤘🦊🤘
I'm seeing them in Sydney too. Look for the Sakura Gakuin flags!
Seeing them in September in Michigan US. Can't wait. One off my bucket list
@@Icipher353 I’m booking flights, pissed they’re not coming to Adel
"Sis. Anger".....'nuff said 🤘🦊🤘😉
The foxhole is deep and vast... looking forward to your journey!
Make sure you get 3 or 4 songs in before taking in Babymetal DEATH legend 1997.
Babymetal, the Godzilla of Japanese metal bands. Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊🤘
I have always thought of Babymetal as the Mothra of Japanese metal because of the twin factor with Moa and Yui (Now Momoko).👊🏽⚡️🤘🏾🦊
@@faceplantor5647 you may be thinking about Ghidorah the Dragon-Hydra with 3 head's. I'll stick with Godzilla because it's dominant over all those other monsters🦊🤘
More Babymetal please. Especially the ones with the Kami Band intros. You will find the Babymetal army a bunch of really nice people!
I recommend their live rendition of Handbanger
Or footbanger, of course 😊
Nice reaction! ありがとう。
日本から愛を込めて🤘🦊💕
They are more serious now and of course 10 years older.
greatest sweet sixteen party off all times
" Live BABYMETAL is Life "
Lets go!!! Finally Babymetal!!
These girls rocks so hard!!
You gave them a serious analyze which they deserve 👌🏼
Finally someone that pronounces かわいい correct, and not like scarry lol
Great reaction. BabyMetal generates shock and nonplusses with most first time listeners. Musicianship, composition, vocals, show are absolutely top shelf professionally and creatively. Awesome and unique band.
Best Metal song ever about wanting to eat chocolate. 🦊🤟🤟🦊 Try the finale to this gig, Babymetal DEATH, which is as epic a Metal show ending as anything I've seen from any of the greats.
KAWAII METAL IS THE FUTURE ?????? 🤣🤣🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I was skeptical the 1st time i clicked into their video. It was a trap. Been hooked ever since n they're my favourite band/artistes now 🤣
Great reaction guys, this song wouldn't be a song I would recommend as a first BABYMETAL reaction as it can be quite polarizing for some, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
BABYMETAL are 100% better live than on the studio recordings, so I suggest avoiding the studio versions if possible.
I recommend the song Syncopation - th-cam.com/video/Odb9Zy0YdOc/w-d-xo.html
🍫🦊
Babymetal got me back into listening to metal and music in general. They are the best thing to happen to metal in 30+ years. Every metal show should be like this. Fast, heavy guitars, wild solos, insane drumming, catchy choruses and harmonies and lots of choreography. We don't need 5 guys standing around looking down for 2 hours any more.
You guys became fans at the exact right time. They're about to tour America with Dethklock. GO BUY TICKETS!
seeing you two eventually smile ear to ear and bobbing your heads together is the BEST reaction so far 😂
🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
BABY METAL 🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Next Video: Road of Resistance Live in Japan, you´ll se what babymetal is really about.
This concert celebrated Su's 16th birthday and the other girls were 14 and a half. Su was crucified at the same show. Watch the song DEATH if you want to see it. Latest video's look very cultish but ofcourse they are grown up. They are commonly worshipped by the audience you really need to see it.
5:50 Reaction start
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey 🦊🤘🌐
Cool to hear you got all the info you need for your first BM reaction.
You still need to know a couple of more things such the Kami Band (which they not here) and the new official member since last month, MomoMetal, but don't worry, you'll get there, eventually. Just careful with these ladies they can drag you into the Foxhole and you don't wanna get it out.
Next suggestion:
- Road Of Resistance live in Japan, official.
The arena where this was filmed is rumoured to hold 70,000 people !!!!!
Babymetal moshpits are the most fun and most feel-good moshpits I've ever been in.
Thank you!
More BABYMETAL plz!
DEFINITELY do this.
Don't understand the need to run down GC. Just tell them you like other songs better. It's still their most important and popular song.
The "band" in the back ground are actors miming, which they had up to that concert where the introduced the Kami Band for the last 3 songs...
I can't wait to watch your reaction to "Rondo of Nightmare" and/or "Catch me if you can".
Babymetal - Karate live from Budokan 2021
I'd love to see you guys react to Dimmu Borgir sometime. Either Sacreligious Scorn or Serpentine Offering :D
Stumbled across you guys for your Jinjer reactions
If you enjoy power/speed metal, they have several great ones: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", "Road of Resistance", "Arkadia", "Amore"... So, here is my suggestion for today: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014): th-cam.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/w-d-xo.html
Until next time!
excellent content fellas, this band has lore too, I highly recommend you guys get some tickets to see them and then do a deep dive into their story and double your subscribers, and do a Vlog at Orlando and maybe triple your subscribers, plus the best part is you get to know this band because they are like no other, no two songs are alike, but all their songs have two things in common, they are better live and they are awesome.
the song is in full playback, during the concert too, the girls and the musicians behind too. If you wanted to see a song played live from the same concert, I recommend "BABYMETAL DEATH Legend 1997 complete"
It's a transition concert, they go from playback musicians (Babybones, who accompanied all their previous concerts) to a real group (KamiBand).
The concert was in Stockholm, Sweden 🤘I was there and heard Babymetal for the first time and now i´m hooked. 😎
Nice reaction brothers
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
He is just wrecking the double kicks.100% rocks those drums
The Foxhole runs DEEP!
BABYMETAL FOREVER
🤘🤘🤘
This is the only the tip of a very large iceberg! Go deeper! BTW, The girls ARE BabyMetal. The band is their backup and changes. But they always use talented musicians.
If you have the opportunity to see them live take it! It's so much fun.
Every Baby Metal song kicks ass.
Opening this door to jpop metal. You guys will have to check out Band Maid as well. Those girls play their own instruments!!
SO much fun! ❤🤘And the band absolutely SLAMS!
respect to two of you, thank's for the open mind and what a joy to see how you enjoyed it
Gimme Chocolate:-
Old school Thrash Metal. "Babymetal" is a visual band like "X Japan 🇯🇵".

I❤️ Babymetal!👍
When they started one was eleven and two were ten.
Gimme Chocolate is such a heavy upbeat happy song, it is hard not to bop to it and it seems to make everyone happy after hearing it!
This particular concert is one of my favourites - and I've got maybe 25 of them now
More Babymetal please.
Was there too but I can not go at Annexet. It is a bum...
Damn... BabyMetal has become the foreground in the last few weeks!!! Good to see you guys! Make sure to check out Road to Resistance!
Very cool!!!
That show was "Legend 1997". The first part is the show, which is where they play "Gimme Chocolate!!" it was with a scenographic band. The second part has the Kami Band and an apotheotic ending with an excellent performance of the song "Death!" >
I always suggest reactions with live music, if you keep reacting the sequence is basic..

Ladies are in their 20's now.
__________________________________________________________
Two performances stick out worth checking out here.
I'm in Daytona, saw them at Hard Rock Orlando Sept 2019 and will be at the 2023 Orlando concert...see you there maybe...
They're brilliant and so pretty and refreshing. Much respect to them.
Great reaction, guys
next -> babymetal headbanger
This is their biggest viral hit...for a reason. The shock value... Try one of their new songs...Mirror Mirror...Maya...Metal Kingdom
Good job guys... You might want to react to Road of Resistance (japan Version) or for a slight change of pace , Papaya.
I like this groups concert videos more than the production videos. You could be drawn into the Foxhole if you're not careful.
Husband and I went to that show (Orlando 2023). Their set was too short! It was a fun time.
cant wait to see your face melt with shock when you do road of resistance live from japan
i normally would recommend megitsune and rondo of nightmare for first watch. always watch the LIVE VERSIONS. normally the official live versions are just live recorded videos with the studio audio
It's just too gimmicky and jarring, and I don't think it really represents their sound.)
With Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 Apocalypse (th-cam.com/video/YjjWZpf_jSs/w-d-xo.html) being another decent option in terms of getting your head around what their thing is, with its vibe being somewhat between Road and Chocolate.
However (not that band opinions should necessarily sway people) but a few gems I've come across:
"They roll harder than you" - Rob Zombie
"How can you not be entertained watching that?" - Korn
"We saw them in 2013 at a festival, and we were astounded by their awesomeness" - Metallica
They've performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Dragonforce, Rob Halford, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers. So... regardless of what some metal fans think, they've won hearts and minds amongst the metal community.
Megitsune is their best song from the 1st album.
You guys were very very fair. Many people dismiss them instantly with the girls voices and J pop chorus.
Been a fan of Babymetal since the start. Babymetal is power! K i l l t h e h a t e r s
"Catch me if you can" would have been a better song to start with.
