Our next destination is Mossel Bay in our South African Garden Route road trip and it is also the town which is start of this beautiful route. We saw some signs on British Raj in South Africa here which was very similar to Indian history of british colonisation.

The tree with purple flowers is called Jacaranda this blossoms during spring in southern hemisphere.
By road travel always has a extraordinary thrill, strolling in an unknown country and places in such a place where seldom find people is adventurous , thrilling and it has a different feelings altogether. Areas, sea beaches and railway lines to transport from the port reminds the British colonial exploitation. Nice, keep on we are enjoying.

These are very common in Pretoria and Johannesburg.

That tree is a Jacaranda tree. Pretoria in south africa is known has Jacaranda city. It's really beautiful. Jacaranda trees everywhere. Our side walks and pathways always has trees. U right it's Just like the cherry blossoms in japan. South africa was colonized by almost all colonizers, the Portuguese first, French, German, Dutch etc they formed the boer/Afrikaans speaking. Then the English came they wanted the coast in cape and natal cause of trade routes. Then when gold and diamonds where discovered inland the greedy British wanted those areas which led to anglo boer wars.

I presume this is the same town which is seen in film No Problem of Anil Kapoor. Can you please confirm... The slopes make me feel like that.
I assume you went to live for long time in SA. I went too but somehow due to lethargic working culture couldn't get a long term visa. The tree with purple flowers is an icon in SA called Jacaranda.

The British were also the architects of Apartheid much like you still have in India today, you just call it the Cast System.
Although many white people from South Africa have moved to North America, it still looks like a white colony. You see names such as Heidelberg and Mossel Bay in South Africa because there are many people of German descent too in South Africa. People of Dutch descent call themselves Afrikaans. They not only speak this language at home but they also go to Afrikaan medium schools. People of British descent do not call themselves Afrikaans. These days most people are mixed - Dutch, German and French heritage. You will still find people who are 100% English. Many Indians from South Africa too moved to North America after its independence.
