The entire route from Bangalore to Rameshwaram is around 600 kilometres, and it takes 10-12 hours to complete the journey. It is a pleasant drive from Bangalore to Rameshwaram. Follow NH44 up to Madurai and take NH87 from Madurai to Rameshwaram. The roads are well built, so a comfortable journey is guaranteed. The highways are dotted with local Dhabas that serve authentic South Indian cuisine. However, there are only limited options once you cross Madurai, so it is advisable to have lunch/dinner at Madurai itself.

Happy to see you guys enjoying the trip. Just to share knowledge " Aayudha puja means Weapons puja." It is believed that when Pandavas ( Maha Bharatham) completed their Agyasavatham on Dashera or on Nav Ratri they offered prayers to their weapons. They hid their weapons on Khejri tree. So in South they pray all their tools, plants, weapons, vehicles etc. Just want to share south Indian culture.

There is a short cut which you can take from namakkal - trichy - pudukottai - karaikudi & again you can reach the same road which connects madurai to Rameswaram at ramanathapuram. obviously tamilnadu short cuts you can rely as compared to other short cuts except kerala in south India.

Very Nice .. We can avoid toll charges up to Coimbatore i.e Via Mysore -> Chamrajnagar -> Coimbatore . This route upto Coimbatore you wont have toll and also road is good.

We also reached Rameshwaram in 2012 by rail , boarded at villoopuram, after road journey(Coastal portion) by taxi via mamalpuram ,pondecherry ,started from Chennai.
Dosa Idli of Railway canteen at Rameshwaram were found very
cheap & tasteful .
Passing through Pamban bridge was very much amazing.

The best route is Siliguri Patna Rewa Jabalpur Nagpur Bengaluru. The only this you will get bad roads from Patna to Varanasi

No need to enter madurai city by taking left instead u can travel few kms straight and take a left at kappalur and travel few kms to again touch the highyway heading Rameshwaram..

Bangalore Rameshwaram one tank diesel, on way food, plus hotel charges. If that’s the one then I would say 10k in total however for total south trip from Bangalore Rameshwaram Kanyakumari Kodaikanal and return would have been 30-40k
