Good to see the explant shift or choosing against implants! There is a lifetime of future surgeries ahead with breast implants that isn't discussed... aged implant exchanges, capsular contractures, weighted implant breast lifts, plus numbness, etc ... not to mention the serious BII health issues!!

If you are considering a fat transfer to breast, a Danish company called Stemform has recently found a solution to keep 90 % of the fat with an innovative and patented use of stem cells. You can only get the procedure done i Denmark and it costs around 30.000 dollars :-( But hopefully with time it will get cheaper. The best thing is that even skinnier women can get this done, because the stemcells will make more fat for you. Quite amazing actually!

Hi Dr Dona I hope you are still reading comments on this video. I feel at this point its imperative I reach some plastic surgeon somewhere in the world and inform him of my situation and its bearing on the BII debate. In 1984 I had a plastic surgeon in Madison WI insert silicone gel implants in my chest. I was not unhappy with my body at all but my fiancee was and so bought me implants for Christmas. Shortly after doing his work the surgeon moved to Cortland NY and I can find no email address for him there. Given that you instead are getting my story. Dr Stephen Guthrie never mentioned any ongoing debate about ills the implants might cause NOR that they were TEMPORARY and need be changed every ten years to prevent leak rupture and rejection. I thought I had made a very safe permanent body alteration and never received any notice from him suggesting otherwise. So in the early 90s when I began having odd illnesses I never imagined I ought remind my GP I had implants that might be the cause as I developed all sorts of allergies to pain killers, anmtibiotics latex polyesther rayon plastic common household cleaners like PineSol. any soap with fragrance or antibacterial. I never thought the implants might be at fault as such things caused hives, breathing troubles, chemical burns. Shortly adfter developing severe allergies of course I got asthma and needed inhalers including steriod and finally a nebulizer. In addition to those troubles I began getting acid reflux that escalated to ulcer after ucler scarring my esophagus until I got Barr's syndrome. Next came the arthritis and I took meds for it for years until I became allergic to etodolac and had to do lidocane injections. By 2000 things really started acting up with hives covering my back everyday and no diagnosis for why or what caused it---it exploded into tissue DYING on my breast nipples and falling off leaving them scarred and skin dying on both forearms pealing off daily---no diagnosis just creams for skin cancer prescribed......I got numbness in the hands and feet and diagnosed with no pulse from the knees and elbows down why they don;'t know.......My wrists and hips hurt daily and prevent sleep and my hair is falling out making me bald in the front. Over and over I went to doctors about the inability to BREATHE, the joint pains the SEVERE skin rashes and skin death like LEPROSEY----to only hear "we just don';t know" not do you have implants have you heard of BII do you know you need new ones or explants every 10 years dear? No one cared about my failing health or if I could keep a job Doctor. Finally last fall after nearly 40 years with these implants a friend at work accidentally hit my chest or boob with a pile of steel in a crane----the implant worked like a bullet proof vest taking the blow but weeks later the breast went LIMP soft sagging. At the time we working to keep up with truck tralier sales during COVID 60 hour weeks no time off allowed and that went on for MONTHS, until recently. When it ended I rushed to my GP., some lady just out of med school. I had a very long list of serious complaints for her that included the flesh dying on my nipples and falling off, the soft boob, the severe ulcers all over my forearms to the extent I can';t even shower them due to the pain it causes, chronic ongoing UTI for 2 years no med that can cure it , severe exhaustion or fatigue and weird bloating. Do yoiu know what she said ? Can you even begin to imagine? She didn;t say go to a urologist nor allergist--nope just get that breast mammogrammed at once. I thought it really ODD but I followed thru on her request. Within moments after a couple shots of my boob the tech called a doctor into speak to me who said , "Well your right implant has of course ruptured that is why it is deflated sagging and soft, It may not be pretrty or perky but there is NO HARM in it no worries no risks. Silicone is an inert substance that cannot interacxt with your body or impact your health--so sorry that happened but you are fine and didn;t need any tests or concern about the matter. Good day!" and as he walked away turned around to add "Oh your arms look irritated alittle contact dermatitis see an allergists maybe?" and with a big grin strolled down the hall. I don;t know about contact dermatitis but the large ulcers all over my arms go so deep in the skin they BLEED and leaver scars like a severe burn----as do those on my nipples. Well I got up thinking what a jerk is he really a doctor and phoned my GP to say my implant is ruptured but the doc says no worries its inert and has no impact on my health. My doctor screamed at me , "I don;t agree with that man you schedule it's removal at once!" and so it seems sir this has become kind of a sexist debate with women with or without implants insisting ongoing infections like UTIs, scarring skin rashes wherein large amounts or chunks of flesh die, joint pain or arthritis visible on exrays, acid reflux leading to constant ulcers that perforate, difficulty breathing causing such low oxygen levels like 80 you need a nebulizer hair loss and fatiigue are real documented ailments shared by all the women who got implants and as some common shared heading take the name BII----whether you can bring yourself to admit that over worries about your income or not. Realize even if I got these implants out tomorrow I am seriously SCARED for life-----both my arms and my nipples are DESTROYED with thick purple raised scars..........I pray to God after my explant I am less tired less achy less bald less breathless --as I sit here writing this PATCHES of the skin rash are beginning now on my legs/knees and I am just panic stricken then to remove the implants asap as no one has any reason for this rash but those insisting implants cause it. My arms are BLOODY from open lesions no cream mitigates. I don;lt pretend sir to be a doctor I am a machinist who runs large saws for steel designing parts-----and confess that is my expertise not medicine. But then I need ask YOU what is wrong with all of you guys who CANNOT for 30 years give me any reason WHY I am covered in hives daily covered in ulcers struggling for breath limping in hip pain stinking from chronic UTI allergic to almost everything I might wear or touch even somethibng as common as Lysol. You're the EXPERT can you give me any reason for I can tell you other women who hacve had implants can they say we all suffered the same thing and all we have in common is not age, race, education, occupation even gender religion diet habits ethnicity locale just BREAST IMPLANTS--think about that a while let it really sink in................................

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and possible multiple sclerosis but all my exams are normal. Diagnosis are often put on a paper without any positive test but symptoms are matched. I just don't really understand that why do we need scientific evidence when other conditions might not showing any changes in blood test, scans etc but Dr's still given diagnosis and illnesses are accepted? However I'm 100%sure that I have BII after learning a lot about this condition as everything started after 3years of breast augmentation. I don't believe health starts declining in many ways without any reason.I think the theory of autoimmune response to foreign objects quite reasonable but with that unfortunately BII can't be ever proven.

BII presents itself as an autoimmune disorder with the toxic inflammation in the body. I have never had autoimmune disorders prior to these symptoms within the last few years. I can barely move my body now and I suffer from chronic fatigue, to name the worst of my symptoms. I have been living with chronic pain for over a year now. I had my Mentor silicone gel implants put in 10 years ago. There are over thirty-thousand women in a FB group discussing very similar circumstances, symptoms, mysterious illness with no answers but clearly we are not well. I have tried acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage, my father is a PCP, I have a PCP that I have visited more than I’ve ever been to the Dr. before. I have also been to see multiple OB/GYNs, a neurologist, an integrative health guide, two traditional Chinese medicine physicians, reiki, and I practice and teach yin yoga regularly. Do your own research. There is a reason why there are no medical studies, and so much dismissal of our symptoms, and insurance won’t cover explant surgery. Thank you for your information, Dr. Eddy Dona. I feel like I’m dying. I eat well, am a vegetarian, very healthy conscious and invest in my holistic well-being. Nothing makes sense. All tests are negative except my testosterone is high. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids but it doesn’t explain the chronic musculoskeletal pain, the pain when I move, the bloating, indigestion, constipation, how I look like and feel like I’m 90. I don’t want to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have to rule out BII. Explant surgery is scheduled for three days from now! The plan was for local anesthetic, a quick removal, but just now I am understanding how important it is to remove the capsule. Ideally, an en bloc capsulectomy…Can this be done without general anesthesia? I will find out tomorrow if my doctor is willing to do. I cannot afford general anesthesia.

Hi Doctor. from your personal experience how much % of women got BII symptoms of all these that you did breast augmentation surgery to?? Roughly estimate..

I have the same symptoms and I don’t have breast implants. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Would that be their issue as well?

Interesting you should mention that. Some BII studies have linked the illness to individuals that had pre existing autoimmune disorders.

One other thing that merits mention doctor. As I sat in the hospital after mammogram with the doctor glowering at me I had this weird feeling he didn;t look kindly at me because he was aware unlike most I have implants . Or put another way he felt I was a particular sort of woman--the kind that thinks skin opens doors or something. And more that he thinks those who insist they have ills from their implants are neurotic pity and attention seekers never happy with anything, malcontents worse than annoying who ought be put of their misery. And that is why he initially was wuite dismissive like flicking a booger off the finger or something.......until he saw my bloody arms and accidentally let escpae from his lips this remark "oh you should have come sooner" as if confessing the rupture might cause such rash---but then realizing what he had done, betray the skull and bones type brotherhood of the AMA promptly retracted with the contact dermatitis diagnosis and the old silicone is inert and can;t interact indicating to me the sorry condition of his soul---willing to let any girl suffer or die in naivity just to protecxt a buddy's practice or income........Now you can make alot more videos if you like insisting there is NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that implants sicken anyone but then I demand one of you tell me the CAUSE of these ulcers all over my nipples and arms----give me some scietific reason with lots of evidence buster........
