    So beautiful to watch. All those 747s DC-10s and MD-11. You can never get such beautiful planes and sights like this now. Air travel has really deteriorated since 9/11. I feel like I’m going to cry because it’s so emotional to think that airlines have made these beautiful planes into heap of scrap. I don’t care about noise or fuel costs. Nothing beats the class of these aircraft back when air travel was 1000000000 times better

    • @soravulpis96

      Yeah on one hand it’s become quite boring with planes that frankly look the same to an untrained eye.
      OTOH planes like the 777, 787, A350 and A320neo and 737Max have made routes that would have been nonviable in that era.

    747 Queen of Skies.......

  • @frylucas
    @frylucas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Seeing the "International" Pokémon Jet (JA8962) was delightful, certainly brings a smile and makes me wish these beautiful Pokémon aircraft were still around.
    But it's not the only thing to be missed... look at all these 747s, DC-10s, Tristars, A340s, such a delightful diversity of beautiful widebodies which now are almost completely extinct from our skies, which becomes more and more bland every year, and they just killed our last hope for diversity (the A380).

    • @zefconero2094
      @zefconero2094 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So true. At least ANA ordered some 380's, so let's hope they will extend it's presence a bit longer. I had hope for the 747-8- but that is a dying breed as well.

    • @frylucas
      @frylucas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A world with more 747-8s and A380s surely would've been a much happier (and considerably more comfortable) place, a lot of people make the "debate" of which is better, but I sincerely just wish both would've survived longer in production.
      But true! at least we can be happy we've got airlines like ANA and British Airways keep the A380 around for many years to come!

    • @visionist7
      @visionist7 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't it hilarious how everybody in society is obsessed with "diversity" these days and yet in the exact same breath they all want us to fly around crammed into the same twin engined planes. Pfft diversity, yeah, whenever it suits them!

    • @frylucas
      @frylucas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@visionist7 Airline CEOs, executives and other men in suit are out of touch with reality. They just care about their own gains and making profits for shareholders, until the inevitable happens and they go bankrupt.
      Now with the A380 gone, I want to see what they will do in 10 years when airports start to become packed beyond belief with aircraft, seriously limiting capacity while air travel continues to grow.

      They should have closed the NRT hub in the 90s and partnered with regional airlines in Asia to provide the next stop.
      Delta is doing this. Routes served by NW/DL within Asia are now being served by Korean Air.

    Now the international terminal is just full of Delta 767 and 777s.

      And in several months, Delta will close up Narita. End of an era. I remember flying those Northwest jets connecting between the US and cities in Southeast Asia.

      Rodolfo A Which is a smart move. Tokyo is full and has no capacity for growth, along with ANA and JAL becoming less relevant in Asia. Seoul and KE have connections to secondary cities throughout Asia, perfect for Delta to feed into.
      Manila continuing to be on DL metal is a fluke, a loophole being exploited to expand Seoul-Manila capacity without violating bilateral agreements. When the agreements are expanded, DL will close that route.
