Imagine if the virus itself was a Sub-stand, the same way Sheer-Heart Attack is to Killer Queen. Fugo would have control over the virus itself and thus make it only affect those he wanted to suffer.
Fugo would then be that one side character that's ridicolously overpowered Because if Fugo can decide who gets virus and who doesn't and he is automatically immune to it Spam PH even if Bucciarati Gang is nearby, then make virus infect anyone but the Bucci gang, and boom the enemy is fucked unless they can run super far away(The other Bucci gang members would then try to get him into the massive radius of virus capsules Fugo popped all at once)
I would not be surprised if that was in the back of Araki's mind when he decided to retire Fugo. Like I get the actual given reasons, but... as soon as you introduce that Gold Experience can inoculate people from the INSTANT DEATH VIRUS, you have to do a lot of writing gymnastics to give Fugo a fight that isn't just immediate victory. Same reason why Mista shoots himself a lot.
Disregarding the fact that the "berserk" nature of the virus reflects onto Fugo's character, the change I'd make would be Fugo being able to choose who's affected by the virus or not. Making the virus affect everyone around him indiscriminately BESIDES Fugo himself, or the virus affecting nobody BUT one certain person, letting the virus exist and do its thing, but once it makes contact with the "target", it will affect them and them only (perhaps routing out an individual in a crowded or populated area) Maybe also the ability to change the ruleset even after the virus is released, for example: Fugo releases the virus, sets it to not affect anyone, then suddenly, he sets it to affect everyone (or the specific target) once the group/person he wants to take out enters the virus' area of effect.

I would say that, in the light novel, they have greatly improved his Stand. By making the virus eat other viruses and even itself, they made it somewhat controllable
I like the idea of Fugo being an interrogator, but I think we could even do more with this idea. I think Fugo should have the ability to control the intensity of the virus based on a condition that he sets. For example, “if you lie, the virus intensifies.” That way he’d be able to force answers out of people by asking them questions. He could even do stuff like “if you activate your stand ability, the virus intensifies” or “if you touch object x, the virus intensifies.” I think that would give him a cool extra dimension that would make his stand much more useful.
Huge respect for not going for the easy route of "the poison won't hurt him and / or he can pick the specific target,' and keeping his character flaw, because yes that alone would undoubtedly get the job done and make him OP, but it feels more in line of a poorly thought out fanfic and not something that you could find in the series. He's still a protagonist that should be limited or have flaws.
About the strenght/potency of the virus, he could make the virus weaker and vaccinate himself and others without the need for Giorno. It would be the developed version of Purple Haze, like with Golden Experience after the Baby Face fight. Also this development would probably happen after some event in which Fugo would learn emotional control.

If Fugo was able to control his anger for productive means he could control his stand, be that by moving the poison cloud around, changing the lethality or both. It is the one thing he as a character has to work on and it would thus reflect on his stand if he gets it done
Ye because stands are a reflection of the user and stuff, I personally think that's what I disliked about the whole disc thing in part 6 because I felt like stands are kinda a personal thing that are unique to the person who wields them. But I also assume if Girono vaccinated Fugo, that'd also give him a buff combat wise. Really of Fugo didn't leave and Girono vaccinated him his developmental potential instantly skyrockets combat wise.

Even with purple haze being buffed, I don’t think it’d work on pucci with mih. The virus dissipates over time and dies out even quicker in sunlight so the time acceleration effect would decrease the viruses lifetime while also having a continuous amount of daylight to kill off the virus even faster. The only way to counter this is if you either attach the lifetime of the virus with fugo’s life or let him control how long the virus stays active.
Remember that the time acceleration doesn’t effect living things, so depending on if your consider viruses living organism (they reproduce within a host cell, have nucliec acids , RNA and DNA as their genetic materials) then the virus wouldn’t experience the acceleration, meaning the virus would still work in the acceleration, I do think though that whatever airborn particles the virus is attached to, is still effected by the acceleration, so if they virus is attached to airborne particles and needs to be attached to those particles to well, be airborne, then that might nullify it
Theres always a storm for a calm sky, always blazing heat or fridged cold for every moderate day, what if fugo learned how to calm his rage and it allowed purple haze to evolve into allowing fugo to fully control his virus, like how one can control their rage into a none destructive way.

I would like to see Fugo become more "mature" since he was only 16 years or in Golden Wind there would be alot of time for him to get a hold of his angee issues and possible make his stand controllable, that would be very interesting. My proposal for how to buff Purple Haze is to forgo the capsules altogether. Instead, make the stand itself the container of the virus. Releasing the virus would require PH to injure itself or get injured by someone else. It would mean making a direct attack against PH would come at a significant risk to the user, but also that Fugo can't use the full power of PH without putting himself at risk too.

I always thought Araki wanted to give one of the good characters an ability usually reserved for villains and got quite a bit overwhelmed with the implications. It would be far better for a solo user who can reasonably protect himself from its own virus (or be immune). Maybe that's why he wrote Fugo out of the story. He tried, didn't work, write Fugo out kinda way.

I feel like a really strong change would be making it so the virus only applies to stands, representing fugo learning to direct his anger, as well as rising to the challenge of la squadra and diavolo's guards. It'd make him hard to work around in a fight, but if it's just him and enemy stand users, he gets close enough they're dead regardless of their stand
Honestly I'd just have the stand that manifests as a suit around Fugo with the same abilites and strength as Purple Haze that gives him protection from the virus itself. Similar to White Album and Oasis where the users are immune to the effects of their own stands. He could even smash his knuckles together to break the viruses and form a cloud that follows him.

I'm reading the manga now, and it striking how clear the initial position of Fugo in the story was. I read online that Araki was planning to make him a traitor, but couldn't do it, feeling bad for the character, and nerfed him out the story. Don't know how true that it, but I'll tell ya - the Cioccolata vs. Giorno fight clearly supposed to be Purple Haze vs. Gold Experience. First - in the manga, in the stand description, it said that Purple Haze didn't reach it's full potential yet. Why leave that at the description if you didn't have in mind to use it later? Chekhov's Gun if you ask me. Another moment of that sort - in Fugo's past, where he warns Bruno that one day he might kill him, because that's his nature. Second - Purple Haze and Green Day are the same type. Infection stands that melts people's flesh off. Third - I can see the idea that Araki might had for a fight. See, figuratively speaking, Giorno can create life. Considering all that Dio (literally means 'God' in Italian) linage mentions, plus him being against a literal Devil ('Diavolo'), he's that 'son of God' character. But virus is not a living nor a dead creature. It's can use any environment to multiply, which is beyond Giorno's initial abilities. And would make a fight incredibly epic with all of the ideas that presented: the question of loyalty and betrayal, what it actually means to be alive, ect. But, besides the fact that Araki felt bad for Fugo, he also faced a narrative problem - in Illuso arc he made Giorno immune to Purple Haze. Maybe at first he thought that he would use the Chekhov's Gun with evolving Purple Haze virus (and also preposition the metaphoric 'evolution' of Fugo as the character), and that would make Giorno's position even more difficult, fighting new strong Purple Haze virus and an ex comrade. But it would potentially nerf Giorno himself too early, if making Purple Haze too op. So, in the end, it's hard to tell what the idea about Fugo's stand evolution was, but it's obviously there, for me at least.

They aren’t technically living and thus wouldn’t be affected by a virus that requires living cells to infect. After it infects, it rapidly multiples and deteriorates the body by overriding the metabolic process and killing the tissue. However, a vampire is undead therefore the virus shouldn't be able to infect the body to begin. There’s also no multiplication since again, the cells are dead. Metabolism is arguable, however the fact that vampires are undead, the virus shouldn’t have a means to interact with the organism.
Though mold functions differently from that of a virus, Bruno had a similar case in the Green Day and Secco fight. He was immune to Green Day’s mold because he was undead and thus had no means of transmission.
Fights can be a lot more complicated when looking at the specifics, however when looking at the bare-bottoms (of the confrontation), it can make sense.

I would like to see Fugo become more "mature" since he was only 16 years or in Golden Wind there would be alot of time for him to get a hold of his angee issues and possible make his stand controllable, that would be very interesting. My proposal for how to buff Purple Haze is to forgo the capsules altogether. Instead, make the stand itself the container of the virus. Releasing the virus would require PH to injure itself or get injured by someone else. It would mean making a direct attack against PH would come at a significant risk to the user, but also that Fugo can't use the full power of PH without putting himself at risk too.

I always thought Araki wanted to give one of the good characters an ability usually reserved for villains and got quite a bit overwhelmed with the implications. It would be far better for a solo user who can reasonably protect himself from its own virus (or be immune). Maybe that's why he wrote Fugo out of the story. He tried, didn't work, write Fugo out kinda way.
Fugo WAS gonna be a villain, he was originally supposed to betray the team but Araki thought that would be too sad and didn't write it

I feel like a really strong change would be making it so the virus only applies to stands, representing fugo learning to direct his anger, as well as rising to the challenge of la squadra and diavolo's guards. It'd make him hard to work around in a fight, but if it's just him and enemy stand users, he gets close enough they're dead regardless of their stand

Fugo is my favorite part 5 character and Purple Haze Is one of my favorite stands
Honestly I'd just have the stand that manifests as a suit around Fugo with the same abilites and strength as Purple Haze that gives him protection from the virus itself. Similar to White Album and Oasis where the users are immune to the effects of their own stands. He could even smash his knuckles together to break the viruses and form a cloud that follows him.
I understand not wanting to change the lack of control and violent rage part of purple haze, but if fugo was really hit with the requiem arrow (the only in-univserse way of changing your stand) it would give him what he needed most, which is control, what that would look lile is up for debate, but im thinking;
-fugo can neutralize the virus at will
-purple haze's virus will no longer harm allies or fugo himself, and fugo has increased mechanical control over the actions purple haze does
-fugo can delay or accelerate the development of the virus in an infected victim he can control the rate at which it spreads in an area along with the radius
If fugo had no anger issues in his personality, he could probably control his stand well.

Also I think moody blues is a great stand already cuz a huge parts about jojo fights is learning the enemies ability so you can counter it and moody blues really helps with that and I also think this additional would just make it do what it's great at even better

I'm reading the manga now, and it striking how clear the initial position of Fugo in the story was. I read online that Araki was planning to make him a traitor, but couldn't do it, feeling bad for the character, and nerfed him out the story. Don't know how true that it, but I'll tell ya - the Cioccolata vs. Giorno fight clearly supposed to be Purple Haze vs. Gold Experience. First - in the manga, in the stand description, it said that Purple Haze didn't reach it's full potential yet. Why leave that at the description if you didn't have in mind to use it later? Chekhov's Gun if you ask me. Another moment of that sort - in Fugo's past, where he warns Bruno that one day he might kill him, because that's his nature. Second - Purple Haze and Green Day are the same type. Infection stands that melts people's flesh off. Third - I can see the idea that Araki might had for a fight. See, figuratively speaking, Giorno can create life. Considering all that Dio (literally means 'God' in Italian) linage mentions, plus him being against a literal Devil ('Diavolo'), he's that 'son of God' character. But virus is not a living nor a dead creature. It's can use any environment to multiply, which is beyond Giorno's initial abilities. And would make a fight incredibly epic with all of the ideas that presented: the question of loyalty and betrayal, what it actually means to be alive, ect. But, besides the fact that Araki felt bad for Fugo, he also faced a narrative problem - in Illuso arc he made Giorno immune to Purple Haze. Maybe at first he thought that he would use the Chekhov's Gun with evolving Purple Haze virus (and also preposition the metaphoric 'evolution' of Fugo as the character), and that would make Giorno's position even more difficult, fighting new strong Purple Haze virus and an ex comrade. But it would potentially nerf Giorno himself too early, if making Purple Haze too op.
So, in the end, it's hard to tell what the idea about Fugo's stand evolution was, but it's obviously there, for me at least.

Je ne suis ni un expert en histoire ni en économie, mais je pense pas qu'il faut être un expert pour savoir qu'une colonisation c'est mauvais pour le développement d'un pays dans tout les domaines, c'est bien de construire des hôpitaux et des écoles et différents type d'infrastructures mais c'était la populace locale qui travaillait au péril de leurs vie et surtout sans aucune compensation, et n'oublions pas que ce n'était pas pour la charité mais plus pour les colons qui arrivaient de France, les enfants des pays colonisé n'était pas scolarisé et ne recevait aucun réel traitement medical la population locale était massacré torturé et tué, sans parlé des différents test d'armes sur la population, ensuite le manque de personnes éduqués et compétents pour diriger les différentes branche du pays(éducation santé économie etc...) entrainera sûrement une crise après l'indépendance et ce pendant plusieurs années et meme des décennies en prenant compte le manque de matières premières (la France qui rase tout) et le colonisé qui sera dépendent du colonisateur (manque de partenaires comercial parceque honnêtement qui veut traité avec un pays instable et fraîchement indépendant),les incessantes lutte de pouvoir qui nous savons tous sont orchestré par la France pour ne pas perdre le contrôle sur les anciennes colonies, tout ce ceci mènera a une difficulté de se développer.

After it infects, it rapidly multiples and deteriorates the body by overriding the metabolic process and killing the tissue. However, a vampire is undead therefore the virus shouldn't be able to infect the body to begin. There’s also no multiplication since again, the cells are dead. Metabolism is arguable, however the fact that vampires are undead, the virus shouldn’t have a means to interact with the organism.
Though mold functions differently from that of a virus, Bruno had a similar case in the Green Day and Secco fight. He was immune to Green Day’s mold because he was undead and thus had no means of transmission.
Diavalo could easily replace DIO as per your example and it works similarly.
Fights can be a lot more complicated when looking at the specifics, however when looking at the bare-bottoms (of the confrontation), it can make sense.
