I personally believe they shouldn’t have been mad at anybody. They knew what they meant. When they told them that this was going to be a survival show that meant fans were going to vote and fans are going to vote however they’re gonna vote right? That wasn’t her fault the training part I understand their frustrations and stuff with her but like it was sad she literally had zero experience in this, and to go from something that she’s used to living her life that we know to training to be this international Pop star it’s a lot on the person and I feel like her being one of the only black girls on the series I feel like that also probably took a toll on her and the fact that they weren’t trying to understand her side at first it’s frustrating
They should’ve befriended Manon. Had it been, I would’ve told that girl, alright. If you gonna be in the top 6? Then imma just have to make sure you show up everyday cuz no way you’re debuting over me and not here.

honestly they didn't bring in any competition for Manon. Like they recruited other girls for dancer and singer positions, but didn't bring in anyone else for a visual/center position. She was fr the only on they got for "star power", they knew she was debuting from the beginning. The girls probably didn't understand that Manon was never their competition fr, her spot was secured 😭
HEAVY on this part. I (MJ) believe Lexi was supposed to be her competition in the visual field but sadly Lexi didn’t have that IT factor or drive. Most of the girls were too worried about keeping friendships than being stars fr.
People keep saying that but I think Samara had potential if not for the scandal. Higher ranked + one of the most dedicated fanbases country-popularity wise, and most of the other girls wanted her in the group.

i 100% can see both sides but idk why the internet was so mad at the girls expressing how they felt about it when they were in the ones in the position to be eliminated . manon has definitely grown into herself bc i was kind of “meh” towards everything aside from her visual/star quality. but i think hybe knew they wanted manon to debut from the moment they scouted her. bc how are you able to break rules, able to live off “campus” , not show up & not be kicked out. i think that added fuel to whatever the girls were already feeling about her, bc i’m sure some of the other girls would have loved to live off campus too if they were given the option. it kinda gave preferential treatment in that sense. in the end she proved herself and i’m happy for that. i’d love to hear your take on a video by everglow-up , they made a vid about katseye and the whole process arguing adelas perspective..
I agree heavily on everything. Manon put herself in a spot that she didn’t care about until she had no choice (ep 6, it kinda seems like her going to Korea was the moment she was like fuck it imma be serious, cuz she has no where to go now except being around the girls)
While I do agree with the girls frustration. They as contestants and potential idol’s handled it poorly and I think it came from them not knowing what to really expect. A true team player is someone that’s gonna get the job done period, if it means them losing or getting kicked out. The moment the girls realized Manon gets special treatment should’ve been the moment the girls tried to reason with her rather than make her feel different.

I think this episode just did a wild job at making Manon the center of topic 😭😭😭 They could’ve let us know. But they caught her red handed skipping, the girls definitely deserved to vent in therapy.
This show made me love Son so much because if he wasn’t there them Geffen execs would’ve cut Manon from the program or rigged her out but HYBE definitely pushed for her as the face of the group. When it comes to the whole issue of her and the other girls I feel like if they talked to her collectively about the situation she would’ve buckled down but they were all doing it one away in a shady way and you can tell jealousy had to do with it. Adela was weird for that whole Slovak representation thing because you see white women like her in media everyday,she was mad that a black girl got the most support from Europe over her which made me side eye her. Nikky and Missy were bias af too they loved Adela and Emily for dance yet they said Naisha was on the weak end of dancing which rubbed me the wrong way they weren’t shy about their microaggression

Nikki and Missy were not shy at all and it’s crazy cuz we avoided watching their commentary during “Dream Academy” after their first commentary release and we felt like they were too bias. so to see the behind the scenes and be confirmed that they in fact were trying to pick OPPOSITE of Hybe (even tho it was their training they were using) just gave me a big ick.
I’m very shocked tho that Hybe was so in love with Manon like this. For Son to have told her it’s not about talent, must’ve meant Manon was probably going to leave/try to leave. Our theory is Son talked her out of it and they pulled strings to make Manon feel comfortable enough not to leave. Which is why Nikki was so irritated when explaining it, because that was NOT something she agreed with.

I love the comparison to bts jin to manon. Some may say that was a reach and how you could possibly compare the two but jin was literally just a student who had no intentions of going into kpop and could not sing for shit (well maybe like slightly but not to the amazing level he's at rn) and was scouted by bighit, just like manon.
I used to despise Jin when I watched the dance practices then I found out he just wanted to act and I was like, okay reasonable. It was the same with Joon and Yoongi too. Them mfs were not dancers but they were good and talented in the places that they were in.
Not many people realize BTS team chemistry is what made them succeed. The fact that yeah they got on each others nerves (Jimin and Tae) but at the end of the night they was in that practice room teaching each other how to sing and dance and making sure they hold each other accountable (and themselves) for what they lacked.
KATSEYE is a fan group, but if (hopefully they have) the girls have learned how to be their own instructors and holding THEMSELVES accountable. They’ll become unstoppable.
They’re like the reverse BTS, them boys needed a platform cuz they had the plan. The girl need a plan cuz they have the platform.
Adela deserved to Debut. I think the KATSEYE lineup is perfect, but I do think Adela put in the work and unfortunately people couldn’t see that. No hate to Manon and I’m glad her country was represented as well and I think she’s perfect in the group but just because Adela is white and blonde doesn’t mean that she gets represented. When was the last time you heard of an up and coming Slovakian star? I think that’s also what she meant by Americans, everyone always looks at color and the way people look on the outside versus what’s deeper on the inside.
And yet people liked Manon because she was pretty and nice. America wrongfully looks at color so that’s a horrible comment still. Especially when the context was Daniella not being voted for or looked at as enough because she’s a LATINA in America and her not understanding how to be enough to show representation for the country… so again wtf Adela was talking about outside of trying to get a sympathy moment and then proceed to talk poorly about Manon as if Switzerland is a popular country as well. If Adela wanted to make a point she would’ve stayed in the tax bracket.
Adela didn’t deserve to debut. I don’t know WHAT group yall thought they were making but it’s not just about hard work, it’s star power too. It’s an equal combination and at this very time and moment Adela’s star power is still growing.

THANK YOU, I couldn't stand those two teachers bias towards Naisha and ESPCAILLY toward Manon.... As a teacher/trainer they should have been neutral and not have favorites.. Like the vocal teachers were NOT biased and treated all the girls equally. And they were kind. But when it comes to Missy and Krissy its a no-- next time when they do this for their global boy group they hopefully have different teachers/coaches who are not biased.
Hands down agree, when the boy group is created they need new dance instructors, even if they decide to make ANOTHER girl group, new dance instructors immediately cuz this shit was unprofessional asf. Down to them making it known they were upset that Manon was missing practicing. They gave teenagers gossiping.

I think it’s kind of weird that yall went back and forth on understanding why the girls were mad. Yall clocked Manon yourselves without the show saying anything. But when someone on the show would say something yall got mad at them. It just seemed really confusing.

It was the context. We understand both parties. While their feelings are understandable, they (the girls) still handled the situation poorly.
Yes you can be mad and upset at someone, but the animosity to which they spoke about Manon and never showing us, TOO her which was upsetting. Especially when we as both teens and women have been in their shoes. It’s completely different when our clocking Manon can’t be said to her. While they are clocking her, they’re just talking about her poor habits behind her back. Essentially talking ABOUT her. And since the series does not show us any form of confrontation on their behalf and we have heard Manon express she feels like they’re doing this. It’s frustrating.
We validated both the past, present, and our own emotions/experiences.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't blame Manon for being unwilling to literally break hips and legs like the other girls, and instead took days off. As a new dancer she was probably straining and sore a lot. I bet Lexie wishes she had taken more breaks instead of having to get surgery. Fans always say kpop idols get pushed too hard, but now that we see a black girl prioritizing her mental and physical health, it's a problem. I get why the girls felt resentment but they are ignoring the fact that some of them also went into it with unfair advantages. Many of them were trained since they were kids in either singing or dancing. Many of them had the benefit of getting support due to their country. Manon came in with a face card and a dream, and that was enough. It is what it is.
I wonder if people were like this about kpop artists that only debuted for their looks (Irene, Tzuyu, etc).
Like were people comparing them to the more talented members of their groups as harshly as people do with Manon?

I don't think Adela was comparing her representation to Manon, she was having a different conversation at that part. Her calling out Manon being lazy and her calling the need for slovakian representation are two different sentiments.
I think the camera crew just record. They’re not there to tell other people in the situation what others are doing. Otherwise, the girls wouldn’t be as natural and be on guard because there’s a “snitch” camera crew.

This episode reminded me how much I hated the mashup they did and wish they gave the dancers choreo that would actually show how good they were at dancing - so many of the dancers ranked low because of it.

Ok for the whole Manon situation the blame for everything that happened ultimately falls on hybe/geffan because they should have kicked Manon out the second she started constantly breaking rules. They were just showing the girls for some people rules don’t matter and then the public reinforced that because although Manon was eye catching most reactors at the time thought she had potential but she wasn’t skilled enough and that she was dead in the face but fans mass voted her because they wanted a black idol (which is a separate issue but not something to blame the fans for but again something to blame hybe/geffan for) the girls also aren’t dumb and could probably see that was a factor as well but they can not just say that on camera so it because a pretty issue as well. Ultimately though Manon la should have been dealt with before the survival show started but they needed a black girl and they refused to get anyone else besides Samara so they basically let all the emotions bubble up and boil over so they’d have drama for the doc.
