    Regardless of all the ‘flaws’ you mentioned, you still did an amazing job with this build. Not even the most skilled of fabricators could build something that complicated and not have things they would do differently next time. Also, can’t believe how fast you put 1000 bales through her!! Nice work man keep it up.

      Thank you very much Harrison! It was a fun build, and I kinda knew I would want to change some things after the initial build. 1000 bales came quick didn't it! Lol

    Nice overview on the grapple's performance & ideas for improvement. I look forward to seeing the improvements made on this one &/or implemented on the next one you build. Of course we'll need for a before & after improvement video. You start building those grapples for others on an as needed basis & that could work out real well for you. Then again, you could build 2 or 3 at a time to sale & probably have no problem selling them. The best part about them is that they will work on both tractor & skidsteer applications. Stay safe.

      Hey thanks bud! I may end up moving that hook gang out further, but otherwise I'll leave this one alone. It would be great if the people that are interested, follow through and I could stay busy making them for a while. That would buy me a nice new 6 disc mower! As always, thanks a lot for watching, and I hope all is well for ya!

    Cool build! For now, you could shorten your bale length. That should make the rest of your season less annoying until you can make your modifications over the winter. I keep seeing videos of these, and am thinking of trying one out. Thanks for the review!

      Usually I'm fine with my bales, it's when I'm doing custom work that I run into long bales. Sometimes I get longer bales too, but I just need to be careful. If you ever get the chance, I definitely recommend trying one out. It takes some getting use to, but in the end it's a heck of a tool!

    I have found with the custom stuff built to suit your needs from a picture or just a idea there are always things that you would change or do different. makes me wonder how many changes are dun at the manufactures before released to the public. makes me relies how much R&D goes into things

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that's the way it goes! I didn't expect it to be perfect the first time. I'm sure Maxilator has done several revisions over the years to refine their accumagrapple. Thanks a lot for watching man!

    Good to hear all ur thoughts on it! What makes ur bale length vary? How much hay is goin in the baler? Have u weighed it? Wondering about that since I want to run one on my skid

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's the sized of the windrow and speed that make them vary. Mine can vary up to 6" or so. I usually speed up in thin windrows to try and keep things even, but there will always be some longer and shorter ones. It's been that way with both my balers. I'd say go for it and make one Jake. You won't regret it man!

    I’m glad it work good. It’s sure save time ,and time- money. Man we’re still getting rain just about every day. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

      Sorry about the rain situation man! That's gota make it really difficult to get anything done. I hope things turn around for you guys quick!

    Where can I buy the hay hooks? I want to add a couple to my front row of a 10 bale accumulator.

  • @caseyfenlon2238
    @caseyfenlon2238 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you mind sharing how much all the materials costed? Also wondering if a 10 bale grapple would fit on your trailer? I have 9ft wide racks so I was thinking a 10 would work perfect but want your advice

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually made a video with the cost of each item, and what the total was. That was Hay Grapple Build Part 6. Keep in mind this build was a few years back, so prices on everything have gone up. A 10 pack wouldn't work well with a car hauler because of the fenders. If you have a deck-over, a 10 pack would be perfect! Thanks for watching

    You did a great job with that you should sell it and build a new one the way you want it! Pretty soon you will be a manufacturer of them on a larger scale! Nice work

      Lol, I would love to fabricate implements for a living! We'll see hat the next year or two bring.. it just might happen. Have a good one bud!

    that is cool. i make my bales shorter, they should be 36" but i do 38" bales. the only reason i do 38" is because they stack better for my brother. or i would do 36". sounds like it works well though.good job putting it together looks good to me.

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Howard! 36-40" is perfect. Much longer and they're not fun to handle. I appreciate ya watching, and hope all is well for ya!

    I built my own version in 1988 10 bales ad it keeps thm off the firls when moving around Works best with skid steer.

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh cool, that would be interesting to see! I'm heavily considering getting a skid steer here soon. As long as you have a tractor with a sloped hood, visibility is pretty good. You just don't have the maneuverability of the skid steer. Thanks for watching!

    • @chargermopar
      @chargermopar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's best if you use both I like the skid steer for loading in the field and a tractor to tow the hay wagon If you have a friend available to help the job goes so much faster The maneuverability is great in the skid steer as long as you don't mind some ground disruption

    You can always make all the new mods on it this winter but I think going with a shorter bale would be a better idea on the front for now just add to the runner and see if it's worth rebuilding or just move it foreword if you can but that just my idea. Keep up the great video's

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Kenny! For the bales I make it works just fine. When I really ran into the problem was picking up other peoples bales. If I'm careful, it's not an issue, I just can't move all that quick through bumpy fields.

    Nice to see you getting some use out of it. And 1000 bales that's a lot more then i got lol.

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bud! You did a lot more round bales than squares. If I could switch to mostly round bales, I would!

  • @marchindy
    @marchindy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the update, and for what you would change. Its great that you have some flexibility in the design so you can change as you learn what works better, hey if youre not learning your not living. What you made is still cool beans IMO, Rick

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly right, it takes some trial and error to make things right when you're not copping something that's tried and true. Thank you very much, and I hope all is well for you guys!

  • @adamwillems150

    You should design some plans to build the grapple with the improvements done to it and offer it for sale. I for one would pay $20-$40.00 for a set of plans

    • @jakeziegler599
      @jakeziegler599 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adam Willems I would too only problem is he would be under Patton infringements

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought about that Adam, but much like Jake said.. I'm not sure how all that works with patents and whatnot. I don't have the $15k to hire a patent lawyer and get it done! Lol. Thanks a lot for watching!
