This definitely leaves room for adding further content to the story. For instance...
Imagine if Mark was indeed kidnapped, had experienced some serious hurting at the hands of JK's team, but managed to get away somehow and find an opportunity to abduct YN...
Taking her someplace he was sure no one would ever find her...leading the readers steadily toward the door of noir...in a heart-stopping teasing of incidents between YN and her captor where Yn has to learn to start using her wits and mind against him. (But of course, meanwhile, JK has his ways of keeping track of his precious girl...)
I'd like to see her develop more confidence and trust in her husband and realize that not all things can be handled by ignoring them and sometimes some people just need to ... disappear for everyone's well-being. ;)
Maybe in the end it's even her that takes the initiative in deciding Mark's fate. Perhaps it was necessary in order to save JK, or one of his team members...teaching her that she too has a strongly possessive and protective side to her nature comparable to his own, when what is hers, is threatened. She is after all a Mafia King's wife, and we know JK saw some strength in her that made him attracted to her...
