It has - and it has been a fair few years since we made it.
Funny that the videos themselves have become ‘historical’ since we made them (as have the people who produced them😂).

It really makes you wonder how accurate the rest of the documentary is when they point the camera at the ancient village of Pill whilst talking about Seamills…. Bristol would have never grown without the skills and knowledge of the Pill men being able to get the ships up and down the river and channel. in fact it’s highly likely that the Matthew with Cabot left from Hung road in Pill as the river wasn’t navigable on one tide and sometimes took days.
when the Cabot left they needed a man with local knowledge so appointed a Pill man called James Ray to pilot her safely to sea in 1497. Pill provided the Bristol Ports with its Pilots and Hobblers/ boatman for over 500 years and the Pill Hobblers are still providing that service!
We still have the Bristol Pilots but none of them are from Pill but all understand the history of the important and dangerous job they do.

That wasn’t the Mathew but similar size it’s literally down the river from the SS Great Britain maybe it wasn’t moored that day but that definitely is not the Mathew, that being said one of the best documentaries I have seen on my hometown though !!

That's right. In this modern world we've actually gone all biblical: the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon following generations interminably. That is the New Left's way.
So, even if you are very egalitarian, anti-racist, equal opportunities there will be some virtue signaler - in this case, you - who will say: "yeah, but there were some evil people there 150 years ago, so you are evil by 'association'". Nice - I like your attitude of collective punishment......

Yet the slave trade has left the reputation of the sub Saharan parts of Africa whose people captured and sold the slaves to Arab and European traders pretty well guilt free. Odd that.

I wouldn't say it was the whole Left but there's definitely a problem on the Left with splitting the world into "oppressed" and "oppressor" groups which came in with Marx.
Still, to quote Orwell's Animal Farm, "Four legs good. Two legs bad!"

The mariners were anti slavery. It was only the rich elite like Colston and the merchant ventures who were pro slavery.
