Not only is this entertaining, but there’s so much valuable info here for young cutters.

Hickory is my favorite. I get hungry every time I cut one down.

love your work! I’m just a firewood cutter for my own use, so I’m amazed some of the problems you overcome regularly. Also beautiful country out there 👍😎

Cheers Bjarne, glad you got the tree down safe and sound and no damage to you, your chain, bar, or wedge, I guess your only loss was the insert, unless you managed to locate it?
Man, your office has got killer views, on a clear day they're even more spectacular, yeah.
Thanks for keeping it real with every reel.

That is wild how it went backwards with just a little snip of the high side wood.

Looking at the rot I suspect even if you could get wedges in it might have popped your holding wood and gone wild.
Remind me again why you like Sthil bars?
I always ran Oregon bars and chain, lots softer but if your rails got pinched you could wedge them open. Sthil bars being harder always just split a chunk out and it was ruined.

Yellow cedar smells like potatoes! Sure fire way to tell apart from red cedar. Incredible views! Nice looking wood!

Spent the most part of 16 years working on the Coast cutting down trees & quickly discovered it took balls to do such. But anytime I saw the degree of risk those Off Road Truck Drivers faced day in and day out on those treacherous haul roads, it kind of made falling feel a tad less dangerous.

Every single thing we do out here has a degree of difficulty and risk associated with our jobs. Mutual respect and watching each others backs is absolutely essential.

How many hours do you guys cut every day? Here in Washington we aren't supposed to cut more than 6 hours by law.
