In a way, it's just a formality, as in 1782 the US Congress adopted a national seal prominently featuring a bald eagle, thus making the bird essentially our overarching national symbol. Congress has similarly adopted a national flag (1777), national anthem (SSB, 1931), pledge (1942), motto (IGWT, 1956), national flower (rose, 1986), national march (S&SF, 1987), national tree (oak, 2004), and national mammal (bison, 2016). However, the US Congress had oddly not formally adopted the bald eagle as it's national *bird* until 2024. I'm glad this oversight has been corrected!
11:00 I can barely hear him ;( she’s a good speaker tell a difference. 14:28 I wish they would fix his microphone. This is painful to try to listen to. I can hear her so well.
Check this one out. Bald Eagle A bald eagle's white head may make it look bald. But actually the name comes from an old English word, "balde," meaning white. These graceful birds have been the national symbol of the United States since 1782
