I’ve been doing some thinking recently about this channel and a thought popped into my mind overnight. It’s been a really interesting journey sharing my love of the piano with everyone all over the world. It still trips me out that I spend an afternoon recording a track (it has to be the afternoon for those curious about the process, as the piano is lit by natural light - it’s best between 1pm - 4pm in the room that I’m recording in), sitting by myself in front of a piano in my music school, and that people from all over the world get to experience a very private moment of my creative process. What I find particularly interesting though is when I listen back to these interpretations, there’s a pretty strong disconnect between playing/recording the tracks and hearing them back. Without a drop of ego, I personally enjoy listening to these tracks either late at night to help me fall asleep, occasionally in the morning when I wake up to find some more motivation about working on my Radiohead songbook, but my favourite time would definitely be when I’m travelling, especially in airports or on planes, and also on public transport. As there are a lot of returning subscribers and listeners on this channel, my question to you is this: Where and when do you listen to these tracks? What are you doing? Working? Studying? Travelling? Eating breakfast? Passing out? What time of day is it? What do you see? How does it make you feel? I’d be very curious to hear your thoughts, so hit me up. As always, thanks for supporting the channel and for incorporating this music into your lives. Man, the internet blows my mind sometimes x
Mostly on "relaxed concentration". A masterpiece like this, I love to listen after University or work. Right now I'm in the final week of my examens for this semester. Studying up to 12 hours a day and trying to use every single minute I have. I don't come to play the piano during that time, but in my relaxation phases I tend to listen to these beauties more often and it brings me down really quick. Watching your fingers play at the aesthetic and sharp black and white image is pure beauty and gets me fast to this awesome mood of relaxation but focus aswell. Thanks for sharing all of this with us!
I have the luxury of being able to listen at work. I'm a land manager by trade, so I'm able to pop the headset in while working in the fields. Makes my day go by a hell of a lot faster.
After freaking hard day in college, without sleep, I still can be creative and productive with my design project, becouse I listen your absolutely amazing cover, heheh... you motivated me to back on my piano :) thank you for this beautiful cover, keep going.
When I first heard this I actually wasn’t watching the video, I just assumed you had recorded that beat like Thom did live. But then I watched it again and you were doing it the whole time with your right hand! Wow man, just wow.
Open your mouth wide A universal sigh And while the ocean blooms It's what keeps me alive So why does this still hurt? Don't blow your mind with why I'm moving out of orbit (Turning in somersaults) Turning in somersaults (A giant turtle's eyes) A giant turtle's eyes (And jellyfish float by) And jellyfish float by
7:43 everything from the crescendo to the return of the chaos to the movement of the fingers made this part absolutely extravagant. Every past emotion I’ve ever felt bows down in awe of the feeling that this shift has put upon me. This is almost beyond words, though nothing but paradoxes and mysteries can truly be beyond words. Still, this is the closest a non-mystery/paradox has ever gotten to being beyond words.
Hi all, I plan on releasing a Radiohead songbook of some of these arrangements - I am just waiting to obtain the rights from my publisher. If you'd like to keep updated as this project progresses along with other content that I release, check out joshcohenmusic.com/pianocovers. Thanks for your support everyone. Cheers, Josh :-)

Thank you man When it's rainy outside, or lost in a crowd, headphones keeping me from the city. When the sun is tired on the horizon... We never met but I think now we've got something to share, something precious, you, me, but all the people here on the internet listening to your covers. Especially in this one feels like you're inside the notes, I'm overwhelmed by all the feelings that are flooding in my head, I feel part of something more than just the instant I'm living, a place you created and shared to anyone, even here in the south of france. I'll learn this one, man you make me wanna fly. Thank you, again.
I can't thank you enough for the hours of study and repetitive architecture work that have passed more lightly thanks to your amazing renditions. Peace.

Thanks so much, Gonçalo. I've had a lot of similar feedback that the tracks are really helpful to put on in the background whilst studying. Glad that you're enjoying them! 😄
Great Job! you really captured the essencials of ALL this amazings Radiohead songs! Congrats! i think it is very difficult to make a gut working arrangement of anything! As a pianist i´m willing to buy your book as soon is ready! more of that Josh.

This man created the aura and sound of all the instruments played in the actual song flawlessly with just piano. Genius.
This was not a cover, this was a complete experience. I love your rendition of this song
1:25 This chord right here.
Amazing beautiful arrangement, but that chord just like rocks me to my absolute core, it's so visceral.
Dm9/13/F
or alternatively, Fmaj7#11/13
The beginning of this seemed impossible. I was so amazed! I really hope Radiohead gets to see this! I can just imagine York's vocals
Have you heard the version of Bloom on Thom Yorke's BBC 'Bedtime Mix'?
I don't remember Bloom ever being this beautiful...
Thanks, Jasper. Glad you liked it. Did you ever hear the BBC version that I'm referencing?
