    Thanks Rob. I'm a fixed blade kinda guy, but since I've been watching your channel and many others, I bought my first folder before Christmas. The AD-10. Now after a lot of research, and your approval, I picked up the Super Freak. Thanks brother. Looking forward to seeing what's on the menu for 2020. Cheers

    Question, do you convex grind all your blade or are they flat as well? It's hard to tell, so shinny!
    Is convex a better grind to adopt to most grinds? (Should I reprofile my flat grinds)

    Nice choices. Love my “Super” Freek too!
    I tend to carry 1 beater knife and 1 that just gives me that warm feeling inside.
    My beaters- Spyderco manix-2 in S30V, ZT O561 in Elmax, Cold Steel recon-1 or rajah-3 and my Ontario RAT-1 in D2.
    My favorite warm and fuzzy feeling knives- it would have to be my German made Boker titan worker with the most beautiful blade profile ever, the flat sabre ground drop point in good old 440C steel, thick titanium liner lock with ti bolsters and brown canvas micarta handles and my Boker Oberland EDW.1 with N690 blade steel and gray/green canvas micarta handles.
    The action of those phosphor bronze washer pivots is hard to describe. Smoother than any ball bearing pivot around and both will sloooowly lower their blades into the handle in one smooth, flowing motion from gravity alone. Uuuhhhhh…….buttah…
    Im feeling warm just talking about it!

    I use my Super Freek like a rented mule. Not a scratch on the coating yet, and that M4 is really tough. Benchmade did a fine job on the heat treating. Only sharpened mine a couple of times, and that’s my only complaint about M4. Takes a long time to get the edge I want.

    The smooth G10 was a Knifecenter exc. I have the entire series..absolutely LOVE the Cruwear!

    Nice edges! Iam new to sharpening and starting to notice that two different steels, sharpened the same, don't come out exactly sharp. What grit do you go up to for a mirror edge?

    Ya, Bugout with al- lu-min-eee-um seems to be a keeper. Me, I ended up with a Native gray with Maxamet. Luv that steel. Other is Native in cf with s90v, screaming sharp.

    Guy who claimed the Bugout is overrated is the type of guy is constantly talking about lock strength and the need to baton with a folding knife.

    • @robertlefeaux
      @robertlefeaux 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean the kind of guy who thinks a spine whack test is an accurate measure of lock strength?

    • @nintendontbutdo5507
      @nintendontbutdo5507 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bugout is the most perfect knife to carry in your pocket for sure imo. Light and blade has great stainless steel and shape. Whacking this type of knife on the spine to test the lock is just a dumb idea if you ask me. The lock is way good enough for a pocket knife. If i want a knife that i can beat the crap out of i will go with a fixed blade all day long.

    My para 3 is cruwear as well, but with grey g10. I love that steel. I'm with you on the clip. Replaced it with a lynch clip, and all is well.

  • @timbo4374
    @timbo4374 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm jealous of that M4 PM2. I have really grown fond of M4. I always new it was a great steel, but shied away from it because of the corrosion factor, and I don't like coated blades, but now that I've experienced it with my M4 Shaman, I'm in love with it. That and Cruwear are my favorites!

    Great collection I share your taste in knives, I think my most carried knife is my Benchmade Osborne s30v. I like the size and the steel holds its edge good. Great video Thank You for sharing.

    The CPM Cruwear is a Knifecenter exclusive. I have both the PM2 and a Para 3. The Para 3 G10 is much better than the PM2'S. The good news is that Casey Lynch pocket clip solves the Para 3's problem, and some Marbled CF solved the PM2'S problem lol. Great steel

    I didn't like the bugout I handled with the FRN or G10 scales, felt chincy, i think aluminum or titanium scales would make it feel much sturdier in hand. Really like the look of the Sebenzas, haven't been able to handle one yet though.

      Carl Gonzales Great question Carl! It’s probably a virtual tie between the. Benchmade 940 and Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Those two are far and away my most sharpened knives.

    @theapostleP are you really carrying a bugout over the 940??? Is the modded bugout a better carry ?

    • @timbo4374
      @timbo4374 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a better slicer..much thinner bte, and better blade geometry over all, but it's really a matter of personal preference. We all have our own preferences.

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alas, this very Bugout was in my pocket far more than my 940 this year. It's so unassuming, but so perfect in so many ways...

    • @AlexanderSLeBlanc
      @AlexanderSLeBlanc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erik Ramaekers I like the aesthetics of traditional knives but can’t cater past the fact that most don’t have any kind of clip or locking mechanism. The worst knife injuries I have sustained shave all been with slip joints.
