Holy shit! These guys are incredible! Damn all the American radio and TV for burying REAL music like this in favor of the rap and boy band garbage! THIS IS TALENT!!!
I'm just finding out about Dallas passing away. I'm crying. What a phenomenal person. I'm so blessed to have seen him live and to have had a chance to chat with him after a show in Vancouver. He will be sorely missed.
one of the great live bands that i have ever seen. I have seen over 1500 bands from the biggies like The Stones The Who in their prime and everone in between. The Sadies bring it ever time that i have seen them and that number stands at 15. Great great band. LONG LIVE THE SADIES
Canada's Best without a doubt , happy & lucky to have seen them a dozen times over 20 years ?!? Crazy ... a friend brought Dallas & Sean over to my house early 90's , I never knew a thing about them other than my fellow music loving friend raving about them . I happened to play on my stereo during their visit some Flaming Groovies & some 70's era The Pirates , little did I know !! They later dedicated Voodoo to me that night , surprised & of course a huge fan ever since ... Not To Be Missed When Near !! Always
This really captures how good they were live. I was lucky to see them a number of times - always brilliant. RIP Dallas. Thoughts to the band and friends and family.
What a big loss for his family I saw them a few years ago at the "Monkeys Music Club" in Hamburg - I was impressed! What a big loss for us all! R*I*P Dallas
i saw them in Spain and followed them on a bunch of gigs near Santander and the Basque region. They are totally amazing gentlemen and party!! smart, dapper and wise!! Love The Sadies....Peace Ted
Horseshoe New Year's shows were legendary. The El Mocambo show upstairs with Andre Williams was too - Sadies added such menace to his sound...Dallas introduced me to Lee Hazelwood through the Sadies covering him, and he did the vocals such justice. Goddamit
Over rated Solos are too long and their music is not nearly commercial enough to be interesting for a whole show Plus they are boring to look at...zero stage presence I like them a lot...but...they will never be anything big because they lack direction and good management as well as star appeal
Trevor McNeely Once...they were fronting for Blue Rodeo ..Im a musician myself...and loved the technical playing...the solos were amazing but I play and am able to appreciate them more than the average fan My point was they will never be big...never get airtime...because they lack star power and for the other reasons I listed above That's not a bad thing in my opinion They remain true to their artistic creativity but...lets face it...they are playing to a very small niche market with their style as it is today Most people have never heard of the Sadies
❤ tђє ςคยϟє ๏Ŧ ฬєt קคภtเєϟ ❤ Hardly overrated. There are billions of bands that are more boring to look at. Commercial music is overrated. The Sadies will be more memorable than most of the commercial acts out there today.
Just saw them open for Neil Young on Friday! They played each one of these songs and it was an amazing night! Managed to have floor seats and got second row!
Truly genre blending music. Great mix of country + psychedelic +60-70s retro rock enveloped in a haunting Ennio Morricone soundtrack and updated to this century
thanks for this, been listening to these guys for 10 years now and their albums make me feel alive, like so many other truly great Canadian acts.....NOW go tell Stipe to put down the bong and produce the Vic Chesnutt DVD, already!
A staple from Toronto and the Matador of the 80's....Saw you guys tonight with Blue Rodeo and Respect but went for YOU!!!! Hotter and cooler than ever.....OUCH!
saw these guys open up for Niel young in Toronto, first time seeing them very cool! Randy Bachman joined them for a ripping version of No Time. Was in the front row.
@InuitAldebaran I hear ya. That's why The Sadies pocket of the universe was such an excellent place to exchange information for a few moments. Because YOU see, I'm not REALLY in either. Until next time...
@millicentbistander Peter Hammill: "A passenger hits the cockpit, willing to chance his game: pulls out his gun and cocks it in the hope that it all might change. (Oh, but it never will...) Now they just wait for the beat of the silk-worm wing, wait for the heat to come down on us full force of the law." Hear you later, bro, i'm not REALLY in, see?
Gentlemen 🍄 , PLEASE, DO keep eating pills, keep drinking heavenly, do fall in (and out of) love (and repeat), and keep on living hard and rollin’ on cause I dig your sounds, I really dig you guyZ! 🍻
So incredibly bummed to hear of Dallas’ passing this morning. Another unbelievably great Canadian musician lost. RIP, brother. 💔

Just saw them open for Neil Young on Friday! They played each one of these songs and it was an amazing night! Managed to have floor seats and got second row!
About to go see these guys tonight in a small hall in rural Nova Scotia. I am pretty excited!

@millicentbistander
...like perceiving a deja-vu from the viewing angle of the deja-vued.
RIP Dallas
I just seen them with Gord Downie
Are the shirts a tribute to Gram Parson's Nudie Suits. Or at least inspired by,
Its called The Side Track off of Tales of the Rat Fink Soundtrack i think

Talk about your Recording Angels, eh? G-D prefers them like this now, well-suited to dark times...
