      I got into air guns a couple years ago for budget-friendly backyard shooting fun. I've accumulated a couple Hatsan's, and a couple of PCP rifles. These break-barrel guns are a bit of a challenge to shoot well, but they can deliver with the right technique....not so different from archery...smile. Glad you enjoyed the vid, and have a great day!

    Serious Solid Impact 💪🙂👍. I received a Walther Talon Magnum 22 from Big J's Custom Airguns, fully disassembled. This was the precursor to the Hatsan 125. I have everything put together, but can't get the trigger to function. I'm going to try to modify it to make it work 🙂👍.

    Nice Video. I just bought a 125 sniper (vortex) in the 6.35 version. That thing got a huge punch

    Not bad! My Hatsan is the Carnivore 130 in .30 caliber. The gas-piston is quite a bitch to cock, but not too bad if you don't plan on shooting it all day.

      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those 30-cal's look like a lot of fun. I go two-handed on cocking the 125. Supposedly around 50 lbs of cocking effort.

      I've found the air rifles are a lot of fun and enjoyment. Nice for low-cost backyard shooting.

    The model 125 and 135 have a Pcp style fill port on the piston. Pull your stock off and you'll see it. It's rated for 150 Bar, should you wish to increase the power of that rifle. I personally own the Hatsan 125 in 25 cal, 125 sniper in 22 cal, and the mighty 135 carnivore 30 cal. All these rifles have the fill port that will use the Hatsan Pcp fill probe.

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I've added a little air to my 25 cal. I raised it to 160 Bar. Didn't increase velocity at all. Since I'm at 4000 ft elevation, the air is a little thin, so there is just going to be some velocity loss as compared to lower elevation. I'm still getting 27-28 ft-lbs, so it's still a good amount of power. Thanks for sharing your comment!

      @@shanepitzer4126 hi .
      my rifle is 22 caliber. How much should the power be increased? Can it be done with a pump? please write detailed answer . Thanks

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ali-313AMS Yes it can be done with a PCP style of hand pump. That is what I used. I didn't gain any power at all, going from 2150 bar to 160 bar, but it is a little harder to cock. There is only so much air in the air chamber. I have heard of others doing this to gain s0ome velocity, but It's not really clear how much. I have only tried this on one rifle, so I'm not much help, sorry.

      @@Ali-313AMS I was checking out a couple of your videos shooting the Hatsan 125. Nice shooting at distance! I also have a 22 caliber Hatsan 125. Between the 22 and 25, my 22 caliber is the better shooter. Especially with the JSB 18.13 gr pellets. I have only shot it to 70 yards or so. Your example inspires me to go further.

    Very cool Shane ... nice rifle. I have a really nice all metal Sig Sauer P226 Co2 Blowback Pistol that holds 16 rounds of .177 cal BBs and shoots 480 fps .... they really are not toys, and need to be respected! That's a very nice air riffle. I may look into getting one or maybe a shotgun if I can get one for a decent price ... with my medical bills, firearms, bows & arrows are not a top priority for purchase these days, although I did just get a new bow of 12 Accmos arrows that were pretty cheap because I had a gift card for $10 off. 😁

      Hey Joe! I got into air guns a couple years ago. No pistols, but I'm up to 5 rifles. I'm doing good though, haven't bought any more in over a year, I think I've hit saturation....grin. I've always liked and had guns, and reloading gear. I don't show too much of that interest online. Pretty good selection of rifles, handguns, a couple shottys. My most recent acquisition is a Ruger bolt action 300 Blackout. Might get into the suppressor game someday, but not anytime soon. But yes, these air guns have significant power. Mine are all 22 and 25 calibers. I see some in 30, 35, 45, 50, and 62 cal that are serious powerhouse big game capable rigs. Take care brother, and keep on enjoying. Always enjoy your vids. 🏹

    Nice video Do you recommend hunting medium to large game with head shot 35 yards and closer

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend hunting anything larger than rabbits with a gun of this power. For medium to big game, there are far more powerful air rifles around, if you look into the 35+ caliber PCP guns.

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you consider a 22 rimfire delivers about 120 ft-lbs of energy, and this air gun only delivers about 28 ft-lbs.

    Guys how is the trajectory of the .25 cal at 100 yards??

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never shot the 25 cal to 100 yards, mac for me was 70 yards, and it was down about 6" or so from a 40 yard zero. Probably a bit flatter shooting at lower elevation given the faster muzzle velocity with the thicker atmo.

  • @kirbycreekmo
    @kirbycreekmo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Impressive. How is the accuracy?

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will hold under an inch at 25 yards, with mr pulling the trigger. I had it scoped last summer, and was able to plink soda cans at 70 yards. I pulled the scope to put on a PCP air rifle, so down to irons at the moment.

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know how familiar you are with break-barrel air rifles, but they do require some finesse to get the best out of them. They are very temperamental regarding hold technique.

    • @kirbycreekmo
      @kirbycreekmo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shanepitzer4126 Years ago I had one. "Took some time to become proficient with the "artillery hold." Eventually sold it, now I'm considering another - while they are still inexpensive... relatively anyway.

    • @shanepitzer4126
      @shanepitzer4126  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kirbycreekmo Yeah, everything is going up. I got into air guns a couple years ago, to enjoy some low-cost shooting. They are enjoyable. As break-barrels go, this one is one of the most powerful, and that makes it that much more challenging to shoot well. I've got these 125s in 22 and 25 cal. The 22 like a hard hold, the 25 likes an gently hold...you just never know until you spend some time with one.
