Thanks for watching. After getting this mower put back together it's now time to get it running. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
First.. a bucket full of parts??? That'll be a great load of fun to do...maybe extra parts, maybe missing parts... Be a challenge, like a puzzle..
it was actually quite fun putting it back together. Best jigsaw puzzle ever.
@@HomeGaragechannel right? It's half the fun! I have an old Noma that looks like it was buried under a leaf pile. Recoil is frozen, there is moss growing on the shroud and muffler... But the Briggs engine looks good, and rotates fine pushing the blade around. Gonna be a fun restoration for my channel (not this acct). Have an old Tecumseh lawnmower engine too that we found in a forest. Either gonna be a tear down, or a restore..but no idea the model engine, but it's OLD, and the engine doesn't turn.
Gonna be a couple of really fun projects!
@@HomeGaragechannel 2nd this!
I have this same mower. I trash picked it. I spent 20 dollars to fix it. Broke cable. Thanks for sharing
thank you for watching
Yes I do that mowers are worth fixing
awesome!
Those are definitely worth fixing. I’d forget about the battery start though. Not worth it in my humble opinion.
I recently had a carb that was as clean as this one. However I chose to take it off and do a full cleaning. When putting it back on I dropped it and shattered the throttle mechanism. $42 Canadian to replace it. Lesson learned.
Cheers for all you do
thank you for sharing your experience and yes key start is not for everyone
Yes, they are worth saving. I've been on the lookout for mowers around here for a friend who wants to fix and sell mowers for some extra money. It's amazing what you see.
nice choice and yes I can believe that
Yep for sure no worries mate.
It's definitely worth fixing. 👍
you are right about that
Fix it yes
Right on!
A lot of times when people take apart a lawnmower there’s nothing wrong with it sometimes it’s operator error
yes, I can see that happening
great video im heading to my grandparents and they have a broken mower i want fix
good luck with it.
my mower works again
thx (:
Good to hear!
My main concern was the nasty gunk in the air cleaner that looks like dirt or rust I definitely wouldn't want to suck any of that in the carburetor
I have to agree with you on that.
My Toro that I bought last year the flywheel nut came undone I was trying to figure out what could be the problem why it wouldn't start. I went to grab a hold of the nut it was loose. I went ahead and took it off so I could check the flywheel key the key was fine it was just a nut came undone put the nut back on start it right up. Must have been made on a Friday I thought I'd tell you funny I've never had that happen how was the first time for everything thank you for the video
wow that's a strange situation to be in
Just last week I picked up a mower exactly like this for free to fix up. I have to rebuild the carb because all the rubber gaskets and parts inside are mush, but its pretty complete and free is free.
I hope you get it running again. Thanks for sharing
Definitely a good mower there. I just recently picked up a push start mower that was over filled on oil and left on the road....forget the brand name.. but same motor on this one. Only thing is to charge the battery but i need a charger for it. I almost want to keep it.... it's a nice mower too fairly newish id say but i gotta sell it.... my 15yr old toro is my baby tho.
I like the toro too! very good mowers
I had found one of those mowers for free and I got it to work and everything but the wheels would lock up after every 5feet and right at the moment of selling it as is. I realize it was missing the waffle washer 😔 oh well live and learn
thank you for the information
@HomeGaragechannel of course it's the least I can do concerning all the helpful information your videos do for me as well for others
I had really good luck with using a multipurpose oil to lubricate the cables. It takes a few minutes and a bit of patience's to put a few drops at a time at the top of the cable until it runs out a the bottom but they work really well now and don't anticipate having to ever replace, hopefully!!!!!
I like your persistence
Enjoy your video's and your sarcasm lol
I know this is completely unrelated to this video, but the information I’m looking for, I can’t find anywhere. Again, sorry for the long comment. I’m working on a toro personal pace, model 20093. It’s a mower that belonged to my girlfriend’s dad who unfortunately passed away about 5 years ago. We’ve had it here since last summer and only used it once or twice. Before that, it was just sitting in her mothers shed for the past 5 years. So it was running rough. The main thing you notice when first starting it is an intermittent vibration noise. I took the blade assembly apart and first noticed the blade break was gouged into because whoever worked on it last put it back together wrong. So I replaced the blade break along with the belt because that was heavily damaged as well. After putting it back together I was expecting the vibration to be fixed. However, the vibration is still present, though quieter. So my next guess was maybe the shaft is bent because I noticed when the blade assembly is fully put together, it is a little wobbly. I’m not sure if this is normal or not, I’m very new to small engine repairs. So, I decided I was going to look into the shaft, but first I took the top assembly apart to see if anything is loose under the hood that may cause vibration. Being as how the vibration got quieter after replacing the belt however, I kind of figured it wasn’t an engine issue or anything under the housing, but like I said, I’m new to all this. Upon inspection I noticed the thermostat bar is wobbly, you can easily move it side to side. So my question is, is that normal for a thermostat bar to feel that lose and wiggle side to side or is it supposed to be tighter and if so, how do I tighten it? Honestly, this is very frustrating to me because I thought I was finally going to have this mower ready for use today, but with that vibration I don’t feel safe putting it to work just yet. Other than the vibration, it starts up perfectly on the first pull each time. I’m putting my heart and soul into this project because of the sentimental value it holds to her and it’s been a tough task. With all the work I’ve put into and all the frustrations, it feels like this project is starting to mean more to me than it does her. Right now I’m at a loss and can’t find any information on the thermostat bar or any videos explaining how it’s supposed to be properly replaced if need be. I watch your videos literally every single day learning as much as I can, so I thought I’d reach out to you and see if you could give me some insight on this issue I’m dealing with. If you have any idea what may be causing it, I would appreciate some feedback. Thank you.
the linkage for the thermostat being loose in not an issue. Does the mower have the original blade adaptor, blade and plate the goes over the blade? If the plate is missing it could cause the noise
It has the original plate which I am replacing since it got put in wrong and may have gotten deformed. The blade assembly is also original. The plate is the piece I noticed that was put on wrong when I first took it apart. It was put in backwards so instead of the lip of the plate being over the shield, it was under it cutting into the brake pad. After further inspection, I did notice one of the springs is close to the break clutch and a nut, making me think that maybe the spring is just vibrating and hitting one or both of those areas. Not sure if that’s the cause or not and if it is, is there something I can do to make it stop or reduce it. I don’t want to call this part of the project done until I figure it out.
I don't think there's much you can do to reduce it.
@@HomeGaragechannel I actually finally figured it out. Turns out it was the break clutch bearings that were worn out. Just replaced them today after spending 2 days and a lot of frustration with a few naughty words getting the old ones out. Fired it up and the vibration was gone and it’s ready to be put to work 👍.
All 8 of mine were old and ran like new. I oil the deck wheels on the battery job about ever other time it's used and grease the front wheels every 20 hours. It just has 2 grease fittings on the front wheels and that's it. Blow it off every time too. Keeping it pretty. The neighbors are bragging on it. Hope to keep it that way. Happy weekend!
Wow.. you're very good at your maintenance routine
@@HomeGaragechannel I had to learn too and you see the concequences of not doing it. And a little slack never hurt anything.
@@HomeGaragechannel Being a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, you find out it's easier to steer and operate if it's lubed up than dry and screeching!
you got that right
@@HomeGaragechannel Boss might not do it but I sure do it here at home!
I have a 2021 Craftsman turn tight series tractor.. Kohler 7000 series engine 22 horsepower V twin 725cc design after the Kohler command commercial pro engine 3 year unlimited hours warranty..5 year warranty on the full frame.. metal hood 46" cut dry weight 630 pounds 3.1 gallon full tank Cruz control it's built like a little tank I'll have decades with this tractor..
I would have agreed with you up until you mentioned the engine. All I can say is watch the oil level, otherwise you're going to see an oil mist coming from it.
Looks like you have a good runner there. It cleaned up really nice. Question: What do you use for a fuel stabilizer? I used to use Sta-bil, but found that sometimes if you don't use the equipment for a long time (year or more) it tends to gel the fuel causing carb issues. I totally believe in Sea Foam. I use it in all of my mowers, boat, weed eater, blower vac, chain saw, etc. Thanks in advance for answer.
I'm the exact opposite, I've found other stabilizer to gel, and that Sta-Bil is the best. Lots of other channels have shown that Sta-Bil works much better than most others. But I would use what you feel is best for your situation . I've tried to use Sea Foam, but I like Sta-Bil better
If it puts coin in your pocket it’s always worth it
totally have to agree
What app do you use to find out about your free mowers in your area
sure, I use Craigslist and FB marketplace
My air filter on my mower with this same engine has a pre screen on the air filter..like a thin mesh green screen .is it needed as your mower didn’t?
👍🏻
it's not needed but it would be nice to have as it'll catch all the larger pieces of grass.
Can I ask what spray lubricant you use or recommend for cables and all the other places where you use a spray lubricant?
just WD-40 because it's something you might already have. There are much better sprays to use, but it's up to you if you want to pay for them.
@@HomeGaragechannel thanks!
no problem
look at 8:33 on your video..Rear left wheel looks like the entire wheel is jumping...FYI...
yes I noticed
any idea why one of my drive wheels is not rotating, I already replaced the wheels
sure the problem is inside the transmission
My neighbor has a mower just like that
This version of the Craftsman mower is very good.
Left drive wheel desperately needs a new HOC plate bearing, shouldn’t have any play when drive is engaged.
you are correct
I have a new idea for a engine what if you made it have so much compression and also have a lot of vacuum as well to continue the cycle and to control the rpm use a air valve and wen you close the air valve it raises the rpm and slightly open the valve it will lower it. No pollution in it and still here the sweet sound of a engine running besides the Tesla battery’s cause pollution and my engine idea shouldn’t cause any pollution
interesting if you can get it to work
As one of the top faceless TH-cam channels, do you use AI for your voiceovers or is that your real voice?
what do you think?
@@HomeGaragechannel honestly some of the AI ones are really good, I think it’s either your voice or a narrator
I wish I could say it was AI then I wouldn't have to do it.
hi
hello
Fix those mowers. Soon you will not be able to find or purchase them.
agreed
I would take the time to fix it.
you and I both!
