god, i know, right? i love the way those old radar/satellite imagery screens look in old forecasts/weather reporting. it's like a weird middle ground between completely primitive 3d graphics (snes superfx and the like) and n64/ps1-era graphics
I always come back to this video every once in a while because this was my first introduction to vapourwave and subsequently future funk which is now my favourite genre, so I feel like I owe a lot to this video

This song’s a fricking bop and a half! Plus that weatherman got some serious moves! The spring of 2019 was when I started getting into Vaporwave starting on SoundCloud, and this song was my most favorite at the time. I remember listening to this song on repeat while going to and from school on the bus. It also gives me an overcast / cloudy day vibe but in an extremely pleasant and nostalgic way. Huge thanks to SoundCloud once again for introducing me to some serious Vaporwave / Retrowave bangers!
I can't even listen to G Force by Kenny G in its high quality recorded form. I want to hear it in lo-fi, compressed CHEAP version watered down to save money. How wild is that? All audio was like that in the early 20th century, fast forward to 1993 and it was still like that on TV sometimes and even to this day on hold on the phone. But it softens the music in such a pleasant way in a case like this. Very interesting.
Also...maybe even more importantly...it changes the MIXING...what sounds like percussion in the lo-fi is actually rhythm guitar and the drum kit is muffled a lot. Percussion is always intense and harsh and must be turned down a bit to get what we all know and love and avoid the "garage band" effect. I like G Force way better without the percussion 😂
