Short term gains are more important to investors than having a good reputation or a long standing fanbase. That's why indie games have gotten better in quality while triple A is dying.

Turnover *is* completely normal but when most of your veteran staff leaves and you didn't retain their knowledge you end up playing yourself. It's why Dragon Age 4 is in development hell. Publishers also have short term memory. Remember when we released another game that turned a massively popular franchise into mainstream slop and nobody liked it anymore? No? Dead Space? Command & Conquer? Mirror's Edge? The industry has been a bubble for far too long, and it has to pop at some point.

People don't realize, the Devs that created Apex have been gone for 3 and a half years. The ones that weren't pulled off the game to work on Star Wars after it's launch, were fired. They've been running the incompetent skeleton crew since. Almost every studio has done this in the last 8 years. To a crippling level. That's why none of the issues are fixed. Some are just delayed for a season or two until they come back bugged stronger than ever.
Yeah you can't even blame so much the developers they were given a difficult task to start with, and barely any time to perform it, after EA decided to change the entire game halfway through development
I think if all the engine devs leave, the next update of the engine requires a permanent suffix add on to it, in this particular case, it's so you tell the difference between a functional engine and ABSOLUTE FAILURE
For the longest time after launch I had the power to freeze people. Every time I went to backstab them I would do the animation to the air and they would end up all bent up but still alive. I could kill them after that but sometimes I wouldn’t. I’d come back after 5 minutes and I still see them all bent up by a bush 😊

Yeah but EA just doesn't give af and their higher ups are very disconnected from reality. 20 devs with 10+ years in their company leaving because of creative freedom restrictions should tell you something, like how it doesn't ring a bell that you're going downhill with these policies.

Only thing that upset me were the lack of classes and weapons, poor optimization. I was only able to get like 90fps on low. now I get 120 on Low 5600x 3060ti. Never encountered the weird bullet spread people talked about and only hitreg issues I saw were rockets doing nothing to vehicles.
I just really want to live in that one possible reality where 2042 came out, it had levelution like 4, gunplay like 3, a huge massive locker of weapons we know today but reimagined with a 2042 touch, but alas, honestly I just hate that they dropped the ball on a modern one, because I was tired of WW1 and WW2, but I loved the games. im halfway through the video and i played the beta and didnt had any bugs at all, but what was annoying for sure was running 5minutes straight just to get sniped from the top of a skyscraper. i recently started playing again actively and i really enjoy it, i find a lobby every hour or so, all other lobbies are empty, and there is a server browser but its a bit complicated to find.

You could be going on play testing early on at the office and getting free games etc, and as the GIGACHAD kid like i was somehow i was always sick for school those days since it was when the devs were working during monday-friday .(crazy guy here i know). It was cool having it as something we could be proud of like when they released frostbite and stuff. Legit given up totally on EA at this point or honestly since a long time ago now.

I was lucky enough to get in for the Battlefield 2042 alpha and signed up to play it on PS5. Come around to when the alpha was supposed to happen, they cancelled the alpha for consoles (big foreshadowing) and didn’t offer for me to play it on PC. Was super bummed out as I was gonna invite my friends over to check out the game, and was sorely disappointed.

Can't play with him unless he goes and buys a console. 2042 is actually really good now, at least Portal mode, I've played a LOT of Battlefield and never had more fun than 2042, which is unbelievable, even to myself.
As someone who has a friend who just recently quit DICE. Friend of mine explained how devs were so fucking overworked, but their boss (who was doing a really good job and trying to help the devs as much as possible) promised them that once they were finished with this one big deadline that they were all gonna get some well deserved 3-4 days rest. I think like 40 consecutive days of devs having to work from 7 or 8 in the morning to 22 or 01 in the night. And when they were finally done with this deadline, EA told them that they should now immediately start overworking on a new fucking deadline. The poor boss told them "my devs need rest" but EA told the boss to fuck off. Boss did everything in their power, and EA said "best we can do is 1 day for resting up". TL;DR & conclusion Fuck EA

One of the biggest parts I feel like people don't talk about was the xbox one and xbox series x/s versions. Have a buddy that has an xbox one while you have the xbox series x ? Can't play with him unless he goes and buys a console. Even if the game was playable and worth buying, you were still stuck with this problem, and it makes no sense for a battlefield game that always promoted squad play

I hate when devs just push out their game and rush it only to fail and have hella bugs and exploits, imagine a game coming out finished it's a thing of the past now sadly, miss the days before "beta test" "pre-order" and "Fixing patch 1/1000"

2042 is actually really good now, at least Portal mode, I've played a LOT of Battlefield and never had more fun than 2042, which is unbelievable, even to myself.

As someone who has a friend who just recently quit DICE. Friend of mine explained how devs were so fucking overworked, but their boss (who was doing a really good job and trying to help the devs as much as possible) promised them that once they were finished with this one big deadline that they were all gonna get some well deserved 3-4 days rest. I think like 40 consecutive days of devs having to work from 7 or 8 in the morning to 22 or 01 in the night. And when they were finally done with this deadline, EA told them that they should now immediately start overworking on a new fucking deadline. The poor boss told them "my devs need rest" but EA told the boss to fuck off. Boss did everything in their power, and EA said "best we can do is 1 day for resting up".
TL;DR & conclusion
Fuck EA
