This reminds me of this one time when i was like, 9, i was talking with my mom about minecraft and i mentioned biomes and she got really excited and said something about how she works with biomes at her job or something along those lines (she works for a nature preservation company) and that's how i learned that biomes aren't just a minecraft thing

I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons axolotls were put in Minecraft is for spreading awareness and hopefully having people focus on trying to get the axolotl population out of the endangered classification they're currently in.

My nana used to have an axolotl and it terrified me. It looked like toothless, ironically was his name, and he terrified me. It would always stare at me and when it was feeding time we gave it blood worms and it looked like he had teeth. I hated cleaning his tank because he bit me once when I was a kid and he didn't let go. He thought I was food because I was told to clean the tank around his feeding time. It scarred me for life. He lived until his old age and until the end he was treated like royalty because I was terrified of him 😂

I was so excited when they were added to Minecraft because I can't own the lil guys where I live (a DREAM pet of mine at that, gosh they're soooo cute) So I'm happy I can kinda just have my blocky axolotls at least. I always make them realllly pretty enclosures to live in and name them all. Also I built a giant axolotl out concrete..my pride and joy :)

Yeah leucism is a recessive trait just like albinism. You can breed a leucistic animal with a het leucistic animal (meaning they have the leucism gene) and 50% of the babies should be leucistic.
Your odds are a bit off, but otherwise yes, you're correct! If each parent carries the albanism gene, they each pass it down to roughly 50% of their offspring, but in order to actually BE albino, the baby would have to inherit that specific gene from BOTH parents, so roughly 25% would be albino, 50% would be het for albino (inheriting from one, but not the other), and the other 25% would not have the gene at all.

Ex axolotl owner here. They are the most precious creatures out there, incredibly smart in their own amphibious ways and we know these salamanders have their own personalities but they are very delicate as well. They claim to find them in the wild while in fact they place the axolotls in the water in an outdoor place in order to get views, all so stupid and staged.
Yes, not just axolotl and fish of all sorts but also frogs, turtles, ducks and baby crocodiles too! And Sometimes they throw non-aquatic pets like snakes, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits into the mix, and chasing them with puppets of predators like sharks and dinosaurs!
If you're going to pretend to find wild animals, why would you choose one that lives in only one place?? At this point everyone around me knows all about axolotls due to my infodumping but I feel like that's pretty common knowledge for anyone know kind of likes them?

Lol, Im currently teaching my amano shrimp to feed from a dish…it’s not going well…they grab like 5-6 pieces of food each and try to escape to hide and eat it!…then they get stuck because they won’t drop any of the food and haven’t figured out how to climb out while holding so many pieces! The point is to eat it in the dish so the pieces won’t fall in the gravel

I did learn about Axolotls through minecraft, but I don't even play it that much I just heard about the update, plus i don't really look into less known animals, so I didnt know about them before it, I think the only less talked about animal that i knew of was numbats

Yeah leucism is a recessive trait just like albinism. You can breed a leucistic animal with a het leucistic animal (meaning they have the leucism gene) and 50% of the babies should be leucistic.
Your odds are a bit off, but otherwise yes, you're correct! If each parent carries the albanism gene, they each pass it down to roughly 50% of their offspring, but in order to actually BE albino, the baby would have to inherit that specific gene from BOTH parents, so roughly 25% would be albino, 50% would be het for albino (inheriting from one, but not the other), and the other 25% would not have the gene at all.

Ex axolotl owner here. They are the most precious creatures out there, incredibly smart in their own amphibious ways and we know these salamanders have their own personalities but they are very delicate as well. They claim to find them in the wild while in fact they place the axolotls in the water in an outdoor place in order to get views, all so stupid and staged.

Lol, Im currently teaching my amano shrimp to feed from a dish…it’s not going well…they grab like 5-6 pieces of food each and try to escape to hide and eat it!…then they get stuck because they won’t drop any of the food and haven’t figured out how to climb out while holding so many pieces!
The point is to eat it in the dish so the pieces won’t fall in the gravel
