For the Custard:
2 Egg Yolks
Sugar 50g (¼ cup)
Corn Flour/ Corn Starch 30g (¼ cup)
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Milk 240ml (1 cup)
For the cake:
Sugar 150g (¾ cup)
Butter 150g (⅔ cup)
3 Eggs
Plain flour 200g (1 ⅓ cups)
Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Dried fruits 100g (½ cup)
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Almond essence ½ teaspoon (optional)
Measuring cup size - 240ml
Baking pan 20x20 cm
Bake in a preheated oven at 170c (338f) for:
For 10 minutes
Then 25-30 minutes

Dear can i use oil instead of butter? Will its flavr taste bcm same? Whn ill bake 2 layers cake will upr nd lower side heat of ovn remain 6:12 same? Or only upr side heat hv use...plz suggst
You can use vegetable oil, the flavour won't be different that much! and yes I used top and bottom heat for the oven!

I used milk straight from the fridge. So it’s cold. You could use room temperature milk too.
