I mentioned something to that effect to someone I was with and they said, 'Oh that's her label's fault.' He told me that when she first started, Pink got zero say in her sound. Once her contract ended she went her own way and the music I liked was a direct result of her picking her own stuff. Don't know how true that is, but whatever the case I really like her newer stuff.
@@stephanginther9051 It's very accurate, Pink's first album was very much a mix of the pop punk and R&B that was everywhere at the time and felt quite hollow because it was written for her. You could have swapped out a dozen of the popular artists she was competing with at the time and you wouldn't really notice. Most of us expected her to be a one hit wonder until her real first album dropped and we got to hear her own song writing.
Dolly Parton is just southern hospitality in human form she is the most precious person alive I love her
I couldn't watch this without pausing to cry every time the artist saw her reaction.
What pure and wholesome goodness.
Jeremiah Gabriel...same! I had to keep taking my glasses off to wipe away happy tears!
I'm glad I'm not the only guy crying!
@@keepitsimplestupid3012 you're absolutely not alone. I cry at many things where musicians interact with fans. Especially Dolly.
If you feel like crying more btw, check this out. th-cam.com/video/CZ-YnfYK_Pk/w-d-xo.html
The band is brilliant and also, this festival had a special appearance by Dolly Parton too. So if you poke around the adjacent videos you'll probably find her.
@@jeremiahgabriel5709 Thank you, I'll check it out!
One of the sweetest souls. Dolly is a bright ray of sunshine. Through her music and her personality. Just beautiful
Hello there Millisa nice meeting you here
Dolly Parton is such an icon
When she harmonizes with them, omg.
Dolly singing harmony with the videos is amazing.
When Dolly sings harmony with people the other person's voice gets lifted on angel's wings.
Dolly , whenever she speaks , I get the impression she is singing. Such a legend.
Ah, just hearing Dolly speak... her beautiful heart is such an antidote to the pervasive, neverending hatefulness human beings heap onto each other day by day.
To me, her kindness shows her grit and backbone - she is secure enough in who she is and what her morals are to afford kindness to others. She is a true lady. 🌷
PS: the covers were all AMAZING!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👌
The Earth is not worthy of Dolly Parton. She is EVERYTHING that is good with the World!!
Dolly "Are you fivetuplets"
Wasn't a word but it is now
That’s probably their new band name now
what did she mean by that ?
@@decoyheartt it was a joke about 5 of the same person on screen, like 5 identical brothers. I think the term is quintuplets but is now "fivetuplets" lol
I love her songs such as “Jolene” and “Nine To Five” This woman is talented and must be protected at all costs! Also, does anybody remember her singing Jolene with Pentatonix?
Mine is rock candy Christmas.
Literally how could anyone not like this!!!! She’s the most precious thing ever!! 🥺
She absolutely is. She was my mom's hero growing up and I have always loved her talent as well as her genuine kindness and humility. Dolly is the BEST!
She's like a ray of sunshine. Her laugh makes me smile and I'm really needing that right now. When she starts singing along, ugh, such a beautiful voice and spirit. Makes me want to watch "A Smoky Mountain Christmas." Awesome holiday movie to check out if you haven't seen it. Was always played on USA channel and now I just want to watch all the Christmas specials that used to play back in the 90's. Every sitcom did a Christmas episode and Family Matters always comes to mind.
Smoky Mountain Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie ❤️
I’m jealous to hear Dolly tell someone that they sang Jolene best out of all of the covers of that song. Congratulations! Also congrats to every music star that Dolly enjoyed their covers of her many hits! 🤩👍👏
The girlgroup was insane right
Oh my gosh... I got chills when she started singing along with Steve Knill..... That duet NEEDS to happen!
Yes someone hear us let this duet happen??!!!
I had tears swell up! Two such amazing voices harmonize, even if just for a split second, incredible!!
I agree with this. That would be amazing.
I WOULD DIE happily if Dolly Parton ever said my name. LEGEND. PERIOD.
I love how she would sing back vocals and harmonize wherever possible, that innate need to participate to make it even nicer and better is everything.
Dolly is *such* a class act. Truly a national treasure.
Who doesn’t LOVE DOLLY?
She is an American Gem!!!
No, she's the world's gem
If you play music at all, having a super-star like Dolly Parton tell you that she liked your version of her song is deeply moving. Such a kind, and gracious lady. Her words of encouragement will impact these musicians for the rest of their lives. Dolly is one-hundred percent class.
She's an angel walking among us. My mother raised me listening to her music. She loved her music, her attitude toward life, and her generosity. Dolly truly is someone to look up to in life.
Let's talk about Austin's version of, "I Will Always Love You." I could feel that he was really feeling that song. Heck! I could feel it. LOL! Beautiful cover!
He's awesome.
I love how she puts others before herself. She is my favorite singer
Her harmonies while singing under her breath along with the singers were so pretty!! She's just effortlessly amazing!!
The day Dolly dies I will be heartbroken
The world will be heartbroken!!
We dont talk about it
She will never die. Same with Betty White.
And willie Nelson...
She is a goddess. As far as I’m concerned she’s immortal.
Could you imagine doing a cover of someone’s song and see the person you are covering listen to you and then start softly singing the lyrics to their own song and bopping their head and smiling
I would just die right there!
Dolly Parton; the grandma that everyone wishes they had.
The mother sounds better.
She'd have to be your Auntie!😉
Betty White is America’s “grandma.” Dolly Parton is America’s awesome “Aunt.”
She’s America’s Aunt Granny,
More like a grandmother I'd like to smooch
I love how Dolly Parton is so genuine and loves all her fans and loves the fact that people will sing her songs what an icon what a beautiful beautiful person you are Dolly we all love you
I bet dolly gives immaculate hugs...
She is always joyful and positive.
i actually cannot- she is so humble and so sweet and honest. so many celebrities let the years of fame flutter to their heads and ignore those who appreciate them but dolly is different, her appreciation is amazing
Dolly Parton is such a mood honestly
When she harmonized with the second artist, my whole heart melted.
The way she thanked each artist for choosing to cover her song had tears in my eyes. Wow, what a kind, humble, and inspiring woman.
Dolly doesn’t have children, but guess what? We’re all her children! She shares her love with the world and is such a genuine and giving person who loves her fans. ❤️
She was just so encouraging and grateful. The woman is a national treasure and may she be with us, always.
The way she can instantly harmonize with stuff coming out of a computer speaker is awsome
Dolly creates so much community, coming together and pure enjoyment through her art! What a ray of sunshine.
Look, she's Dolly, I can't imagine her saying anything bad about anyone's performance. She's always going to find something positive.
Dolly is always so kind, what a wonderful human being.
