Its sad (and shocking) to hear those words coming from JBs mouth, "My owner" as if they were some kind of slaves, and when he says I have no other way "But to love him" it makes you wonder what kinds of abuse (or other situations) they could have gone trough, it's very well known that when K-pop artists sign contracts they really belong to their companies, not their art or their songs but their lives and time as a whole, their companies just see them as slaves and money machines not as human beings.

i've joined a choir before, so i know a little bit of vocal technique. I'm not saying that what jyp do is wrong, but singing with your mouth wide open like youngjae is actually better than singing with your mouth that's not as open as jyp. so what youngjae do is actually right. bcs if you singing with your mouth wide open, your voice will sound bigger and better
Choral singer here. You're supposed to open your mouth for projection and to make sure you don't strain your vocal chords. By opening his mouth he has access to higher notes without going into his head voice. That's how Youngjae's voice was so powerful. JYP's was breathy and sounded like he was relying on his throat way too much for projection. JYP's stupid.

I have been singing for 8 years and my teachers always tell me to open my mouth more, so it can be more loud and clear, so JYP saying that Youngjae was opening his mouth to much, was clearly because he was jealous of how beautiful was his singing
Same! Been a choir singer since I was 10 and I've always been told to drop your jaw and open your mouth. Makes your voice more powerful without putting as much strain on your vocal chords I believe. JYP was really just jealous
I think that might be too much conspiracy tho, because I've been a choir and a rock singer for several years and different types of singing require different methods. I do think JYP was a bit too extra, but the airy technique to give your voice a lilt is actually pretty common, and opening your mouth too wide sometimes means you run out of air faster. Plus, I don't think he'd purposely sabotage his artists on a reality show like that
Agree! Had voice lessons before during Elementary and was a choir member since Third Year Highschool until Fourth Year College. Well, I am oftentimes reminded that when singing, you have to open wide your mouth to emphasize clear pronunciation and diction of words. Plus, it avoids you cracking up midway while singing especially when reaching higher notes since there will be shifting from chest to head tone of your voice
I remember people taking about how JYPE as the best entertainment company for idols compared to others (especially SM and YG) and how JYP himself is so close to his artists. The fact that his ex artists still kept in touch with him was brought up to validate that point. But now seeing how things went down with GOT7, it really makes you wonder. These 7 boys who are so close to each other and tried their best to stay together as long as they could finally went their way because the company couldn't treat them right. The way the boys and JYP unfollowed each other shows things didn't end well between them. GOT7 was literally the no. 1 kpop group in Thailand and they had so many other international fans. Brought in so much money for JYPE, had great variety sense, amazing performances but all wasted by the company. The company should've pushed them a little more when they had the chance, given them individual opportunities more when they could. They lost a *GEM* and their reputation. I will never see JYPE as the "idol friendly" company they were said to be. They should start focusing on their boy groups as much as their girl groups now.

I mean, handling a company is a big thing. From what I have seen, he seems to promote StrayKidz as well as any other girl group like twice. It was JYP's biggest mistake to fail at having good promotions for GOT7, but I feel as though it also lead him to take better care of groups like StrayKidz. Another reason is GOT7 was created before JYPE started to this thing where they had their groups put under a company under JYP so it could be better for managing. So it makes sense why their promotion suck for GOT7.(the first group was TWICE) I also don't think it has anything with JYP not wanting to be undermined by his boy groups, because clearly he has already been undermined by them. I really do hope he treats his future boy groups as well as he does with StrayKidz. Also stop blaming it on JYP, he's not even CEO anymore and jut makes music for his groups. I just think JYPE entertainment, needs better managing. I do think its the best idol company after bighit, because they truly do care about their idols health, but fail at good promoting and can make bad choices with groups at times. I’m glad stray kids get treated well according to your statements but got7 used to be treated well too and look what happened... I have to say that day6 is also not given enough priority. jyp doesn’t have good relationships with his previous artists except for his favourites, i can honestly only think of suzy and sunmi as the artists he’s still in touch with. I also want to remind that even if jyp is no longer the ceo, he’s stil the cco and executive director of jype which makes me more frustrated because he is the literal head of all the promotions. Till this day I still don't understand why JYPE mistreated got7. If the group didn't bring enough money then it's understandable but in got7 case, they brought in so much money from world tours, concerts, CFs, thailand and chinese markets, etc their album sales were also among the top within the company despite the serious lack of promotion. so there's no reasonable explanation for that at all

HAAAA LMAO I remember him giving snsd tiffany a hard time during recording before. she's not the best but she's defs more pleasant to listen to than him. he thinks his half air half sound schtick is so good. i could hear it in a lot of miss a songs and i didn't like those songs very much. i'm glad a lot of their artists don't take his word as gospel anymore.

There’s so many videos of JYP artist Calling out JYP whether their still within the company or has moved on. I think Jimin (Or Jamie) was the bravest since she made it known that she’s a singer and wanted new songs. Sunmi also asked JYP if he remembered one of the song he rejected and he said no (awkwardly) so she said it’s number 1. I find it funny how he didn’t help her gain fame as a solo artist then she leaves and becomes big now he collaborates with her for his songs😛.

i found a comment on twitter about how JYP always treated his boygroups as his 2nd self. He sometimes forced them to perform his self-produce song, his outdated 'beast and retro metrosexual' style, forcing them his nasty mindset, 2pm and Got7 fans must be familiar with this. He is too sure that his appearence and style still liked by general public as an idol, what a star-syndrome. This overconfidence behaviour which is also the reason why he still releasing song and not even going to retirement or focused on raising his child. Please god, keep stray kids away from JYP hands.
Tbh what I hate most is the way he restricted Got7, they were so successful around 2016 in Korea and were and still are perfect in all aspects from variety shows, performance and music but then he started to restrict them by turning down offers for variety shows and performances in Korea simply because they were doing so well and were outshining his entire company. They still have improved so much and I can't wait for them to start promoting themselves as a group❤
The thing about JYP anyone with true potential he won’t let outshine him. Eg Rain, jay park, Jamie, JB (all of got7) and its kind of sad. Got7 could have been worldwide as much as BTS, I actually started with big bang then BTS and got7 and I for sure thought damn got7 could be international.

I totally agree. My first band was Got7 because they were fun and seemed free and real at the time. In recent years, it feels as though they aren't anymore, not because they don't want to be or aren't, but because they looked bound to certain limitations.

I just hope even though they didn't disband and they are still gonna be together that they don't be so into their own thing that they grow apart from each other. I don't know how this is gonna go since some members are basically not gonna be in Korea as much anymore but I hope they do keep doing things together and not go on a unnecessary long hiatus. Unfortunately, they CANNOT continue as GOT7 as it appears that JYP entertainment trademarked the name GOT7 for 10 YEARS, so if they want to release new music, they would have to do it under a new name or wait another 3 years from January 19th, 2021. This is what I read unless that is incorrect.

Really have to give props to aghases for handling this entire situation so so peacefully and supporting the boys throughout. I listen to got7 on and off and really like the group. In my opinion, some Korean Entertainment Companies have its own "mystery" Just my opinion, every time JPY's somehow make a girl/boy group, he just promote them up to the point he can get "enough" benefit for every money he has spend. He always said that he treated Suzy like a queen... (but she's still left him). I got this thought seeing how he treated Miss A, 2PM, 2AM, 15& who got disbanded or left hanging, with no promotion at all while they're still at their peak age. Still, there must be something that makes GOT7 and JYP hates each other. The reason still unknown.
I always thought Miss A had a lot of potential, only if JYPE had paid proper attention to them. I am happy Suzy left and is doing her own thing, though I sometime miss her idol days.

Choral singer here. You're supposed to open your mouth for projection and to make sure you don't strain your vocal chords. By opening his mouth he has access to higher notes without going into his head voice. That's how Youngjae's voice was so powerful. JYP's was breathy and sounded like he was relying on his throat way too much for projection. JYP's stupid.

I think that might be too much conspiracy tho, because I've been a choir and a rock singer for several years and different types of singing require different methods. I do think JYP was a bit too extra, but the airy technique to give your voice a lilt is actually pretty common, and opening your mouth too wide sometimes means you run out of air faster. Plus, I don't think he'd purposely sabotage his artists on a reality show like that
Agree! Had voice lessons before during Elementary and was a choir member since Third Year Highschool until Fourth Year College. Well, I am oftentimes reminded that when singing, you have to open wide your mouth to emphasize clear pronunciation and diction of words. Plus, it avoids you cracking up midway while singing especially when reaching higher notes since there will be shifting from chest to head tone of your voice

I remember people taking about how JYPE as the best entertainment company for idols compared to others (especially SM and YG) and how JYP himself is so close to his artists. The fact that his ex artists still kept in touch with him was brought up to validate that point. But now seeing how things went down with GOT7, it really makes you wonder. These 7 boys who are so close to each other and tried their best to stay together as long as they could finally went their way because the company couldn't treat them right. The way the boys and JYP unfollowed each other shows things didn't end well between them. GOT7 was literally the no. 1 kpop group in Thailand and they had so many other international fans. Brought in so much money for JYPE, had great variety sense, amazing performances but all wasted by the company. The company should've pushed them a little more when they had the chance, given them individual opportunities more when they could. They lost a *GEM* and their reputation. I will never see JYPE as the "idol friendly" company they were said to be. They should start focusing on their boy groups as much as their girl groups now.

I mean, handling a company is a big thing. From what I have seen, he seems to promote StrayKidz as well as any other girl group like twice. It was JYP's biggest mistake to fail at having good promotions for GOT7, but I feel as though it also lead him to take better care of groups like StrayKidz. Another reason is GOT7 was created before JYPE started to this thing where they had their groups put under a company under JYP so it could be better for managing. So it makes sense why their promotion suck for GOT7.(the first group was TWICE) I also don't think it has anything with JYP not wanting to be undermined by his boy groups, because clearly he has already been undermined by them. I really do hope he treats his future boy groups as well as he does with StrayKidz. Also stop blaming it on JYP, he's not even CEO anymore and jut makes music for his groups. I just think JYPE entertainment, needs better managing. I do think its the best idol company after bighit, because they truly do care about their idols health, but fail at good promoting and can make bad choices with groups at times. I have to say that day6 is also not given enough priority. jyp doesn’t have good relationships with his previous artists except for his favourites, i can honestly only think of suzy and sunmi as the artists he’s still in touch with. I also dislike jyp for overworking twice and I’m glad they finally get to have their proper breaks from time to time. I also want to remind that even if jyp is no longer the ceo, he’s stil the cco and executive director of jype which makes me more frustrated because he is the literal head of all the promotions. It’s even worse than being the ceo given that got7 has to promote using their own personal accounts. He has full control of the creative direction of his artists and i hate how fans shift the blame by saying “he’s not the ceo” when him being the cco makes it so much worse. You don’t need to be an idol of jype to know that he favours his gg when it is so apparent on television, he supports twice so much not even a blind man can say otherwise. If I’m not mistaken he even lived with wonder girls in their dorms. He makes it so obvious bruh. I’m not saying there should be less love and support for the ggs but there should be the same amount of energy for the boy groups dammit.

Till this day I still don't understand why JYPE mistreated got7. If the group didn't bring enough money then it's understandable but in got7 case, they brought in so much money from world tours, concerts, CFs, thailand and chinese markets, etc their album sales were also among the top within the company despite the serious lack of promotion. so there's no reasonable explanation for that at all
Jay Park said that JYP doesn't like his BG to be more famous or recognized than him, kind of like jealousy. I think he did the same to 2PM, always doing something bad against them. In general, Jay Park has said a lot about JYP since he left the company.

There’s so many videos of JYP artist Calling out JYP whether their still within the company or has moved on. I think Jimin (Or Jamie) was the bravest since she made it known that she’s a singer and wanted new songs. Sunmi also asked JYP if he remembered one of the song he rejected and he said no (awkwardly) so she said it’s number 1. I find it funny how he didn’t help her gain fame as a solo artist then she leaves and becomes big now he collaborates with her for his songs😛.

Tbh what I hate most is the way he restricted Got7, they were so successful around 2016 in Korea and were and still are perfect in all aspects from variety shows, performance and music but then he started to restrict them by turning down offers for variety shows and performances in Korea simply because they were doing so well and were outshining his entire company. They still have improved so much and I can't wait for them to start promoting themselves as a group❤

I totally agree. My first band was Got7 because they were fun and seemed free and real at the time. In recent years, it feels as though they aren't anymore, not because they don't want to be or aren't, but because they looked bound to certain limitations.

Just my opinion, every time JPY's somehow make a girl/boy group, he just promote them up to the point he can get "enough" benefit for every money he has spend. He somehow hold their wings in order not to create another "kids" who will grow bigger and stronger than him... like RAIN/BI, he doesn't want to create another RAIN, Suzy and Sunmi.
The reason, idk, could be a sign of narcissism (just my assumption on why JYP has to be the best and based on his song "ALIVE", and how he make all his talents HAVE TO singing and rapping by "his way"),
or simply he doesn't want to get left anymore by his strong talents. He always said that he treated Suzy like a queen... (but she's still left him).
