Naturally great performance of one of Schubert's most joyful sonatas. But my favourite is by Radu Lupu. If you listen he sings as he plays!
No one can compare to Lupu or Brendel :)

Beautiful playing, very intelligent phrasing and an "honest" Schubert rendition concerning the score but I prefer Richter ;) especially in the second movement.
Absolutely excellent, but a bit too fast in may own taste.
I agree, except to the "too". Afanasiev played it nearly half as fast, and I felt the German blues of Schubert as well.
zzausel : Schubert was Austrian. Not German. Big difference. He did not ever go out of Austria, and there did not seem to be a Germanic bone in his body :)
