I'm short. I own a 2005 Pegaso Strada 660, which I love. Many of the attributes (narrowness, seated IN the bike...) you mention here are what I enjoy about the Pegaso. I toured in my own country earlier this year for about 4 months; I put Pirelli Scorpion SRT's on it and did a number of back roads in the journey, very comfortably. I loved the weight, torque and range of the single and was very curious about this new bike. This is video is very encouraging ...
More power then the T7, more clearance to the ground, more electronic riding modes, better suspensions and rear suspension, less weight, Lower seat height ... I think the T7 will have a contender on this one !
The T7 was made to a strict price point which undercuts all it’s adventure bike competitors. It’s a lot of bike for the money. This will cost more so no surprises here really.

The bike was made in France and they were always at odds with the headquarter because they did not wanted that "cutting price" in some parts and the bike actually came out more pricier then Yamaha envisioned/wanted, all of this to honor the spirit of the Ténéré and France Paris-Dakar made long history. Fantastic looking bike and it looks good and light on the road. Aprilia will have to work on their dealer network but here in Switzerland being right next to Italy it's not a problem.
Can't agree on its looks. To me it's UGLY, very unlike Aprilia to design something this bad. Welded rear subframe is just asking for problems off-road.
I really really like what they did about the seat height, they kept good suspension travel and made an accessible seat height, if that doesn’t sell for the prospective adventure rider or for any rider that was holding back from these type of bikes because most of them are too tall i don’t know what it does. Most probably there should be a lower seat option too. Well done aprilia.

What a treat! The Tuareg checks all my boxes, and I will probably put down a deposit whenever spots open. Having owned various Aprilias in the past, they really need to work on the dealer network. My state only has one dealer, and is a “destination” riding state.....
Great preview video! Wasn't expecting to even hear the bike this soon. Nice piece of machinery. I'm just concerned about replacing plastic since I've heard the Yamaha T7 is not durable when it falls down. Guess we'll find out when it gets to play offroad. Cheers!

I love the looks. Have always wanted a Wind, but we never got them in the states. This bike would be perfect for me, but it’s still fairly heavy. The killer will be price and dealer network. The Tenere is 9.9k, and dealers are everywhere. The US barely has dealers, and I’m sure the pricing will be high.... Then there is reliability, and Piaggio lackluster customer service.

Obviously, initial sales will be good from the loyalists.... Hopefully it doesn’t suffer the same fate as the Shiver and Dorso. Lackluster, and pricey vs the competition. At a 10k base, these would grow Aprilia here.

Been riding a 2016 Aprilia Caponord Rally 1200 for years since I sold my old KTM 950 Super Enduro. Love the bike but it badly needs more suspension travel. It bottoms out all the time and is my biggest problem with the bike. This new new Tuareg looks like the perfect replacement for my Caponord. Just wish I could get one now for the Adventure Palooza Ride next month.
They bang on about light weight (180kg dry) but realistically that the same as the Tiger (210 wet) and more than the Tenere (205kg wet) and WAY heavier than the KTM 890 R (195 wet). So basically the Aprilia is a low power, heavy, road/touring bike that looks great.
Very interesting & beautiful bike. I would be interested by a lower version of the Tuareg 660 more road oriented like the V-Strom 650 XT with a 17 inches rear spoked wheel & a 19 inches front spoked wheel; Kind of like Triumph do with their dual offer with Tiger 900 GT & Tiger 900 Rally…
If you look at the frame design it has echoes of the XT250, a trials bike shallow V that keeps the seat height low, but retains ground clearance. I do feel that it will be a niche market bike. The higher cost and the lack of dealer network my just stymy the growth of an otherwise good machine. In Australia when you have vast distances between services, a Yamaha or Honda is going to have parts and a dealer network to keep you on the road. I wish them luck, I'm sure they will sell a few.
Doesn't matter how good it is. Especially with an adventure bike like this, people will always think about the world famous Aprilia dealer network, cheap parts, and reliability before buying this 😂 Most sensible riders would just get a Tenere and upgrade it to the teeth with the same (or even less) money and have trouble free miles and years while having the same level of fun
Be neat if the front fender is adjustable, mud will stop it in its tracks. Larger rocks stuck in more aggressive treads will lock it up as well. Wayyyy too close. Nice looking bike!
@Justin Dawes would be curious to know if they would sell a lower height seat/lowering kit, and how you felt the suspension on the road? Great job on the early reporting.
The seat height is actually pretty low for a bike like this. Also, as stated in the video. The cockpit is narrow, which is good for the inseam challenged.
Thanks for the nice review. It is a very nice motorcycle, but the windshield is not transparent enough and it seems to restrict the road view since it is positioned too forward with the indicator.🤔🤔
That's also my complaint, I hope that the windshield not being transparent is something related to being a preproduction model as in the published photos the windshield seems completely transparent. As for the position I think it is because of the camera placement. I am looking forward into this bike as right now I am debating between this and the T700. Cheers.

Have you ever experienced the fit and finish of an Aprilia in the flesh? This bike is built exactly as the purpose it serves, but it has all the electronics and additions to make it an incredible bargain. My estimation is it will go on sale for $11,500-12,000 in the US. Still a good price for an Aprilia.
@@AngelSapundzhiev 890 ADV metal alloy (although I haven’t seen one but assume same as 790 ADV), T7 metal alloy with plastic surround. Yes familiar with Aprilia, however that is irrelevant to what I made a comment about. Lets hope they get the service and support more firmly established. As I said previously though, lets see what the production model brings. As it stands so far it looks superb, pricing will be interesting but looks like we have a month or two until we know that I guess. One last thing. They nailed it with that colour - really looks great!
@@JustForFun-zh7cy in the vid and on the cycleworld website they say Aprilia expect price to be in the 11.5k USD area. That would put it halfway between the T7 and the base 890 I believe. Assuming that's accurate and the Canadian price is in the same range I'd say this bike will hit my sweet spot. Other contenders for my money are the v85 and, depending on price and availability, the Norden 901.

Absolutely tough choice. The separator would be the electronic aids - if you prefer the classic “clunk” when shifting, the rugged styling, get the Guzzi and if you want the latest and greatest tech on an adv bike, get the Aprilia.
@@chrishart8548 the 85tt has no quickshifter or auto-blipper, the Tuareg has them both. Aprilia is always at the top, when it comes to rider aids and electronic, not the same with Guzzi, even though they are essentially the same company under Piaggio. Just different business models and branding, Aprilia appeals more to the young, hip rider, where Guzzi is a classic bike. I love them both for what they are. I ride an Aprilia.
Thank you all for your replies! I have an Aprila Caponord and in my avatar pic I ride a friend's Guzzi Stelvio. I enjoy them both very much! The electronics are not a big factor for me so I would be happy with what these new bikes offer. 2up travel is a factor though so I'll have to test ride the Tuareg for that. Both great bikes that's why it will be a tough choice. Or just convince the mrs to start riding and we get both 😀
The heat off of the engine/radiator and Catalytic converter being up front isn’t good. Push the hot air away from the ride is a must. I have a Tiger 1200 and son has an Tiger 800. Both put off a lot of heat and we’re looking for bikes that do something about that issue.
Measuring from the ground over the top of the seat to ground on the other side ("FOOT TO FOOT") That's the correct way to measure the true "seat height", and ALL bike reviews should be measured that way. I have a 1200 ADV bike with a very, very wide seat... and that makes it feel much taller and heavier than the actual measured seat height would suggest.

Lay the bike down with a half full tank, then put scales on the lift points, raise the bike and measure the lift up weight. ALL ADV bike reviews should include this data.

Absolutely tough choice. The separator would be the electronic aids - if you prefer the classic “clunk” when shifting, the rugged styling, get the Guzzi and if you want the latest and greatest tech on an adv bike, get the Aprilia.
@@AngelSapundzhiev there is a fair bit of tech on the tt85 the tft looks like the same one.
@@chrishart8548 the 85tt has no quickshifter or auto-blipper, the Tuareg has them both. Aprilia is always at the top, when it comes to rider aids and electronic, not the same with Guzzi, even though they are essentially the same company under Piaggio. Just different business models and branding, Aprilia appeals more to the young, hip rider, where Guzzi is a classic bike. I love them both for what they are. I ride an Aprilia.
Thank you all for your replies! I have an Aprila Caponord and in my avatar pic I ride a friend's Guzzi Stelvio. I enjoy them both very much! The electronics are not a big factor for me so I would be happy with what these new bikes offer. 2up travel is a factor though so I'll have to test ride the Tuareg for that. Both great bikes that's why it will be a tough choice. Or just convince the mrs to start riding and we get both 😀

The heat off of the engine/radiator and Catalytic converter being up front isn’t good. Push the hot air away from the ride is a must. I have a Tiger 1200 and son has an Tiger 800. Both put off a lot of heat and we’re looking for bikes that do something about that issue.

Measuring from the ground over the top of the seat to ground on the other side ("FOOT TO FOOT") That's the correct way to measure the true "seat height", and ALL bike reviews should be measured that way. I have a 1200 ADV bike with a very, very wide seat... and that makes it feel much taller and heavier than the actual measured seat height would suggest.
They know enduro 450 ,500,,550 cc bikes are killing it ,why they killed off RXV ?

i m 1.76 with a + 96 cm (37.8 inch ) seat height on my beta 390...maybe more with sag up. Slide one leg down on seat side when stopping, dude ;)
Bella moto ma personalmente poco interessante. Già con la mia t700 ho avuto problemi di identità. Ora ho capito che il divertimento con lei è su un off-road rallyraid. Va bene anche per viaggiare ma a questo punto preferirei una Africa Twin. La tuareg in off non la vedo tanto... Troppo stradale... Mappe elettronica... Forse come terza moto😝

Lay the bike down with a half full tank, then put scales on the lift points, raise the bike and measure the lift up weight. ALL ADV bike reviews should include this data.
$12,000usd makes it cheaper than the T7 in most countries now 😍 just hope it is priced at that
