The system that Ten Hag is trying to play is so risky, unless everything goes perfectly, they going to get caught out so many times. I enjoy it and hope you keep him a long time. But that is as a Liverpool fan. Most good managers can at least get somewhat of a working system even if they don't have all the players they would want. And if they don't have the players they prefer then they adjust and tweak it to fit the players they have.

to be honest, when liverpool were 1-0 at old trafford last season in the FA cup we were dominating, the crowd was dead and it looked like we would 100% see the game out, then united scored and the crowd transformed and they ended up winning. If you watched the game closely you saw Alexis actually coach Gravenburch through the game to tell him to be more disciplined. Casemiro is playing as the lone 6, who is also being tasked with being the deep lying playmaker. Both Kobbie and Casemiro cost us goals in that game playing the 6 position, not just because they were there on their own, but also because the fullbacks were high up the pitch somewhere. After the game Bruno defended both of them because thats the suicidal way the manager wants them to play.
A good manager assesses if a player can do what he asks of them in training or friendlies, and not just hope he delivers in a high priority league fixture.

Gravenberch and MacAllister are both playing as double 6s, with Ryan allowed to run forward and alexis the more defensive one. If you watched the game closely you saw Alexis actually coach Gravenburch through the game to tell him to be more disciplined. Casemiro is playing as the lone 6, who is also being tasked with being the deep lying playmaker. Both Kobbie and Casemiro cost us goals in that game playing the 6 position, not just because they were there on their own, but also because the fullbacks were high up the pitch somewhere. After the game Bruno defended both of them because thats the suicidal way the manager wants them to play.
A good manager assesses if a player can do what he asks of them in training or friendlies, and not just hope he delivers in a high priority league fixture.

@@strappedhuh11Salah has certainly been more consistent throughout the season since Mane left but there was a season where he went on a 8 game dry spell through the February through March timeframe I think. Salah is never terrible but he’s definitely had seasons where he’s twice the player in October than he is in March
