LOL, I could listen to that stuff all day long too Jedd. That LP is the exact perfect guitar for that music too. Thanks for sharing, have a great pair of shows this weekend buddy. Cheers from Chicago.
I would love for a video series focused on if someone like me (never been to Nashville) were to take a "guitar vacation" to Nashville. Hotel. Food. Guitar realted stores. Clubs. Or, a day in the life of Jedd on the Road. How does your day work. Start from the end of a gig, tear down, travel to next gig, setup, sound check, play show. CAN'T WAIT!
Hey Jedd, you've recently mentioned how magical the 'real' 54-ish Les Pauls sound. But there plenty of magic coming out of THAT LP. The tones are fantastic and your touch makes it more so. I probably don't understand, but I think you're there mate.
Nice opener... my ears hear some M Knopflerish influence sneaking in and around there.. very cool. Me dig. At around 2:56 -3:00 or there bouts... switch to b-pup... sweet lick.. 🔥👍
Hello Jedd, great playing and tone at start of video. The Les Paul suites you, the tone goes very well with your playing still. Your videos help boost a good mood in me. Really enjoy your playing and song writing. I get a lot of inspiration from your music and Tom Petty. Just really great vibes from you both, and great story telling in your music. Look forward to the future of your channel. Be well, and thank you for sharing these videos !
Hi Jedd, I am writing to you from Switzerland. You are a huge inspiration to me and my guitar playing. Such tastefull playing and songwriting of yours. Thanks for doing your videos. I am about putting your Ron Ellis Killa and 58b into my all swiss made blonde white guard "Reh" Tele. I love your idea, that you want to catch up with your online community in person, so maybe this is possible during your show in NY with Guthrie and Bukovac. I just go one of the last tickets on Tuesday. All the best and thanks again for what you gifting to the world.
I am so grateful that we picked the night that you were supporting Tom & Guthrie. You sounded so good there in that room & in that moment. Cheers, mate!
Hey, Jedd, you deserve all the positivity in the world because of what you put out there. Can't wait to hear the new songs. Beating the drum out here in Northern California.
This opening jam would be great as the instrumental on your next record! And I agree about David Gilmour and his use of instrumentals on his albums. I like “Then I Close My Eyes” from 2006’s “On An Island.” Thanks for the jam! I love JJ Cale, too, and agree with all the other comments that it reminds me of him. He lived in an area called Valley Center near where I am out here in San Diego… a quiet place without much light pollution, etc. This opening jam fits that vibe a lot. 😎
@@JeddHughesOfficial Some of my favorites are Belly Up Tavern (Solana Beach... closest to Carlsbad where Ron Ellis is), The Music Box (downtown SD), and The Casbah (downtown SD). I'll be there whenever you play here next! 👍
YES! I am so, so happy you guys are all making the trip up north. I saw Guthrie his first gig up here and he burned the place down, man. I ain't lying. But to see you, Jedd, that's a thrill for sure. Thanks for these videos.
Hey good day Jedd! Beautiful intro! Nice to see/hear you! Wish I could join you in NY at the Bitter End! Break a leg! Hope you,Tom and Guthrie have a wonderful three nights in NY!
Me too! I love short albums. Astral Weeks (8 tracks) & Blood On the Tracks (10) are 2 of my favorite albums of all time. I love your Country Mondaze instrumental for an upbeat momentum builder. See ya at the 3rd & Lindsey shows. Can’t wait!
Yeah Vince, Keith Urban and John Mayer are the big guitar names I can think of before I discovered you, Buk and Guthrie. Glad to have found you guys and you all know each other is cool. Selling boots lol. Moving um…up in the world 🤷♂️. Pays the bills or a couple of them maybe.
What a trip that you're doing Sara's new record! I'm watching this from Melbourne and I'm doing a run of shows playing with her through SA next month....Including the Quorn Town Hall! Small world! :) Love your work, Jedd. Thanks for the videos.
I’m watching this video as I ease into the day. I have an early 70s Les Paul Special. The neck pickup is the smaller mini humbucker and I believe someone replaced the bridge pickup with a standard size humbucker. My hope is when I have it appraised someone will say “Wow, you have the only prototype LP Special with two different size PUs, that thing is worth a fortune!” In reality it’s probably just a player grade that’s been modified - Instill like it. Also, looking forward to see what you come up with regarding a show and possible hang.
Lovely playing, my friend. My weekend was filled with shows and ankle rehab as I sprained it badly before show one of a double show day. As far as the guitar being of less interest in the last ten years or so, I definitely feel that. Whenever I’m out playing, it’s only so often that I get what I’d call a ‘guitar audience’. P.S. Shorter records are the answer! I find myself always ready to press repeat with those.
Wow, you made a big impression on me with this one!! I really like all your videos but this one for some reason was set apart for me. Jedd, awesome set you performed opening for GT & Buk Saturday night. Man, you are a talented dude, triple threat with your songwriting, singing and playing. I really loved your performance of Big Blue Sky, really excellent. I had not heard of you until I started following Guthrie's and Tom's YT channels, just a retired lawyer and music lover down in south Louisiana. I hope the exposure of you opening for them Saturday night results in some increased demand for your talent way beyond Nashville, you deserve it! Cheers!

Good to see you on that Les Paul, Jedd...I was wondering how you were getting on with it. These were indeed the first reissues of the Alnico LP Custom...they have a very good rep as they were very faithful to the original, no volute etc. I have a '56 one myself, and alongside my '57 Esquire they make a perfect pair of sonic opposites that somehow at times overlap.
Right on John! Those are the two to have! It is interesting how the P-90 pauls and Teles seem to have a tonal connection eh? I think my two favorite guitars are 50s Teles and Les Pauls.
Hey Jedd, I really appreciated the smoothness of the opening tune, especially done fingerstyle. Yes sir, guitar is making a comeback. I think when everyone was shoved into their homes during all of the nonsense that went on for a few years, many decided to do something productive. Guitar certainly will do that! Glad a friend of mine sent me your channel. I’ve several relationships down under and I’m looking forward to this one. Keep on picking, brother man 👍🏻
