Unfortunately Etsy doesn’t allow you to fight a trademark claim, only a copyright claim. Someone filed a trademark infringement against a few of my listings even though they are NOT infringing on their trademark. Etsy told me I basically have to ask them to withdraw the case, which of course they won’t do - they won’t even respond to emails. So frustrating that Etsy allows a trademark holder to file a case against you without checking to see if it’s valid. They just automatically remove listings if a TM claim is filed, whether it is valid or not, and they don’t allow you to contest it.
I’ve learned a lot since listening to you. Especially about Canva. For months I payed for Canva and I didn’t know I could do all that with it. Thank you for educating me.
Just don’t make copyright material or write copyright material and also I hate Wells Fargo. They are my bank and have been for years but they’ve been fucking up lately. Also, scammers now will message and act like interested customers. If they lack a picture and they’re asking how you’re doing or complimenting your store go and mark the message as spam.

YOUR VPN ADVICE IS WRONG. You'll get your shop banned for using a VPN and pretending you are somewhere else. Yes, the guy who had his shop suspended at the height of Q4 had Sooooo much trouble to get it back. I think he opened a store like Shopify as well now (or before that happened) so his finances won't be done in by being only with ETSY.

It seems like opening a store on Etsy is kind of like building a castle on sand. Imagine working hard for 2-3 months and then getting suspended without a way to contact support. The risk is too high. I rather sell on Shopify.

I have tried it on my shop and for the listings that are selling a lot, it is super close to accurate but it's still all just an algorithm to guess based on how many favorites and reviews it has, so it'll never be 100%. It's more a tool to help you quickly and easily weed out the listings that are doing well instead of having to manually look through 100's and try and guess how many sales they have yourself based off the same information if that makes sense!
Okay I keep hearing different things about the location of where you are, and where you're selling to. I'm in Australia, but targeting to the US. I've put my location on the shop front as the US, because then it markets to US audience. Otherwise if I change it back to Australia, my products show up more so to Australian residents, not US consumers. My profile states I live in Australia in another section...and I've not hidden from Etsy that I'm in Australia. What am I supposed to do?
Hi Cassiy, I have an Etsy shop now for over a year, no issues, always obey Etsy rules and policies, I tried to open a second store, did all the security they ask for, driver's license, social security, live camera face, home address, phone, email confirm, bank account connected and confirmed and paid their new $15 fee, as soon as it was going to be opened they suspended the store, they responded that after careful consideration does not qualify for reinstatement, but they did take my money, I don't know what to do next, please help.
I had my store permanently closed a few days ago and I didn't infringe on any of the points you mentioned, I did not receive an email explaining what the problem was either like Etsy say they do
I heard that friends and family ordering from you is encouraged. What if ONLY the IP address is the same? As in the order was just placed at your house?

You do need a new email for each account but I recommend only having one Etsy shop! You can sell different niches and products all in one store. It’s easier to focus all in one spot for sure! I’ve got a video on my channel about niche stores vs general stores that would be worth a watch if you’re interested!

A less common way is to get too many orders, too quickly. If you can't process orders fast enough (Because, you don't have enough working machines), and the process times go up accordingly, the later batch of impending "late cases" will suspend your account.

You can also lose your shop by having "too many cases" opened against you. How many that is, who knows - that's up to etsy but it has definitely happened. ( had an non-pod etsy store since 2008, Ive seen a lot, LOL ) Love your kitty 💜😻

I believe you are right, that it does stop US customers from finding you. The US has a great advantage there. If you don't mind answering, how do you take out your location from the public profile. I tried and it won't let me.

That's why you need to start email marketing so if something happens to your account you can redirect your customers to your own store

I’ve looked at a few and it seems that some are trademarked and others aren’t so you just need to check each of them!
