I forgot to mention that currently we are in Chiang May Thailand into 15th week of our 31 weeks travel schedule. We plan to return home in Greenville SC in early March. Personally I have traveled to 103 countries and I still keep going. Keep up the good work!
I lived in Zipolite for 8 mo before Covid and used to go to Mazunte to swim in the coves…Much Yoga and some interesting innovated restaurants at least B4 Covid. Zipolite is a throwback from the 60’s where clothes r optional on the beaches and Motta is widely smoked everywhere ….this is the Look the other way place in Mexico no where else in Mexico is like this ….and it has grown a lot Hotel etc since Covid and there is also camping! Definitely a place to ck out!
Sounds fantastic. I'm curious how they handled the covid hysteria. Did people "look the other way" if you couldn't wear a mask?
@@dougcampbell3268 not sure how Covid treated Zipolite as far as the small community and all I’ve lost touch with the couple of my local friends and haven’t been back I continued on to Puebla for over a year and loved it ~a beautiful small city that felt like a town w all the beautiful parks and churches and Color great food and wonderful people ~ all that makes Mexico so beautifully wonderful❣️
sounds like perfection
Not far away from where I live right now. Living in Huatulco. Just moved this October
Oh nice! How are you liking Huatulco?
Hualtulco is on our list of possibilities as well
@@MexicoRelocationGuidewe love Huatulco as the first time we visited last February. Every Saturday they have organic market in Santa Cruz. I did my temporary resident through the INM right at playa Santa Cruz. The staffs were super helpful. One of them speaks English.
The only downside is the internet. It isn’t too reliable unless you get a rental place with starlink which is not as much as Puerto Escondido.
Hello, I hope it’s ok to reach out to you. I live in Canada currently and I want to rent a place for 3 or 4 weeks either End of Oct or any time in November 2024. Do you know any person you can refer to me for a contact? Just looking for someone who is honest. Thank you.
Stayed there for 3 or 4 days while traveling thru Oaxaca State. I loved it!
Nice!
Thanks Marianne for your information. My wife and I will be spending two months starting Nov 25. We will spend time primarily in Mazatlan, Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Oaxaca. Look forward to learning more from your website. Cheers!

Oooh my kind if place ! Greetings from Buffalo, New York ! Liz
Yea! I kind of figured a lot of people are looking for this kind of beach town. Glad you liked the video. Next time you'll have to visit
East aurora ny here
Mazunte and Zipolite are great beach communities that are not wanting the big resort names like Hilton etc to buy up beachfront and change how these places are. I hope they never change how they run the towns . These places are very beautiful , a chill laidback altitude and the friendliest people that live in these areas. The dirt roads add to the charm and to be honest one of best Mexican beach destinations i have been to in mexico after 40 trips in my years. Don’t go there so it doesn’t become too popular !! LOL
And…all those areas r really wonderful vibes and places to live and or visit ! Mariana fantastic job in explaining the vibe (s) I enjoy your videos Mahalo for you ❣️
Mahalo! thanks for watching.

Hola, watching from northern Ohio. This looks like a really awesome laid-back place. Definitely on my list to check out in Mexico.
Nice! Glad we could show you this place. Make sure you visit our site for more cities we recommend mexicorelocationguide.com/blog/
I'm learning a lot of helpful info from many of your videos, and this place sounds like a possibility for me as a first stop in Mexico while I learn about other locations for longer term living. I live in Arizona, been here a long time, but in the colder northern part. I've also lived in the desert. Now I'm looking for a place to live long term and work online and also have a slower pace life and in Mexico! :) I like a lot of sun but not too hot. And eventually would like a more rural area when I can get a car there. Thanks for all your help on your website and TH-cam!

Omygosh looks amazing
Watching from Huatulco. Love this place but it's sudden growth after Covid has me giving it 2 more years (maybe less) before it becomes too crowded (locals and foreigners) overbuilt without thought to infrastructure. The small town feel of Huatulco pre-Covid was a major reason to live here. Sadly, it's starting to lose that in the dust and busyness of overconstruction and development.
Gracias! Bellisima! John de Vermont

Thank you for your video. How do the recycled building materials hold up in hurricanes?
great question- you’d have to ask the builders. I personally didn’t see any Hurricane past damages but could be everything was repaired since there hasn’t been a hurricane in a while around here

Happy New Year! I just found your channel today and have several questions. I am looking for accommodations for 2-3 months and need something in the $250-$300/month range. Is that possible in this area?
It’s possible but you won’t be near the ocean - but yes possible
Looks perfect, but, what is a dry bathroom? can the toilets be flushable?
Yeah I was wondering about this as well. What is a dry bathroom?
it’s the kind that has a separate sink and shower. most likely what you are used to. a wet bathr on is where the shower and sink all share the same floor so it gets wet and there is a large drain on the floor. these are used for very small spaces
We have been looking in Huatulco and wow we love this place. We left the cities in the US years ago and living in small towns or large villages. :) knowing MX can be noisier, we have been searching for a quieter more country setting with beach in MX. We are definitely going to do an exploratory trip to this area this year. I love the eco vibe. I've never heard of dry bathrooms. I did a search on line. Is Mezante's dry bathrooms different than most dry bathrooms? Do you have a link to share? Thanks again!

Hello! Watching from Costa Rica where my home base has been for the past 5 years. It is unlikely I will ever want to live at or near the beach. But I had to see where I could potentially live for around $300 per month. I appreciate the pricing being mentioned in both pesos and USD. I am enjoying all of your informational videos as I consider Mexico for a future home base. Thank you!
Lucky you . I lived in Dominical for 5 months and Yes . near the Beach was hot , night and day . However , I don't think it's that intense in Oaxaca . I miss CR .
thanks for watching - check out our site also mexicorelocationguide.com/guide/
How is the cost of living in CR?
It varies from area to area for the same reasons it varies throughout Mexico@@angelstar7656
@@angelstar7656 it has probably gone up since 2016 when I was there . at that time , a single could live on $1, 000. 00 a month or even less . but you need to live a simple Life , as the locals do . use the bus , cook at home and avoid touristy things and bars . inflation is everywhere but you can get by . a good place if you Love Nature , avoid Big Cities . you might like Panama too .
I need to retire in Mexico. I’m mobility challenged and only need a studio, close to a store. My brother has a house in Carambuche Baja, about 40 miles west of Loreto. It’s at the end of a road, but requires a 60 mile trip to a city with ATMs. I’m thinking it may be better to live in a small town with an ATM. Duane

Hola! Bienvenido!
Watching out skirts of Honolulu , any surf breaks ? Aloha
Puerto Escondido is a better place for surfing
Super well done video. My one suggestion is when mentioning pricing in Mexican pesos is to also provide USD. I found myself having to pause the video several times to look up the conversion rate. This is just a minor detail of course because otherwise, really good and informative content. Watching in NYC.
Maybe best to become comfortable with the local currency since the exchange rate fluctuates quite a bit. Today’s exchange rate might grossly over/under estimate prices in USD in just 12 months. Or just divide by 20 and then add back about 15% to reflect the current rate. Pretty basic once you become comfortable with pricing in pesos.
Spoken like a true, lazy American. Simple math is just too much for you.
SLC, UT
and ps we just rented in cancun 4bedr house in private community for 30.000 pesos.
Good for you. I hope you get to enjoy your life in Cancun a lot :)
Good day. My husband and I are looking into moving to Mazute Oaxaca. We are living in the area of Lake Chapala area in San Antonio Tlayacapan Jalisco. We have our temporal visa and will be getting our permanent visa next year.
I am interested in finding out the cost of renting a pet friendly long term home in the area. If you could help us I would greatly appreciate it
Hi Deb- I am not a realtor. I do however have a great resource to help you find the best rentals on your own
mexicorelocationguide.com/best-rentals-in-mexico/
However, because you probably don't know the area, and might need some additional help (renting in Mazunte will be different than renting in Lake Chapala), I'd recommend working with a good local realtor who knows the area. If you need a recommendation I have a great realtor in our complete Mexico Relocation Guide that works in Huatulco and Mazunte in all budgets and can help you out.
To get access to our list of recommended realtors, you'd have to purchase our guide

My friend and I and my small dog are looking for a two bedroom, two bathroom, kitchen and hopefully within 10 minutes from beach. It would be nice to have a yard for my dog to run. Our max would be $2000 cad. Also for the months of February and March. Close to most amenities
Thank you
Hello from Medicine Hat Alberta Canada. We just returned from a 2 week vacation in Huatulco
I wonder if cartels are into real estate and sometimes we’re paying rent indirectly to them. Not saying it’s so, just wondering.

all is right, I was there last week,
I am however very mad about the illegal daily shark massacre that happen evrey morning on the beach of san angustinillo.
The fishermen quickly hide their bounty and chop the head off so we can't take pictures.
Those are the same guys who will then take you on a boat tour .
I loved mazunte, but this is non sense and a ecological disaster !
