I got sacred heart and polyphemus, also high movement speed on azazel and got forgotten. I just try forget the countless retries I did trying to find pyromaniac first floor, switching to Isaac for a break, then getting pyromaniac and since Isaac is slow and has bad damage I didn't kill the boss in under a minute.
Ehehehe, just unlocked Forgotten Today, through a combination of Maggy's Faith, Various HP Ups, Monstro's Lung (On the first floor, no less), and... actually the Old Bandage, Old Bandage saved my life on a couple occasions. ...And then I went to Delirium with Full Brimstone, Monstro's Lung, Eye of the Occult.
If you can't find a bomb, devs gave an anti-frustration feature where the sacrifice room (spikes in the middle) will give you one for a heart (stepping on the spikes). Oh and don't worry, cause it's specifically a Sacrifice room, even flying characters can damage themselves on the spikes.
Man, unlocking The Forgotten is tough. The only thing that saved my not so good run was an Ace of hearts in the boss rush (and the bosses spammed a lot of spiders and flies so...). Basically i was able to heal any damage done to me by those feet and the bosses, it was pretty satisfying
Another strategy is to play Isaac+Azazel coop and go for a gnawed leaf in treasure room with Isaac. Now you got rid of the legs and obtained a way to cheese boss rush with newfound stompmachine 9000
idk if you knew this just thought it be helpful(even though you already gottem) if you use the shovel it stops the foot from appering for the room or wave if on boss rush

I unlocked The Forgotten today (not for the first time, I just started a new savefile) after a couple tries - losing a really good run to the 'I'll just leave the shovel here and carry another active item into a different room' small brain idea - and I had fun with it. It's definitely a memorable way of unlocking a character, and pretty much guarantees a swift run. It took a couple tries, sure, but after experiencing the bullshit called Jacob+Esau and like half of the tainted characters, this is nothing. Also, why you never actually use the Broken Shovel to stop the stomping?

Brother I had everything.After completing the shovel and beating the heart I chose blue womb. Bad choice. Even with 10 red hearts I died. I even found polycepalus,the op damage booster.I don't know how to dodge the husk.
Do you have to have repentance or do you just need to rebirth cuz it's not working every single time I defeat the boss and under 1 minute and I go to the same spot to drop the shovel to blow the spot up in the shovel drops it don't drop the shovel never drop. You need at least afterbirth plus. The order for the DLC's is rebirth > afterbirth > afrterbirth plus (with 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5 booster packs) > Repentance The forgotten came out just with the 5th booster pack of afterbirth plus
Funny story tried to do this on and off over a week got annoyed with terrible items and getting curb stomped over and over played other characters for fun 1st try after giving it a break for a few days... 1st red chest soul hearts “Oh cool I thought” 2nd red chest devil deal...BRIMSTONE Item room spoon bender If that wasn’t good enough got proptosis a few floors later

i dont get it, i beat the boss under one minute with azazel in normal mode and nothing happens. i already have a shovel unlocked but it isn't called mom's shovel but "we need to go deeper".
I feel wrong (unknowingly because of being noob) to use command to get shovel. To make up for my mistake, I will unlock the forgotten again with normal method
I actually unlocked the forgotten Has Samson. I got bonked once or twice for damage and i beat the boss quickly. And then I found pyro on base 1. And later in the run I got brim and monstros Lung.
After you get the shovel you wantnto reach the boss rush, so within 20 minutes you have to beat mom. After that, you're free to use all your time however you want

After you get the shovel you wantnto reach the boss rush, so within 20 minutes you have to beat mom.

Fun fact it actually doesn't matter how long you take as long as you have the broken shovel you are guaranteed to get the boss rush
