It's been two and a half years since I dropped this video, and its popularity has suddenly gone nuclear compared to my others. This video alone is responsible for -doubling- QUADRUPLING my sub count in the last month. Less of a surprise is that lots of you are wondering if - and hoping that - I will make more of these. To the point: it's definitely in my interests to start making videos about high-difficulty Repentance shenanigans when my free time allows. But don't by any means expect me to make them consistently; I make these funni Satan baby videos as a hobby, not as a job, and it will always stay that way. The fact that most TH-cam channels need to sponsor pubic hair trimmers just to make a living speaks poor volumes about TH-cam's drip-feed monetization system, and I can't budget the time to make content full-time anyway with real life and more appealing career interests in competition. That being said, thank you all for the crazy growth spurt. Whatever I end up doing, I'll catch you all on the flipside
@@MrSquid-lx2cm to obtain the broken shovel you have to beat the basement 1 boss in less than a minute (azazel reccomended) to obtain the mom's shovel you have to complete boss rush while avoiding the feet to obtain the forgotten you have to find an empty room in the dark room with a square in the middle and dig it using the shovel tip: using the broken shovel as an active item causes the feet to stop appearign for a room, it will stop them for 1 boss wave in boss rush
I love that if you get an activable item in the boss rush you don't have to suffer The shovel only dissapears if you leave the room withouth it after all

Especially now. Yikes. Repentance is gonna make me want to do regular first since there is a huge difference.. I just don't want to play that much more

When I was tired to fail horribly in the attempt to get the Forgotten I just gave up and wanted to do something else instead, so I decided to try and beat Mega Satan with Azazel in hard, when all of sudden I entered the first treasure room and there it was, my salvation. Pyromaniac. I inmidately rushed into the boss room and got the broken shovel, that way, I was able to unlock the forgotten.
It's like the broken television from gungeon, you need to carry an active item that hinders you to the last floor for a new character, but nice job. It took me a couple tries to get the forgotten too
Now, in Repetentance, the machine breaks every time you bomb it. Didn't see patchnotes but I have tried 5 times with a bomb and it always broke (it still rerolled)
I hate the adversary, and it threw 2 at me, and died. I raged the most I ever have in my life, because I rarely make it to the depths in this challenge.
How to unlock The Forgotten in Repentance: You don't, you right click the game in steam, go to DLC, and check off Repentance. You then go back to Afterbirth+ and find the un-nerfed Pyromaniac/Host Hat in the first treasure room and do the unlocking.
“Welcome to the salty spitoon, how tough are ya?” “How tough am I? HOW TOUGH AM I? I unlocked the forgotten” “Yeah? So what, I got mine pretty easily” “Without using azazel.” “-Uh right this way sir sorry to keep you waiting-“
I remember going through all this to then stop playing as the forgotten because I suck ed with him. Gonna be fun taking the challenge back on Repentance now uhh
The true irony that my reflection would have given azazel more rage, and scape goat would have helped distract regular enemies while you focus on avoiding feet
Doing this in repentance was a painful experience I'd rather not go through again. Being on half a heart in the depths, the boss rush, and a Daddy Long Legs boss fight in the Dark Room never felt so terrifying. On the bright side, I did manage to snag a final true ending win on my first ever Forgotten run.
My experience waspretty much the exact same, except for my "victory shred" was me getting killed by the lamb immediately after getting the forgotten (which took clearing the entire floor to find the stupid room btw)

@@Tr0lliPop yes, quite a lot. Also, the stomps counted as an explosion at the time of recording, so they totally could've used them to reroll without repentance
the mulligan thing enemies that spawn in sacred wombs turn into floating pieces, those floating pieces when destroyed turn into projectiles. Hence the hit at 4:38
I always wondered what was up with that empty room in the dark room. I figured there was some importance, otherwise they wouldn't have put it there. Now I know.
I know this is unbelievable, but it happened to me on my first attempt to unlock The Forgotten. I was playing with Azazel, in my first treasure room I got "Dr. Fetus", with this I managed to clean the rooms in seconds. Already on the third floor, in the angel's room, I found the "Sacred Heart", with this all I did was move through all the rooms shooting randomly. I managed to easily get to the Dark Room and unlock The Forgotten. Not only did I achieve that on that run, but I managed to do all 4 victory laps and unlock the Rerun. So far, it was the best game I have ever had at TBOI.
I slogged all the way to boss rush, beat and got the shovel, then when I managed to reach the dark room, the first room I go into has the DUMBASS spider boss that hangs from the ceiling that can just DECIDE to be invincible when he please and he destroyed me... I WANT TO PERISH!
cool tip: Azazel's the fool card can be useful by entering a curse room, then fooling out of it. (you take no damage because of his flying on the way in)
i once did the boss room but the other piece of the shovel spawned with another item close to it and i ran into that other item accidentally. I died inside on that day

Me too. Pyromaniac make you inmune to explosions, the foot of mom count as a explosion

A+ Forgotten was easy, you could pretty much onehit everything when going melee
I unlocked him by getting (by random chance) death cert effect on a metronome and picked already assembled shovel from there lol.
I literally got host hat the first time I was doing this challenge and I still managed to fuck it up somehow

this video is so relatable up to beating boss rush and then it kinda starts becoming too unrealistic

you could pick up an active item in boss rush and leave the shovel alone so its easier, then pick it back up
I made it to the dark room with moms shovel ready to unlock the forgotten and then died in the dark room

The painless way to unlock forgotten is to reroll games until you will get pyromaniac or host hat in the item room next to spawn room
imagine doing this as the lost without any items like pyromaniac to protect you
