    Honestly, I think I prefer the Bass Whammy. The smoother tracking just sounds better to my ears.

      youre probably right but using the ps6 with an expression pedal is much better

    Thank you for making this. I use the PS6 and have it on a couple guitar boards. I think it's strength is the harmony function. The "pitch shifting" doesn't quite add up to the Whammy and doesn't have a couple intervals though the Whammy is ENORMOUS for a small board. I hope Boss is still pushing to get it just a bit better - I mean, it's a killer pedal just needs a tad more.

    Hmmm some Tool stuff going on under the pedals... ;)

    Is it me or the dust on the black sheet forms something close to tool's 10,000 days artwork? Maybe, it's something underneath, not dust: I'm confused.

      scale at 3.07
      Whammy weight = 440 g
      Boss`s weight = 1,6 kg !!
      Is it TRUE? Look - not vice versa?

    Smart song choice seeing as Justin Chancellor uses whammy shifter himself

    I have the Bass Whammy and BOSS PS3. I have the PS-5 on the way and can't wait to try it. AS for the PS3,I find the most use with it in mode 4. I started demo-ing pedals in my channel so maybe I'll do a shootout after it arrives. Too bad I got rid of the Meris Hedra to add to the mix

    Wow, a 1300mA current draw compared to 45mA is very significant

    • @spartacus735
      @spartacus735 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The whammy don't use 1300ma , he made a mistake. it's ~ 180 / 230ma. The 1300ma is the current draw of the power supply include with the pedal.( source : stinkfoot )

      +siebe sijpkens thanks a lot! bought the Harmonist with the detune setting and whammy with a harmony setting. Some Delay added later with a plug in.

    Can U use the PS-6 six as a simple octave up effect? In the harmony mode can it emulate chords or only 2 notes at the same time?

    • @azenhar
      @azenhar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can. :) you can add an extra cot up, schift the signal an octave up and even use the switch for a quick momentary shift. there are some 3 voice chords that you can do with the thing. check the manual for details.
      Cheers!

    Which pedal do you prefer?

    • @azenhar
      @azenhar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      IMHO the whammy is better for harmony pitch shifting. I used the two for
      the Detune option as a chorus. There I find both equal, so I choose
      the harmonist because it's smaller and has less current draw. I already switched it to an even smaller pedal thou :)

    Have I got to plug 2 output cables to have 3 voices sound?

    • @azenhar

      +Omero Vitali think so, you can check the manual. Its downloadable from the boss site.

      azenhar idk if you figured this out or not but you get 3 voicings all the time with the Harmony setting. if you run mono all will be sent to one output of your running stereo it'll split the voicings separating them between outputs.

    My PS-6 sounds waaaaaaaay better than your demo!
    I wonder what it would sound like IN FRONT of the signal chain. You may want to try that.
    - PS, The PS-6 has a lot more options. The Super Bend mode has a +4 octave Up Shift and, in my opinion, a monster +2 octaves AND -2 octaves at the same time (in Stereo or Mono)! Kinda like a Hammond B3 organ sound!
    - Peace :-)

    • @azenhar

      THX for the idea, but unfortunately I no longer have the boss or the whammy... got a mooer pitch box (only use the detune option, so it's sufficient). the bass whammy is true bypass though, don't think It's would influence the boss.
      I tried to compare the options that both pedals have. That's why I didn't show all the options of the pedals.
      Thanks for the feedback! cheers :)

      if you mean that the harmonist sounds worse than the whammy, your opinion. :)
      If you mean that I processed the sound of the harmonist to make it sound better, than I SWEAR I did not... There is no money flow between me and BOSS, i assure you ;)
