I remember watching University Challenge with my Mum and Dad, and I was only 10 at the time, but they were impressed at the fact that I could answer some of the questions
14:41 Margaret Tudor? Wasn't the daughter of Cecily Neville known as Margaret of York, before becoming Duchess Consort of Burgundy? She never accepted Henry Tudor and supported anyone who challenged him.
Disappointing that Hans Christian Lumbye's "Copenhagen Steam Railway Galop" wasn't part of the "classical music inspired by trains"-round. It is by far the best train inspired piece.
Everyone talks about Emma Johnson for Her looks yet watching this She is'nt solely a pretty face Her knowledge is astounding. She might not have been quickest to the buzzer yet on every set of bonus questions She always had a fair idea or knew the answer to every question ::) p.s. making me very proud to love general knowlege and be Irish ::)
As I have commented before, I like words, and I especially like when more obscure or technical words get used in a serious context. Heliocentrism, therefore, just pushes all my buttons in that regard... :)
Emma Hunt Johnson She graduated in Channing School Highgate I love her.Brainy and beautiful. Her sister Chloe is beautifuo too. Wishing I could meet her when I visit london soon:)Hoping
This was one of the episodes where the point of UC was met, namely general knowledge, meaning both Arts and Science questions. Unusually no geography questions, as far as I recall.
How delicious and real while we're all tangled in a disastrous fantastic mess here at home. Thank you loads from California.
Thanks, as always, for the upload. A good match!

Thank you! You are my TH-cam hero!
psimanjuntak thank you for posting these.
Venkatesh makes me laugh - Corpus Christi are really entertaining to watch :)
He appears to have a most charming personality, devoid of conceit, in spite of his vast knowledge.
Venkatesh needs a to bring a backpack next time he's definitely carrying that team.
Johnson answered at least 3 starters and they all contributed well.
Thanks you so much for uploading!
15:46 Voake is so livid at Levinson.
Yes, she looked like a young Queen for a second!
Don’t know why - he wasn’t the one who lost points on that question. Perhaps she wasn’t after all.
Disappointing that Hans Christian Lumbye's "Copenhagen Steam Railway Galop" wasn't part of the "classical music inspired by trains"-round. It is by far the best train inspired piece.
thanks, and glad you're back
Johnson is class! Still need to see a Monkman vs Seagull though
And Levinson has one hell of a long name
That look of disappointment and disbelief at 15:45

😘
She said she's originally from New York, but she sounds more English than American.
Yup, me too.
As an American, I find the very first question to be entirely appropriate to the present day…
So you know, the title is slightly off.
Newcastle upon tyne in Belfast eh?
He meant both places.
And
Is this guy's name Shao Lin?
Peterhouse - Cambrdige; where's that, please?!!!!!!
Cambridge. England.
good game! even by UC standards, peterhouse are some awkward bunnies.
1:33-1:36 I thought you said you were from Leicestershire?
I thought I was the only who noticed I'm confused
27:13 Lin's answer is still very good
Thanks!

l miss Bamber Gascoin
Oooo's that then? I know of one Bamber Gascoigne, however. Don't prefer him to Mr Paxman, find them both superb quizmasters.
"pieces inspired by railway travel" :....um, Mozart? (Groan.)
Voake horsewhipped her team following this. What a scold!
They didn’t know the answer to the Brachistochrone problem!!!???!
Wtf?
Yeah, I learned that in elementary school! C'mon, idiots!

Venkatesh is very PPE, yeah?, yeah?
That's the girl you'd hope to meet. Why would anyone want to blemish. If it was a bloke, you'd all be quizzing over yourself (esp. the males)
Wow! Some fantastic clunge this week.

Again: far too many useless bloody Arts topics.
