I totally didn't even realize how female lead this series is, the characters are so dynamic and interesting it doesn't feel like the gender of the characters is being put in the spotlight, they are just being allowed to be fully fleshed out.

League of Legends universe and storywise has always had these strong female lead characters (the entirity of Freljord for example)

They arent making a point to highlight the fact they are women in positions of power, or show them as infallible, they are flawed and thats what makes them so dynamic... granted they are for the most part better at what they do than most the male characters

Because it is done right. More like 'traditional' strong female characters along the lines of Ripley from Alien.
You just throw a character into situations that allow them to grow and overcome hardships. No matter their gender.
It is organic. Strong focus on gender usually takes away from both the character and the plot. And doesn't really help the cause you might have.
The pink haired girl and this girl (2:50) were in the Warriors Cinematic, fighting the mechanical crab guy if you guys remember that :D They might look a little different because this is a prequel but I hope you appreciate the detail nonetheless. You guys are great, lovin it :)

I got into playing League a year and a half ago (I wasn't really interested into it b4) and I can tell you, when I started getting into the lore the game went from 100% to 500%, the history behind the characters and the regions are so cool.
Arcane is an open window for they to keep doing the same thing for the rest of the stories and they're all so great you guys can't miss this, we're so hyped up and I'm so happy you guys are sharing this with us
The characters and lore they’ve built are fascinating. We’ve only scratched the surface but plan to keep watching more League stuff and can’t wait for this series 😃
I hope this is one of many seasons. With each season focusing on other characters stories, and eventually tieing all together

@@Carlinios this one story is one season broken up into 3 acts 3 episodes each. The entirety of the LoL lore couldn't be explored in just 9 hours. OP has the same hope many of us do where success of this first season sparks the creation of many more. After watching the first three episodes, I know it will gain more support. The show is fantastic. Arcane is definitely not definitively the end of this

Arcane series will be focused on the sisters Jinx( blue haired) and Vi ( pink hair), where Jinx seems to have been taken away by Silco( villian) and experimented on her, and Vi tries to get her sister back, along with some childhood drama and fightings along the way of course
Sets in Piltover( topside/golden ) and Zaun (undercity/green), cities of technologies and progressions built right on top of each other, of which also state their level within society, the rich/royalty lives in the top side, the poor lives within the undercity….which means we’ll likely also dive into the political side of the region between the people of piltover and zaun.
Yup! We’ll also be seeing some stuff from some other League characters too. We’ll most likely be seeing the origins of the conflict between Jayce (the guy talking about harnessing magic with science) and Viktor in this as well. Heimerdinger (the yordle) is of course involved. Caitlyn will be in this as well, working with Vi. And people are thinking the character Vander might be Warwick. It’s gonna be great

League is one of the very few games where people love everything about it except for the actual game. The game is incredibly complex for it's absurdly high learning-curve, very addictive and is infamous for it's very toxic playerbase.
If you're interested in learning more about the world, the lore or the characters just look them up in their entirety on Riot's websites, you don't really need to play the game to understand everything and I suggest you shouldn't because that game can sometimes really bring out the worst in people.
But still if you really wanna get into it then go ahead because who am I to stop you
We generally don’t do online games and like story based games. But the world lore characters of LoL really hooks us 😀🤩 not to mention the animation. Visually stunning in their videos we’ve seen 😍

I just finished watching the first three episodes, which is act one of the series. (I believe its 3 3-episode acts for a total of 9 episodes, released over 3 weeks.) Anyway, it had me bawling my eyes out. Would love to see you guys react to the series. It's so well done.
You definitely don't have to play League to enjoy it, either. In fact in some ways it could almost be better if you don't.

For u are gettin not really spoilerd, but u basically know where everything is leading to, just not how it begins. After u watch the Series u can then look up the Lore as much as u want.
If look up the Lore now or after the Show is up to u, u will enjoy it either way.
I fear that u might get spoilers before u start the show, bc the Internet is full of memes and spoilers about the series.

KEN AND BETHANY, something that can't be denied is that NETFLIX animations are among the best I've seen to date. Since the moment I saw this trailer just over a month ago I'm hyped to see it. Another example is the trailer for the animation CASTLEVANIA that I saw at that time and I really liked it. When I saw the series from the beginning I went crazy, because I didn't expect to see such a well done animation, very well written dialogues, the characters' voices too and the battles almost took my breath away, especially the final battle in season four.
We’ve heard Castlevania is a good show on Netflix. We will have to check it out at some point 🤩
This trailer is one of my all-time favorites. And the show ABSOLUTELY lived up to the hype.

Both halfs of the City have theire own Theme its recognizable in the different Charakters in Piltover the driving Force of their technology is the Hex-Tech what Jayce mentioned the fusion of technology and magic. The Characters look normal and the weapons they carry looks more out of a jules verne roman very similar to Steampunk (Ezrael, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Jayce, Orianna) . Zaun on the other hand uses so called Chem-Tech the characters from there uses mostly poison they are sometimes mutans or abominations (Twitch, Dr Mundo, Warwick, Singed, Urgot) more crazy overall then the guys from the top.

I'm assuming this story takes place early in the careers of a lot of LoL characters, so many of them are unrecognizable. I am pretty sure Jayce, Heimerdinger, and Ezreal were cameos , Senna I *THINK* is the young girl whom you thought might be from Wakanda, before she is corrupted and tortured by Thresh, and the guy with the crazy eye *MIGHT* be Viktor or Brand. The kid on the hoverboard *MIGHT* be Ekko. Me just placing names to people who's mannerisms fit them. I am assuming htey will run through the full lore of the game as they animate different seasons, which will eventually bring them up to speed with the current versions of characters.
BTW, I am glad my favorite reality show couple is back reacting to some quality stuff!

You're incorrect on three of the assumptions, which are:
- There's no Ezreal cameo, it's just a rando.
- That's not Senna, she's from Demacia like Lucian.
- Your have to specify on the type of vehicle that ekko rides on, because ekko is featured on the Enemy MV, the guy on the hoverboard is a new character, and maybe (still debatable) will be the next champ that they will implement to the game.
What's senna doing in Piltover zaun though? Timeline-wise it's impossible to be her since the woman in trailer looks too old. Senna is the sentinel of light in demacia, the sentinel's HQ in demacia is quite far from piltover. And the most important thing is, the woman in the trailer is a politician, how would someone who hunts ghouls and zombies everyday have a time for politics?

I’m so excited for this series I’ve been playing league since it first launched and I loved seeing the progression to morph from a simple game into a universe that has so many stories to tell. I’ve rewatched this trailer like 100x and honestly I cry whenever I see the scene with the dad telling vi (whose holding the hands of a crying young jinx) that she has a good heart, not to lose it and above all else protect your family. I don’t know why that hits me so hard but it does. I just can’t wait to see this!

I'm not sure if you made the connection, but Vi, the pink haired sister that has the gauntlets, was also in the Warriors video where Bethany called her badass! I cannot wait for this series to come out...and I can't wait to see your reactions to it!

they are awesome indeed, arcane is the backstory for these characters (and many others in league) so the hype is real
Gotta add, the wakanda queen I am pretty sure is the president of Piltover (the city of progress, so I dont expect her to be all that nice) they have Zaun under their thumb (the city that is in shambles and the people barely scraps by and is dangerous af- also the city were Vi and jinx live their childhood)
Oh cool, so she is going to be a villain esque character. 😁 We are excited for this show and really hope it doesn’t let the League community down because this has potential to bring a lot of new people in 😃
A note about playing LOL: I would suggest against playing the main game. Not saying its not fun, but its addictive, a very toxic community and is better if you are playing with a large group of friends. The game I would suggest is Legends of Runeterra. Its a fantastic online card game from the same creators and with the same lore, and will give you more tidbits of lore than the original game will (and its available on mobile or PC, so that's a plus)

We should make a post about that. It’s going to be a bit of both. We will post on Saturdays and Sundays consistently and then leave the week open to react to anything new that might come out. 😇 At least to start. Eventually we will probably have a schedule and fun themes going 🥳
one of the things thats sort of sad is that we're going to see how the villain silco's experimentation on her eventually leads her into psychosis. The black "nubian" woman is one if not the leading head over the city of piltover and theres struggles she experiences trying to find a way to unite the upper city piltover with the undercity slums of zaun. Other league characters that make appearances in this is are heimerdinger, the yordle invested into science and invention, jayce, viktor (someone who works with jayce up until he completes his transformation into a cyborg) Caitlin, the sheriff of piltover who accompanies vi on several missions, ( for some reason they made her appearance more asian and changed the voice actor) vander ( the adoptive father of vi and jinx) who get captured and gets experimented on until he changes into warwick ( the werewolf creature that lurks in zaun) and those are the only confirmed ones but there are still a number of other characters who reside in piltover/zaun who may or may not make appearances like singed, ziggs etc.
Cool beans. We recognize some of those characters more than others (can’t forget a name like heimerdinger 😂). Looking forward to this 😃

with the new netflix series comming you two should really watch "Warwick: The Wrath of Zaun | Champion Teaser - League of Legends" that might tide in with the story or at the very least it takes place in the same district. great videos :)

I knew you two would be hooked on the story of the sisters ^^. Riot is working for 10 years on the lore so you can expect an amazing storytelling. I just hope they will continue the series with other regions and characters as I believe this will get more people to watch League of Legends - even if they are not interested in playing ! They just know how to advertise their product and expand their reach to new fans (music videos, great cinematics, a series now) and most important: they try new things out (different animation styles, real music productions mixing different languages in, releasing whole music albums, whole events for skin sets and diversity in characters- e.g we have Varius, a gay character). they also appreciate reaction videos as a form of advertisement instead of striking it.
A must see are also the world championship opening ceremonies, too.
This is a short from the opening ceremony when they let the elder drake from the main game fly into the stadium - really well done in my opinion

But the rest should be viewed after you go through the kda, true damage music videos and themesongs for the worlds because otherwise you might miss a lot of the special effects or can not relate. But man, these opening ceremonies hype you up as hell !

Jinx and Vi are the main characters and they are also playable characters in the game so they get a lot of the spotlight there will also be other playable characters like Ekko, Heimerdinger the Yordle and Caitlin the Sheriff who will probably have some roles. The others in the trailer like the woman you were talking about and the villain are not in League of Legends. I've seen them in the card game and there might me some lore about them but I haven't seen it but we probably have to wait for the show to learn more about them. I personally don't care about the gender of the characters as long as it's well written and well made I'll watch it :)

pretty sure arcane is centered around two of the older champions in game Jinx (blue hair) and Vi (Pink Hair) the men Jayce, viktor ect are occuring simultaneously in piltover (surface) where the girls story unfolds in Zaun (under city)

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 At around 1:58 in the video you see two guys. The one on the left is Viktor, who is actually from Zaun (the undercity) but his inventions were so impressive that he was sponsored to come to Piltover (the upper city) to study there.
I don't want to spoil anything because his story is really interesting but I'll say that Viktor definitely still has some resentment towards the Piltovans even if he is studying there- and Piltover still looks down on him, even though he's more brilliant than most of their own inventors.
The main reason the women stood out in this trailer is because they are established playable characters in the game and not forced into the film, which is what I hate most about "girl power" stories. When it was hinted that Jinx and Vi were sisters, the league community wanted to know more about them because they both seem to hate each other. Jinx became a murdering psycho and Vi became a vigilante. This film is essentially giving fans the back story on the characters that we've been asking for all those years ago. Finally we get to see what caused this rivalry.
Should be a fun show! Hope it lives up to and exceeds the potential shown here 😃🤩🥳
One thing I urge you two to do is either on your own time or for videos, do lore readings. There is amazing lore about the world and the characters on league sites like universe of league of legends or you can even look at the entirety of the map of Runeterra, accompanied with amazing illustrations that aid in world building. Since the game itself is not story driven, one must not play the game to love the universe. You can look at it like an amazing fantasy book, because like those books, they have created a world which you can explore, and with the help of those illustrations one can imagine, picture and create stories of themselves inside the universe of League of Legends.
Definitely interested to check out some more lore from LoL. We've been enjoying watching the cinematics and we also heard the music is pretty good as well. 😃

They may not even be REAL sisters, we always thought they were, but it seems more likely they are all orphans that formed a surrogate family to survive based on what Vander says to Vi ("Protect the Family") and the fact that there are other kids in the original reveal trailer

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Yes Vi, Jinx, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Viktor, Jayce and Warwick are all League of Legends champions and they are all part of the show, and this show is mainly going to tell the story of Vi & Jinx while exploring the backstories of other characters and expanding on them since the league of legends lore is very limited to a very short backstory of characters sometimes and just a few comics, this show will fully expand on Vi & Jinx's sisterhood, Viktor & Jayce's rivalry and how Vi gets her famous gauntlets and how Jinx turns insane, (since she's always insane in the game.)
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 this series is used to explain the lore of a lot of characters from Piltover and Zaun and how they overlap. The series will reveal a lot of details that League of Legends (Riot) lore kept a secret for almost 10 (!) years. For example that Vi and Jinx are sisters was only revealed when the first announcement of the upcoming series in 2019 was made. So there should a lot of details that fill in the plotholes that League left untold until now on purpose. Also we know that Warwick is an experiement by the Champion Singed and was human before - so everybody is excited to know more about that lore and there are a lot of speculations that the big guy with little Jinx and Vi is "pre-Warwick". I personally believe that the 2 yellow eyes coming through the crack at 1:57 in the trailer is Warwick, but we will see.
It is also unknown how exactly Jinx went crazy (what happend in detail) - we only know that she got her purple eyes in her crazy mental state from a drug. But no one knows if she got it on her own or was forced or anything like that- so Riot ensured that even old die hard LoL fans get a lot of new interesting information and will be hyped and hooked on the story.
And as you can see from these 2 trailers the story will be very emotional, action packed and intense - brilliant excecution in animation and storytelling is expected as you can see from the trailer. The english voice actors are so amazing and on point!
I think this will be a great success for Riot and I hope this is not a one time fan service (as the fans requested for years that they should make a movie we now get finally this series =^.^= )

If you're ever to play a League game, I suggest Legends of Runeterra. Way less pressure and less to learn, much deeper character interactions.
What’s the difference between them? We know Wild Rift is the mobile version right? Will they ever release a game on consoles? Or is that what Runeterra is? 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Legends of Runeterra is on mobile I believe. Not consoles. LoL and Wild Rift are MOBA games, aka games you play if you don't value your mental health and are addicted to serotonin. Card games are more chill and less frustrating to play and learn.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Legends of Runeterra is the Card Game set on the same universe. Everything that's Canon to League is Canon to LoR, but the game experiences are very, VERY different, and LoR is much more begginer friendly.
The reason the female leads worked in this is because it's just a genuinely good story. They didn't shoe horn stupid Hollywood politics down the audiences throats, they just told a good story. Jinx and Vi are amazing purely because they are compelling characters, and it has nothing to do with their genitalia.
Fully agreed with yall , dont worry tho the male characters are pretty deep too but the women in this gotta carry much more weight the first few episodes n season to really draw you in and it did not disappoint

Female characters are some of the most popular in League. That's not to say that there aren't popular male characters but for sure, many female characters are widely loved. This is interesting seeing as the large majority of the player base is male :D
And it shows that men can enjoy playing as female characters so no need to shy away from it gaming industry 😜 It’s gotten so much better over the years to be fair. 😊
there aren't many popular male characters that are part of Piltover. people legitimately forget Jayce even exist. Cait, Vi and Jinx are just the Piltover poster characters. so it definitely makes sense to feature them over anyone else. tho now that i think about it, most of the male characters are pretty flat compared to the female characters. so i can see why females, in general, are more popular than the guys in league
