  • RFID Technology for Libraries: RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is the latest technology to be used in library theft detection systems. Unlike EM (Electro-Mechanical) and RF (Radio Frequency) systems, RFID-based systems move beyond security to become tracking systems that combine security with more efficient tracking of materials throughout the library, including easier and faster charge and discharge, inventorying, and materials handling.

How do you make sure that they are not ripped off and the studnets just walk otu with the books

Good question, RFID can minimize/reduce the risk of book theft/theft, but no system is 100% foolproof. Camera surveillance can reduce the tearing and ripped off the books. I hope my answer make sense to your question.

Thanks for the video. A question: do exist the possibiliy of using a security password before active a rfid?

Thank you @Planeta Berria for your question and comment.
Many universities use barcodes and QR codes to verify the title and other information where self-check-in checkout exists. The Password can be used. It will complicate the layer if self-check-in and checkout are not existing in the library. Feel free to email me usuf12@gmail.com If you need a detailed explanation about the security password.
