You were curious about the meaning of red page that he holds in his hands. It's actually Scarlet Letter, a neat callback to Tyler Joseph's solo song 'Taken by Sleep', a really old one. Kind of makes Vignette a cycle in itself just like every other tracks and/or album as a whole
As mentioned Tyler said he sees this song as about addiction. Addiction can be to many things not just drugs or alcohol. In an interview somewhere Tyler said he felt he had an addictive personality which is a reason he doesn’t drink ….. he talked about his addiction to I think it was Candy crush (or something similar) 🤣🤣. But in seriousness, though he doesn’t use any addictive substance he understands addiction
