That’s crazy and Josh posted a picture on Instagram with a poster on the wall with lyrics from fake you out
“Get out of the road kid” is obviously said alot in the song but its all i can think of when i think of that line from fake you out!
@@Vinccey also can’t help but wonder if Tyler’s “get out of the road” was a sign from God since it directly follows him praying that the lights would take him home

I 100% agree on your analysis. Definitely not reading too much into it. To me it’s actually one of the most blunt and explicit times he’s addressed this topic in their music.
My granddaughter and her boyfriend are in this video as part of the concert crowd. They said it was an awesome experience!

this one is just so special, you can just imagine him in his 17 struggling with all these feelings and writing them in no phun intended and trying not to take his life away. for him may have been a car in the middle of the road, for me was a knife but for some people may be some medication, but we survived, we started fresh. it was worth it as he promised. stay alive |-/

You are spot on in your analysis. When tyler sings the bridge about " seeing the yellow dashes in the street & wanting the lights to take him home" he wanted to unalive himself by having a car hit him 😭 but he fought and decided to live and start a "next semester" a new chapter in his life. Such emotional lyrics. I cried when I first heard it yesterday. Glad Tyler can share his trauma with the world ❤
This song is basically him singing about him, Tyler Joseph almost killing himself and feeling anxious and full of PTSD of that momet.
And the whole "school" theme, as in 'next semester' he's singing about, _even though that bad thing happened, you can go into the next chapter/semester of your life and start fresh_

This song seems like a look back to the song truce, where he describes being in that moment in the middle of the road and doubting to end it all
This is one of those upbeat sounding songs that I just can't. Once I realized what he was saying, all I could think about was all the times I walked to and from school as a teenager in the middle of the road, hoping someone wasn't paying attention. 20 some odd years later, I'm still not sure if I'm thankful I'm still here, but I am thankful to Tyler and Josh for helping me keep the fight going. They deserve every good thing for what they do and the people they help.

If you pay attention you can see that Tyler jumped left 3 times which could be like 3 albums done by his own way (vessel, blurryface, trench), then he went THE RIGHT WAY once (scaled and icy, really pop-y radio sounding album) and then he comes back to going left his own way with Clancy mask and showing more confident posture and fighting mode which will be shown in new Clancy album 😁
Also there are many references in this music video, yellow stripes (trench album), black paint (blurryface album), the ukulele and going into the crowd (vessel album)
With Tyler there is never such a thing as coincidence with all of those hidden meanings

An earlier tøp song says “while you’re doing fine/ there’s some people and I/ who have a really tough time getting through this life/ so excuse us while we sing to the sky” This music video is exactly what those lyrics feel like😮

I teared up when hearing this song. It brought me up to my first year of college, how stressful and horrible it was. I was so lost and failing half of my classes. Right now im doing so much better, but I do remember back to those moments and I find myself thinking more about those small wonderful rare times I had, and the friends I was able to make even when I was struggling. I’m glad I pushed through it and made it to the next semester.
What striked me the most is how during the last sequence Tyler steps down to the crowd with a ukulele. By being there and showing just how much power blurryface (an allegory for self-doubt and depression) has over him, it's as if he was speaking to those who were too unsure of themselves to expose their wounds. As if he's telling them that it's okay to feel like this, it's okay to be depressed, because he's been there as well, and they have this back. I'm actually crying right now.

"Can you die of anxiousness" really hits home for me, when I was 18 and just graduating High school I had severe Anxiety, I couldn't sleep because my heart was racing, I felt dizzy and I couldn't breathe and it was so bad I didn't have a calm period (Where I felt normal)
it was so extreme I would sleep on the stairs because I was scared I would die in the middle of the night and my parents wouldn't find me for awhile (Because I was known to just stay in my room)
I had a similar period in high school. It was terrifying and I thought it would never end. Eventually it did once I started to be more open about it with my friends and family. I hope you're doing a lot better.

I think becoming more Confident In myself helped A lot.
So true. I got taken to hospital by ambulance due to a panic attack that was so bad my hands were stuck in a claw and I had no feeling, couldn’t move them cos I was starved from oxygen from hyperventilating so much…. The mind is SCARY

have not been this suicidal in ten years. went to my first therapy appointment and it made everything even worse. on Friday night, i found out that next semester was released during the time i had been in therapy, and it took a few days for me to find the song because i missed that original release time.
this is my therapy.

It is in fact possible to die of anxiety; anxiety spikes heart rate, if your heart isn’t strong there is a greater than 0% chance your heart breaks rhythm and can arrest. Very very rare, but it is possible lol
100% I went through a really bad episode where for DAYS my heart was racing, there was no rest and couldn't sleep because of it. had I had a weak heart I'm sure my heart would have given out.

He can explain what I’m going through currently more than I could or anyone else I know. Anxiety, depression, anxiety attacks, struggle with faith and purpose, no will to live etc. With each song and release I feel like my life is on the timeline of his story. Hoping that means I’m winning the war with my mind soon too

I'm right in the process of getting licensed as a counsellor in Canada and these guys are by far my favourite band. I've never had music speak to my own mental health struggles than from TOP. When I was really going through it and in the grips of alcoholism myself, Blurryface came out and I believe the songs on that album saved my life. 7 years sober now and living life. Tyler and Josh have saved lives.

Yes, Tom, you are on point! This song is very special. It's a call back to alot of things Tyler has expressed in other songs, earlier work. im glad to have watched this and seen where he mentioned that when he said start fresh next semester, it was likely because the grades would start anew every semester.
the main reason i say that is because in my current school, the grades are split into 4 groups of 9 weeks, and your grade doesnt reset at the semester or 9 weeks, you start the new 9 weeks all 3 times with the grades from the whole year, its just that the teacher cant touch the previous 9 week's grades

One of my favorite things about twenty one pilots is how they get youtube creators to ham it up in an effort to increase subscribers over the top of a happy sounding song about someone trying take their own life. It's almost like a personality test or rather an authenticity test...
Please try to go see them on tour this year. You definitely won’t regret it. Some of the best times of my life have been at a tøp concert 💛❤️

I believe he is talking about his different personas and the character your looking at is Clancy reemerging. I think the yellow dashes are from his trench album where his alternate ego had escaped and learns about Clancy not knowing it was him all along. I think this video is him remembering and once again emerging as Clancy in the end but now able to remember everything. In a sense he is combining the two egos into one so he can fight the bishops. The representation of all his anxieties. ITs a bit skitzophrenic,, but if you watch his other videos it kind of lines up. I also believe if you play his videos in a certain order, it can add context to this theory.
I’ve been a fan of the guys the last 4 years or so but missed out on the scaled and icy tour, this year I’m going everything in my power to go because I know this will be one of the coolest concerts ever

I definitely agree with you; on the song as a whole; especially with the message of hope. And with the message of hope; there is also the theme of understanding what it means to start over after; a catastrophic event; that may have been traumatizing. As for me, I am starting over, in my life; in college; for a new chapter in my life. And the reality of this; is that I am pushing through until the end of this semester; so I can really enjoy; what next semester has to offer. Because really; the reality is; that I am starting fresh; with next semester.

It's so sad that even therapy channels take better help for a sponsor. They are a TERRIBLE service that don't even actually require their "therapists" to be liscensed, despite saying they do. Like you might as well be trying to find someone off of Craig's list.
This is an aneicdotal story of personal experience so obviously not everyone is gonna have this, but my dad convinced me to give it a try anyway as we couldn't find anything during lock down and I was doing REALLY bad, and the therapist told me that they don't help people with SHing issues or thinking about "attempting" and told me to just call the SP hotline on myself. (Which I don't know if it's bad where anyone else leaves but if I did that, I would basically be calling my own kidnapping)
