The Streets where the absolute highlight of my weekend. I went off on my own leaving my friends to watch The Cure, ended up enjoying the whole set with a girl I didn't know also on her own. We sang, we danced, we cried then we hugged and went off into the night. Until next time.
Blinded by the lights makes me feel empty, kinda heartbroken, and also like I’m missing out on something. It always did. Not sure any other tune has ever done that
Blinded by the lights was huge tune for me. As a kid from Chicago who visited the UK, this track seemed to resonate with so many experiences of my youth. This became one of my favorite songs when I saw Kidulthood tho! Bigups to The Streets, a true legend.
What an artist. Britain does it best. Huge shout from the US. Loving The Streets and also other various UK based electronic acts like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Goldie, Sqaurepusher, Faithless, Burial, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, Stereo MCs, Orbital, Four Tet, Unkle, Chase and Status, The Bug, Allflaws
He’s right, people forget Original Pirate Material was a major force in helping Grime become more mainstream, without him we might not have seen Kano, Skepta, Giggs etc get into the mainstream, not to mention he also discovered Pro Green and Example. Skinner is a legend
Mate the streets got fully screwed over, John Peele stage was too small for them, half the crowd couldn't fit in the tent and you couldn't hear them outside of the tent, had to leave after two songs
Man, glad they're still playing. Playing big. Bigger, even. Just remember not quite paying attention to them at Reading one year, cos my friends (there) didn't feel any connection to the EDM scene, and it was really rather early in the afternoon still.
About the only thing that makes me proud to be British nowadays is the music, and I don't just mean The Streets. Amazing what we create without people spending their precious time on hatred x
Still lovin The Streets. Blinded by the lights made me have a rush I swear now. That was some mad shit and I've only had a 3.4 Vegan frickin cider. Old age man. If I wasn't a rush, it was a mini stroke. Whoooooo!!!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😳😳😳
He represents my 90s, when by Tuesday you were already thinking about who’s on where on the Friday and the Saturday. I’m gutted mobile phones didn’t exist in those days
I feel like there better in the tents tho atmosphere wise compared to pyramid stage, I know what you mean though hopefully they come back and headline other stage next year fingers crossed
Ryan Turner not when the whole field gets crowded out and half the people can’t see the stage, meanwhile the other stage headliner has hardly anyone there. Bad organisation on this occasion
Blinded by the Lights does an incredible of making you feel like your actually in the nightclub. It’s a bit of a masterpiece.
Yes , that is a master piece file the ages. Different generation same drives. What do we learn?😮

So happy Mike Skinner is back on his grind! whhat a legend
I’m 67 and love this. My mate Tony Wilson pioneered dance music and would have applauded Mike Skinner. Urban poetry at its finest.
Last song before this on my playlist was digital by joy division
RIP Tony Wilson ♥️
@@NealSinclair indeed, he was a top lad.
@@lindsayrogers6690 💯👍
Tony Wilson was a true legend and did sooo much for music and giving big breaks for up and coming band's respect where due rip.
Blinded by the lights is forever a song that makes me feel like coming up stone cold sober.
Blinded by the lights makes me feel empty, kinda heartbroken, and also like I’m missing out on something. It always did. Not sure any other tune has ever done that
Me too! In 2004 it made me feel empty about the night life I was missing out on because I was too young. Now the song makes me miss 2004 and my youth.
That Blinded repeat synth is shivery, every time I hear it, live or recorded same reaction! Banger.
My fav streets song. That tune meant the world when i.was 16 and.on e in a field
Not a truer word said😋
Same. 😬
There was me left at home I only went to 7 parties
@@saturniin3 u up.north or down south? Just wondering what rave scene you had
@@calibunninpoet7329 down south at the time - free parties in fields and warehouses and the odd fabric trip.
Saw them this summer in Belgium @ pukkelpop. Finally. I can die in peace now.

Blinded by the lights best song of all time no question, goosebumps even on youtube
I litterally cryed at the End. What a great moment
When it cuts into Blinded by the Lights, amazing...
Blinded by the Lights and Dry your eyes will never be forgotten

@@leechampion6538 He did. Furthermore grime is fucking shit. JME did it but you should have dropped it after that.

THANKS SO MUCH to the BBC from a dude at his desk in Rochester, NY. These videos are so incredibly enjoyable.
The transition between songs is simply perfection
What a performer. Blinded by the lights is a classic!
Rob Harvey has solid backvocal. nicely done!
He’s class! Doing a great job with Kasabian now too and back with The Music. Class act.
Gave me chills. The days of parkour jackets , and xtc
Goosebumps never lie !
Blind by the Lights such a top track. :-)
I like the way he says: "Ladies and gentlemen".
He's definitely one of us.

If The Streets started today, what with social media etc, they would be fucking HUGE! Absolute talent!
It's almost spiritual, love it.
Still listening to this album in 2024. Still love it as much now as i did back then..
The streets ❤️ some of my favourite tunes thanks for blessing our ears with some true classics x

Someone who loves to perform and entertain. That just makes me want to get on a pinger and it’s been like 8 years
Mike Skinner is a legend, give us another album!
Apparently there’s one on the way.
I can relate to EVERY Streets song ever written ❤️
This and Stay Positive are two of my most loved songs by them.

This was emotional
Shivers, captivating performance
Saw them at T in the Park back in 2011, EMOTIONAL
Me too. They were amazin!!!
Mike skinner you’re great
Their best ever live performance. The atmosphere in the tent was electric. Not the same at one of the main stages.
About the only thing that makes me proud to be British nowadays is the music, and I don't just mean The Streets. Amazing what we create without people spending their precious time on hatred x
Always a pleasure 💚👌
Excellent performance!

Makes you proud to be a brummie! Skinners paved the way genius
Top shelf.
Now next year put them on the pyramid or headlining the other stage, absolute joke putting them on John peel
They deserve an evening slot on the Pyramid, for sure!

I think the John Peel stage is fitting as he was all about new, different, innovative music. Same as Mike
buckbumble yeah but they’re not new and up and coming aren’t they, they’re well established
