    I like that setup with the pipe. Did you cut the pipe shorter? Did you have to weld a piece onto the pipe in order to connect it to the wing?

    • @TexasHill
      @TexasHill  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Bud !
      I had to cut the pipe and add a silicone sleeve to extend it... It was too short. The flexible sleeve helped with the flexing chassis so it didn't strip the mounts out of the head.

      @@TexasHill awesome! Did you weld the mounting tabs onto the pipe? Do you believe that shortening the exhaust tube affect the top end? The pipe looks like the Rovan high performance pipe that come stock with the 5bs. I was thinking of the Dominator clone, but yours looks like it is a better fit. I have been breaking my head searching everywhere for any information, but it’s next to impossible. Your solution looks the best.

      @@Ericdagreat - Thanks Bud ! No, I didn't weld the tabs on the pipe, they were there all ready... and just worked out perfectly for the mounts... Yeah, I think it may be a Dominator clone from Rovan. The pipe was actually lengthened by adding the silicon sleeve by about an inch or two... The performance was awesome ! it didn't seem to adversely affect the performance at all. The gear ratios helped as well, but the ported head helped as well... I guess it was the combo that worked really well together... The gears will help with the tune since the pipe makes power right off the line... The gears will help to load the engine a little bit before it starts ripping the tires apart. Mine made the most power about half way thru the power band with the right gear ratio... That's why it good to have some extra gears to experiment with.

    Good job boss gonna use your tips probably replace the bearings in the idle shaft while im at it. Is that the stock gear setup, should i do 35 25 like u mentioned for speed with a 34cc reed case engine thanks

      Thanks bro! You rock!
      Yes, get the gears for sure!... I'm sure that extremely powerful engine will push the 35/25 gears just fine, and get your car running 45-50+mph! with that engine! Just be gentle with the throttle because the wheels and tires are the weak point.
      The stock XB tires don't hold up well to that kind of power. I'm fixing to upgrade mine to 24mm hex's., so I can run the "Tarmac Buster" tires.
      Here is a link to the 35t gear I bought from Ebay....

      These were the best prices I could find online for the gears. I'm sure you will be extremely happy with the 35/25 gear ratio. it's about 6.25 to 1 ratio. , meaning the engine spins 6.25 times for every time the tires spin once. That awesome 34cc reed case engine will probably make your Rampage hit 50+mph easy!
      After thinking about it a little while, I think you will definetly need to upgrade the wheel hex's to 24mm, with new tires to match, otherwise that powerful engine will destroy your factory wheels and tires very quickly, especially if your not gentle on the throttle. They wear out really fast on road anyway. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Do you have any suggestions for my center diff making noise when rolling forward?

    • @TexasHill
      @TexasHill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may be the bearing. Try spraying some WD-40 on the bearings, and put some grease on the gears. That should help. Check for proper alignment of the gears, any metal shavings, etc. You may just need to take it all apart and clean it up, with new grease and oil for the bearings. Check the bearings are smooth, and not rough, or missing the seals, etc. Hope this helps. lmk. Thanks!

    • @JenniferHenberger

      @@TexasHill Thank you! I was just suspecting the same... because when I put pressure with my finger against the middle gear (double gear, maybe it's called the "idler gear"?), I suddenly could hardly roll the truck forward... and there's ever so slightly a wobble in the middle gear shaft... it seems like a bearing might be bad like you said... I'm in the desert with so much dust... my first RC, the Kraton 6s blew a bearing shortly after moving here... the desert sand just destroyed it... sad 😕... if I was a any kind of a mechanic I would be in heaven with this hobby..
      It's so fun... but I need a mentor! Lol

    • @TexasHill
      @TexasHill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JenniferHenberger Ah, I'm sorry. Yeah, I understand how overwhelming it seems at first, but after you do it once, it's really easy. The sand will definitely destroy the bearings, unless you get the high dollar sealed bearings. If you make a short video, I can help you fix it. Just show me where you think the problem is, and I can show you how to take it apart and put it back together again.

    • @TexasHill
      @TexasHill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a buggy, and it does 40 plus mph., ported head, I advanced the port timing of the intake to 198deg, and the exhaust to 208deg, 18psi metering spring, port matched intake manifold, custom tuned length velosity stack. 35/25 speed gearing. So yeah, i know a liitle something about my buggy, and no, Its not a truck.

    • @TexasHill
      @TexasHill  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot to mention, the intake n exhaust timings were mapped to match the length of the tuned pipe and manifold., which was dictated by software I downloaded telling me the best power cures for the pipe size , length, diameter.
