Before Zack Snyder got involved with the Justice League character, he brought another DC Comics product to life with 2009’s divisive Watchmen. There was a ton of hype surrounding the superhero movie, and in the end, a lot of people were on the fence about it. The movie definitely raises some questions. Like why didn’t Dr. Manhattan cover up? How does Rorschach’s mask even work? What’s up with the copious amount of slow-motion?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Watchmen! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

"Journal" being kind of an Italianization of "di[o]urnal" (like from giorno for day, but with a j, for some reason), and the ending bits also being kind of synonymous form of "adjectivization" the etymological root. What's great about this is, I have a real-life friend who's intelligent and a drama major yet all he could remember of Watchmen after seeing it in the theater was... that big blue. We mocked him incessantly but here he stands now, vindicated. Pitch perfect and very well done.

"I feel like this is not the kind of thing that Leonard Cohen had in mind when he wrote that song"
I don't think he's listened to the lyrics of the song much, and is basically taking it at face value based on the title. Cuz "that kind of thing" is pretty much exactly what multiple parts of that song are about. It's more about finding moments in life that make you feel something profound (like a particularly intense, emotional, or otherwise memorable encounter with a lover), likened to the inspiration and feelings people get from religion at the times when they might exclaim "hallelujah". That's really the only ties to religion the song actually has.

Ryan really is in a league of his own in a sea of comedy film criticism channels. How many popular channels are there? 30? 40? 50? And to be 100% original in such a creative way at 2:50.
It’s just awesome and original writing.
