Hey, fiber friends! I’m back with another podcast episode for you today… it’s a long one, so please enjoy while you’re creating something beautiful! 💕 Let us know down below your favorite type of project to bring with on vacation! 🌴
Hi, I love your episodes. Our coloring and style are similar. Frogging is tough, but the yarn will be reborn into something new. Love your quilt- I am a hand binder too! I, too, had no idea I was doing i-cord with my current project- easy! I love cables and was also intimidated. I did not have a "cable holder" and used a pencil! If your "Skittles" sweater is too warm for Mexico, get the green slipover done and bring that - it would be a tad cooler and you can layer with it. Really enjoying your videos.
I definitely knit in public but at first I was a bit self conscious. I’ve had lots of fun and random conversations with strangers because of it. Love the speckles in your Musselburgh.
I cannot believe you are a beginner knitter. You're really good. The Musselburgh hat it so on my agenda. I've seen so many people knit it and it seems like it would be the perfect fit for my head and the fact that it only takes one skein of yarn makes it very affordable. Oh and I just ordered some more ChiaoGoo needles tonight. They are really the only kind that I find truly satisfying to knit with.
Thank you so so much! I really love my musselburgh and highly recommend you trying it out, she recently did some updates to the pattern as well, so I think it is better than ever. ChiaoGoos forever!!!
A Musselburgh Hat would be perfect for beach knitting. Your Bonfire Sparks quilt looks amazing! I worked on the sleeve of a knit sweater while watching. I am a knitting and crochet content creator as well.🧶
Hey JacqandKit, I am liking your vlog so much. Very fresh and lively and I liked your sewing update. I'm a sewing beast as well as knitter so I like both! As for my must have TH-cams I don't miss here they are: For the Fun of Knit, The Knitty Stew, The Knitting Posse, Crazy Sock Lady, Grocery Girls, Wool and Wine, Queen's Yarn Boutique, Young Folk Knits, Finnish Knitting Stories, Knitty Natty, A Friend to Knit With, Knit California & Tangerine Knits. This is the first time I have put this list together. I find by looking at my choices that I'm attracted to humor, animated friendly delivery style, honesty, some humbleness, knitting excellence, and kind regards for those less fortunate than others. Not necessarily in that order! I sporadically watch some others and mainly because the vlogcasters don't put their episodes up regularly. It is quite a diverse world out there in TH-cam land but I have managed to narrow the field down to what really interests me and more importantly- inspires me to new knitting heights!!!!!! Knitting hugs, Carrie from Northern San Francisco Bay Area 😘❤🐶🐑🌷☕☔🧵🪡🧶
Hi Carrie, I so appreciate your comment and so happy you are enjoying! I have checked out all of your recs and I'm so happy you shared them!!! :) I hope you are having some fun creating this week!
The Musselburgh hat seems to be a big thing, right now. Looking forward to buying the pattern, using up some of my fingering weight yarn, and getting that “therapeutic” knitting in! For me, the yarn has to be a fine merino, silk, cotton, or acrylic, or I can’t knit without having my skin start to split. Gotta be the roughness of the wool. I think I’m allergic to regular wool, yet can wear merino. If, for you, it is the type of stitch that hurts your hands, that’s something for which I have no answer. Could be the way you hold the needles for that kind of knitting. No suggestions for changing that! Since I’m mainly a knitter, when I “unknit” a thing, I “tink” it (knit spelled backwards). When I “uncrochet” a piece, I “frog” it (rip it). A little “language” difference and not a big thing. You do YOU!
I’ve knitted many times on the beach! I usually am making fairly simple sweaters. I leave the complicated projects at home. I hope you enjoy your vacation 💗
RIP to the pressed flowers, but it’s a good decision to stop! Random idea, but if you stop and put some ribbing on the other side, would it work as an infinity cowl? Just being wild over here 😂 also I can’t believe you made a whole musselburgh in a week! I just finished my first after 4 months 🫣 (I also have a bajillion WIPs though, so makes sense 😏)
That's exactly what I was thinking! All that work, and all that perfect tension, should not go to waste! That being said, I wholeheartedly support the decision to dump a project that isn't bringing you joy! It's worse than that adorable pair of boots that you are so excited about, only to discover that they kill your feet. It doesn't matter how perfectly they work in your wardrobe - pain & bliss are mutually exclusive.

Love that you are a hand binder as well and that we have similar style :)

Me too, now I always bring it out in public :)

I am a KU graduate and live in Kansas City. Small world! I have a kiddo that is starting nursing school at KU in the fall. Love your projects.
I love that! Rock chalk :)
Yes, for me it’s not the finished object. It’s just the knitting that makes me happy. 😊
Agreed :)

I’m almost half done one in a yarn I bought several years ago. I decided that it’s lovely enough for this striking hat!
I’ve knitted many times on the beach! I usually am making fairly simple sweaters. I leave the complicated projects at home. I hope you enjoy your vacation 💗
I ended up bringing another musselburgh! It worked out great :)

OMG wish I saw this before frogging hahahaha

You are so fun to watch!
I am getting a little better at being myself in front of a camera!
I love watching your podcast! We also have a podcast if you want to come on over and watch. :-)
SO FUN I just subbed :)
