I am an Australian Indian. I met a prison gaurd. He said, he has seen every nationality in the prison as prisoners, but not a single Indian as prisoner. However he has seen many Indians work as prison guard themselves.
Because the Indian felons are busy in politics, no time to get a passport or visa.. lol😂 But honestly, only the hardworking and determined Indians go abroad for work and work only. We aren't refugees trying to scrape a living abroad. That said, India has lot of bad guys, running local goons, political parties, real estate mafias and what not, they are spread across the country not a single state to blame. It's not all rosy friendly Indian people like you might see in US, Australia, UK, Europe, people here have gone bad due to misguided thoughts and actions.

We normally worship our ancestors and since Indians are normally dark skinned, the gods and goddesses are dark skinned too, like Krishna is dark skinned and so is Ram. However, goddesses Rukmini and Seeta were fair skinned. I feel like we have more black gods than white ones and more goddesses than gods and this makes India more unique.

I am an African and I visited Mumbai many years ago. It remains the best experience I’ve had in my life. Indians, much like Africans are very warm, welcoming and have strong family values. My only wish is to visit India and discover more about the culture. In my country, Indians are very bit how you describe them to be. Honest, hard working, simple, mingle with locals and speak, eat and melt with the environment. Not like the other foreigners. I will go out of my way to buy from them. I love the Indian music and as a Zumba instructor, I always include Bollywood songs as a wink to them. Amazing people indeed. I’ve had many Indian friends. We still remain friends since many many years. 👍🏽
Indians Specially Hindus Community, Firstly they accept , respect the culture of that country and blend in , 2nd they go on to become doctors or engineers or will be businessman hence will generate employment and help to grow the country they go to and not become burden. 3rd, they will not ask for any special law or treatment for themselves on basis of religion or nationality or any other reason they will accept the law of land. Yes. Sincerely speaking Indians(over 98%) are extremely honest. Those who tell lies are really very rare. This is my observation as a foreigner in India.

Dear above all these points is the "Family system" at top. Whatever we do in life, we do it for for family. In our every decision, we consult our family members. Men especially, are controlled by their family. That's why we do not get involved in crimes. Because doing such a thing will only bring suffering and shame to all our family members. The super strong family system in India bind us together even in difficult times. Second most important reason is the Indian culture/religion. In my case, my parents paid the tuition for my masters abroad. They contribute heavily for their Children's wedding. They help with the downpayment when their children buy property. In return, it's expected of the children to look after their parents in their old age even if the parents are financially well off. Children support their parents both financially and emotionally in their old age. Old age homes are extremely looked down upon in India too. If you are not financially well off, Indian family will support you. If you need a shoulder to cry on, the family will be there for you. If you are in search of a job, the family will help you with the networking, if you are in search of a partner to marry, the family will get themselves involved in finding a suitor for you. Indian family can be overwhelming at times as they scrutinise major aspects of your life. But, they are a solid pillar which you can rely on.

Since Indians don't normally have a lot of experience in dating, family of both the bride and groom play a pivotal role during and after the initial stages of marriage. They will play the mediator role if and when any quarrel arises between the newly weds. They essentially play the role of the support system and provide counselling. In India, marriages don't happen between 2 individuals, but between 2 families. The stakes are higher. That's why most Indian marriages last.

I think it is because we go through so much hardships, corruption, politics, diversity, VUCA environment, a hardwired education system, hyper competitive environment right from teenage, usually tri or quadri lingual. Amazing adaptation skill over childhood. What is thrown at us from childhood is unimaginable by many westerners. We learnt not only to survive but also to come out shining.

It is because of these daily religious practices, motivated by their reverence for Lord Krishna, that the Hindus have evolved spiritually to a higher level of consciousness (God consciousness). It's for this reason also that, having gone through all the evils, untold humiliation & suffering during 700 hundred years of Mughal & British rule that most Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists & Jains are intuitively aware of the sense of what's right & what's wrong . It is this key qualification ie God Consciousness , cultivated during centuries of suffering & humiliation, that , now makes India ready to assume global leadership to solve above global problems. As our Bhavishya Purana predicted, It has always been Supreme Lord's plan to empower India , at some stage during the Kali Yuga, to take the lead and carve a global footprint via Sanatan Dharma, to restore global peace, happiness, justice & unity. Having said that, it is pertinent to say that ,all Hindus in India & abroad, must read , fully understand & reflect upon the BHAGAVAD GITA on a DAILY basis. A focused , daily disciplined reading of the GITA for atleast One hour, will bring a realisation that solutions to all the problems of global humanity are in this Gita, which should be read with full faith in God and in a spirit of humility & reverence. Anyone who reads the Gita, even with partial faith in God ( Krishna, Rama or any other demigod) will find himself/ herself empowered by Krishna and feel transcendentally situated to solve problems of his or her life. I would suggest that the only authentic version of the Gita is " The Bhagavad Gita As It Is " published by ISKCON ( ie the global HARE KRISHNA Movement ) whose leader, the Acharya, Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, established this Movement worldwide. Prabhupada was a topmost Sanskrit scholar & a Goswamy in a "parampara" ( disciplic) succession going back to Lord Chaitanya ( who is Krishna Himself incarnated as His devotee in West Bengal, 1500 AD.) Swami Prabhupada wrote the translations from Sanskrit of the 700 verses of The Bhagavad Gita As It Is AND also wrote detailed Purport explaining each verse.. .these Purports have a strong transcendental potency explaining 1) who Krishna is 2) how to develop loving devotional relationship with Him, 3) the real purpose of life, 4) the three modes of material nature ( modes of goodness, passion & ignorance) & how to transcend ( rise above) them 4) Time 5) Karma 5) Jiva ( individual soul ) 6) Ishwara ( Bhagavan, the Supersoul, ie the ultimate cause of all causes ). This GITA was spoken by the Supreme Lord Krishna Himself to his righteous devotee, Arjuna, during the epic Mahabharat war 5000 yrs ago in the Kurukshetra battlefield ( North of present day Delhi). It ends with its final verse ( Ch. 18 verse 78 ) as follows : " Wherever there is Krishna, the Master of all Mystics, & wherever there is Arjuna, the Supreme archer, there will also certainly be OPULENCE, VICTORY, EXTRAORDINARY POWER & MORALITY . That is my opinion. " I would urge all Hindus to carefully read & UNDERSTAND the above ISKCON version of the Bhagavad Gita. Please chant the Hare Krishna mantra daily & if possible, visit a Hare Krishna temple nearby regularly, if poss, for the deities darshan & for association with Krishna's devotees. All or any one of these processes are devotional services (in Bhakti Yoga tradition ) to Lord Krishna, and , as such, they are on a spiritual platform and, therefore, gradually the participants of this process will be Krishna ( God ) Conscious in their day to day life and they will be guided, protected & empowered by Krishna to live a righteous life, whilst engaged in their day to day jobs, business, professions, etc. .... Also, any one of this devotional service will raise their intelligence , self esteem & confidence to a high level, remove fear & negativity , develop humility & respect others , enhance positivity , harmony, courage, happiness in their relationships etc. Such is the immense potency of the Bhagavad Gita & the chanting of Hare Krishna mantra etc . If there is one scripture that is GUARANTEED to TRANSFORM & spiritually empower India to take charge of SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP of GLOBAL HUMANITY , it is this Bhagavad Gita As It Is ( Iskcon edition). But to be a good Hindu, you need a library. What’s happening now is that one deity, which is a mythological figure, might I add, is being portrayed as Benchmark for Hinduism. One who studied Sanskrut properly understands the fact that there are fundamentally two categories of Deities. Sagun (सगुण) and Nirgun ((निर्गुण). Sagun deities are simplistic and can be boxed into black and white template. Such as Sur vs Asur. Nirgun deities, in the other hand, are far more complex. Vithoba of Pandharpur for example. Basically it boils down to our ancient political ideologies - Purogami and Pratigami. Which are far more complex and deep than simple left vs right. We normally worship our ancestors and since Indians are normally dark skinned, the gods and goddesses are dark skinned too, like Krishna is dark skinned and so is Ram. However, goddesses Rukmini and Seeta were fair skinned. I feel like we have more black gods than white ones and more goddesses than gods and this makes India more unique.

Super positive people attract positive things. I adore the indian culture and its people .. i find it very easy to work with and connect with them :)
Whatever Indians go, they carry their traditions, values and their families in their hearts. Also, they assimilate with the local culture, taking the best of both worlds into their lives. Add to that education, hard work and a fierce will to succeed, and it's a winning combination.

The proverb you have mentioned is same in all Indian language vernacular, like JAISA DESH WAISA BHESH in hindi and punjabi or JEMNEI DESH TEMNEI BHESH in bengali and badhiya and some regional dialects of bihar.......which literally translates to : DRESS UP AS THE COUNTRY IS, which means as you land to a new country, you should dress up just like the locals in that country.
So yes, this proverb basically encourages one to 'blend in' and assimilate. It encourages you to take up the local culture of a new land as soon as you reach there, so that you embrace diversity in a more positive light

I am an African and I visited Mumbai many years ago. It remains the best experience I’ve had in my life. Indians, much like Africans are very warm, welcoming and have strong family values. My only wish is to visit India and discover more about the culture.
In my country, Indians are very bit how you describe them to be. Honest, hard working, simple, mingle with locals and speak, eat and melt with the environment. Not like the other foreigners.

Dear above all these points is the "Family system" at top. Whatever we do in life, we do it for for family. In our every decision, we consult our family members. Men especially, are controlled by their family. That's why we do not get involved in crimes. Because doing such a thing will only bring suffering and shame to all our family members. The super strong family system in India bind us together even in difficult times.
Second most important reason is the Indian culture/religion. Hindu religion allows majority of Indians to be very liberal and rational in our approach towards life. It's a long topic though. I ll restrain from it.

In my case, my parents paid the tuition for my masters abroad. They contribute heavily for their Children's wedding. They help with the downpayment when their children buy property.
In return, it's expected of the children to look after their parents in their old age even if the parents are financially well off. Children support their parents both financially and emotionally in their old age. Old age homes are extremely looked down upon in India too.
If you are not financially well off, Indian family will support you. If you need a shoulder to cry on, the family will be there for you. If you are in search of a job, the family will help you with the networking, if you are in search of a partner to marry, the family will get themselves involved in finding a suitor for you.
Indian family can be overwhelming at times as they scrutinise major aspects of your life. But, they are a solid pillar which you can rely on.

I agree that arranged marriages can be a gamble. In Indian society, dating is not very prevalent. It takes off the pressure for the guys/girls to find a partner on their own. Indian parents will present you with a list of suitors along with the suitors' comprehensive information (age, height, weight, education, salary, family details so on). You can pick and choose.
Since Indians don't normally have a lot of experience in dating, family of both the bride and groom play a pivotal role during and after the initial stages of marriage. They will play the mediator role if and when any quarrel arises between the newly weds. They essentially play the role of the support system and provide counselling. In India, marriages don't happen between 2 individuals, but between 2 families. The stakes are higher. That's why most Indian marriages last.

Supreme Lord Sri Krishna has a plan for India, especially for its Hindu majority. All the hardships & multitude of obstacles & tough challenges placed by God were & are intended to make Indians, especially Hindus, resilient, patient , tolerant , forgiving, caring loving & selfless towards humanity etc. .....
In this Age of Kali Yuga ( age of quarrel) there are religious, racial, territorial conflicts , excessive consumerism, exploitation of the poor & disadvantaged, mass slaughter & suffering inflicted on innocent animals for the single aim of fulfilling the desires of meat- eaters , mindless exploitation of God-given natural resources etc.
There is no global unity or answers to solve above problems, bcoz the world has forgotten God in its chase for
so called " progress and prosperity "
As a reminder of who is in charge of this world, God has therefore hurled His final warning to humanity, via His Law of Karma, in the shape of Climate change & coronavirus
Pandemic.......
No country any where has answers to these problems, except India whose
VEDIC (Hindu) Sanatan Dharma's vast repository of scriptures has answers to all the above problems.
The West, Russia, China, Europe & the developed regions of Asia have abandoned or forgotten God in their quest for wealth-. creation, selfish consumerism , greed & pursuit of power etc.
India is the only SPIRITUAL SUPERPOWER where there is genuine love & devotion to God and its Vedic religion & culture are practiced daily as a way of life. It is because of these daily religious practices, motivated by their reverence for Lord Krishna, that the Hindus have evolved spiritually to a higher level of consciousness (God consciousness).
It's for this reason also that, having gone through all the evils, untold humiliation & suffering during 700 hundred years of Mughal & British rule that most Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists & Jains are intuitively aware of the sense of what's right & what's wrong .
It is this key qualification ie God Consciousness , cultivated during centuries of suffering & humiliation, that , now makes India ready to assume global leadership to solve above global problems. As our Bhavishya Purana predicted, It has always been Supreme Lord's plan to empower India , at some stage during the Kali Yuga, to take the lead and carve a global footprint via Sanatan Dharma, to restore global peace, happiness, justice & unity.
God knows & all God Conscious people on this planet know that , in this Age of Kali Yuga, global problems arising from rampant materialism, greed, etc cannot be solved by leaders of the world who are part of the problem, because, they are ignorant of scriptures, and therefore, their solutions, based on constantly changing & evolving science & technology can , at best, be temporary. These global leaders are like the blind leading the blind.
Having said that, it is pertinent to say that ,all Hindus in India & abroad, must read , fully understand & reflect upon the BHAGAVAD GITA on a DAILY basis. A focused , daily disciplined reading of the GITA for atleast
One hour, will bring a realisation that solutions to all the problems of global humanity are in this Gita, which should be read with full faith in God and in a spirit of humility & reverence.
Anyone who reads the Gita, even with partial faith in God ( Krishna, Rama or any other demigod) will find himself/ herself empowered by Krishna and feel transcendentally situated to solve problems of his or her life.
I would suggest that the only authentic version of the Gita is " The Bhagavad Gita As It Is " published by ISKCON
( ie the global HARE KRISHNA Movement ) whose leader, the Acharya, Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, established this Movement worldwide. Prabhupada was a topmost Sanskrit scholar & a Goswamy in a "parampara"
( disciplic) succession going back to Lord Chaitanya ( who is Krishna Himself incarnated as His devotee in West Bengal, 1500 AD.)
Swami Prabhupada wrote the translations from Sanskrit of the 700 verses of The Bhagavad Gita As It Is AND also wrote detailed Purport explaining each verse.. .these Purports have a strong transcendental potency explaining 1) who Krishna is 2) how to develop loving devotional relationship with Him, 3) the real purpose of life, 4) the three modes of material nature ( modes of goodness, passion & ignorance) & how to transcend ( rise above) them 4) Time 5) Karma 5) Jiva ( individual soul ) 6) Ishwara ( Bhagavan, the Supersoul, ie the ultimate cause of all causes ).
This GITA was spoken by the Supreme Lord Krishna Himself to his righteous devotee, Arjuna, during the epic Mahabharat war 5000 yrs ago in the Kurukshetra battlefield ( North of present day Delhi). It ends with its final verse ( Ch. 18 verse 78 ) as follows :
" Wherever there is Krishna, the Master of all Mystics, & wherever there is Arjuna, the Supreme archer, there will also certainly be OPULENCE,
VICTORY, EXTRAORDINARY POWER & MORALITY . That is my opinion. "
I would urge all Hindus to carefully read & UNDERSTAND the above ISKCON version of the Bhagavad Gita. Please chant
the Hare Krishna mantra daily & if possible, visit a Hare Krishna temple nearby regularly, if poss, for the deities darshan & for association with Krishna's devotees.
All or any one of these processes are devotional services (in Bhakti Yoga tradition ) to Lord Krishna, and , as such, they are on a spiritual platform and, therefore, gradually the participants of this process will be Krishna ( God ) Conscious in their day to day life and they will be guided, protected & empowered by Krishna to live a righteous life, whilst engaged in their day to day jobs, business, professions, etc. ....
Also, any one of this devotional service will raise their intelligence , self esteem & confidence to a high level, remove fear & negativity , develop humility & respect others , enhance positivity , harmony, courage, happiness in their relationships etc. Such is the immense potency of the Bhagavad Gita & the chanting of Hare Krishna mantra etc .
If there is one scripture that is GUARANTEED to TRANSFORM & spiritually empower India to take charge of SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP of GLOBAL HUMANITY , it is this Bhagavad Gita As It Is ( Iskcon edition).
I have lived in England for many years. The coronavirus pandemic is Krishna's creation : as Krishna's Gita says, everything happens according to His will.. His Law of Karma has now caught up via this pandemic & it shows where the REAL power lies and, most importantly, WHO RULES THIS WORLD......
We , the mortal beings ,are Krishna's eternal SERVANTS.That is our constitutional position, as the Gita says. So, we must all learn to serve Krishna with humility & humbeness, for that's the attitude a servant must adopt towards His master to please Him.
Krishna is the Creator & proprietor of everything in this world. He doesn't need or want anything from us. All He wants is to show our love to Him, however imperfectly .....
for eg. by daily reading of the Gita, or Chanting mantra ( this is glorification of Krishna) or serving His devotees & associating with them or eating Prasadam ( sanctified food offered first to Krishna )
All or any of these services are devotional service to Him. In this way, a loving, Krishna conscious relationship will be established over time.

It is interesting, Africans generally speak better English than the English. Something in their expression and enunciation is absolutely beautiful, it seems to come straight from the heart. Don't lose that.
They are super humble. They live ridiculously frugal. They work pretty hard and they are really nice.
Indian love diversity, acceptance heard working, honest , etc..
We are very free people.
Family responsibllity also one of the main reason..

Cyber Regiment Modern day Hindus don't have even a trace of Vedic culture. Ask him to recite Vedic mantras or ask him what was Vedic life style. That culture was war like, hated any kind of labor. Degraded any pursuit where working with hand concerned. Those artisan and farming communities were at bottom. Anyway modern Hindus follow Puranas based Hinduism and had gone through foreign conquest, colonization by west. That was the history section f last 1300 years. If they had no western education they will be chanting mantras and tending cows destroying agriculture!

To be a good Muslim, all you need is Qur’an.
But to be a good Hindu, you need a library.
What’s happening now is that one deity, which is a mythological figure, might I add, is being portrayed as Benchmark for Hinduism.
One who studied Sanskrut properly understands the fact that there are fundamentally two categories of Deities. Sagun (सगुण) and Nirgun ((निर्गुण).
Sagun deities are simplistic and can be boxed into black and white template. Such as Sur vs Asur.
Nirgun deities, in the other hand, are far more complex. Vithoba of Pandharpur for example.
Basically it boils down to our ancient political ideologies - Purogami and Pratigami. Which are far more complex and deep than simple left vs right.
I totally believe Hinduism in danger and being attacked. Not from people of other religions but from the people who proudly call themselves Hindus but don’t even have an iota of understanding of Hinduism.

Tamil is almost oldest in the world. South side is not your vedic language tamilnadu is not depend hindi(sansrit). Tamil is a separate language and keezhadi prove it. Dont compare tamil language in other language. If world archalogist search it many of the results will get it.
