    Stupid question but, the slow strings in the background, do they play automatically or is it a voice selection that enables that?

    Hi! Good day!
    I was about to purchase Roland FP 10 but when I am about to connect it to my macbook, it doesn't recognize the FP 10 as a midi controller/instrument for my Digital Audio Workstation (Garageband). It is supposed to automatically recognize the instrument like any other midi keyboards unless Roland FP 10 does not support Midi functions for DAW?
    Can anyone help? Thank you so much!

    what are the differences between this one and the fp 30 when it comes only to the piano sound and touch ? I would use it mainly for classical music

    • @pgpefg
      @pgpefg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been reading reviews, planning to buy too. Some differences are numbers of polyphony, built-in sounds, dimensions. I will have to try them in real life before the decision.

      From what I can tell, while they both have a 1/4" plug for a sustain pedal, the FP-30 has the ability to use a 3 foot pedal unit.

    • @yichenxue5865

      they all use PHA-4 STANDARD so i think it would be the same

    • @Slashik90
      @Slashik90 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      in caparison of couple acoustic pianos, includes grand piano - it feels like keys are little tough to press, but whole key action is nice and responsive. I think it just a question of habit and adaptation to use Roland key action.

    • @vccranker
      @vccranker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Slashik90 Yes, and I have heard that these hammer action keyboards more closely resemble the acoustic uprights, since the grands tend to be a little lighter to the touch.

      I'got an FP-10, it was super great, I was totally happy with it, but it just broke after 4 month. Support is fixing it for a month already. I hate Roland user support - its completely useless.

      edit:
      it just stops working on the middle of play session. Of course it used properly, im not smashing keys or something like that. My piano teacher just tried to show me some easy piece - and piano just decide to not produce any sound. I already disappointed of purchasing Roland

      I'm not a specialist, but fp-10 imho. It has 3 sensors while Yamaha has 2. So with Roland you can play pianissimo for example. Btw sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker

      Roland for the win. Better sound, better key action mechanism.

      FP-10 Is way better in my personal opinion playing both of them in guitar center. It’s just so much smoother and delivers a richer, more genuine acoustic piano sound and feel.

  • @Pe6ek

    I bought it, loved the sound. Still do. But. Don't ever ever EVER get a Roland with the PHA-4 action. It's the noisiest slowest clunkiest action on this planet. I even got Roland admitting it was defective, but they couldn't repair it. Don't let the sound of the sample fool you. Terrible keys will obliterate your joy of that in a few seconds. After 5 FP10s I gave up. If this - or any other TH-cam video was recording the room, you would hear constant super noisy clicking from misaligned mechanical parts of the action.

  • @Pe6ek

    Nice sound, but the stretched tuning is unfortunate.

    • @lew708
      @lew708 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pe6ek If I’m not mistaken, I think that Roland has an app that you can connect to by Bluetooth and adjust that...along with a few more sounds that are not built into the board.
