I was a big hater of plastic washers, but then I bought a JG Scout, and I am a believer. Teflon washers are SO much more smooth than PB. I see no negatives when they’re done properly.

I love my all ti ad15. If I could only keep one of my knives, that would be the one. Super strong and super smooth.
And about the washers, the phoshper bronze washers are the main washers, they are beefy. The teflon washers are very thin, but add to that total smoothness you are feeling. Also, the spring in the rear end is a normal, but beefy, coil spring, that can be trimmed in small increments to "loosen" the action up a hair. Doing so takes a bit of tension out, making this beast even more fidgety.

I had listened to a podcast with Andrew Demko where he explained why he prefers nylon washers. If I remember he stated that because of their composition that grit is less likely to effect the action, and that they were self lubricating. My impression was that he was pretty adamant about his preference.

Probably the same reason hinderer preferred them

I just swapped out my ad-15 washers for slightly larger outer diameter phosphor bronze. The action is phenomenal and the deployment sound changed dramatically, the teflon was damping some of the sound. Much more metallic yet slick, something between a full size adamas and a 0562. Along with 2000 grit on the scales and a deep carry this design has really impressed me. The original is gorgeous. It'd be neat if someone offered a Ti scorpion lock for CS AD-15s

I have the full Ti one in stone wash finish, and it's my favorite knife of all time. Robust, smooth, and joy to play with. Perfect.

Love this knife, just got the demko ad15 a couple weeks ago and have carried it every day since. It actually carries pretty good for how big it is, takes up just as much space as a shaman just heavier

When I got my Quietcarry Waypoint, I also ordered a set of replacement screws and a pair of phosphor bronze washers. I don’t have a spare pivot screw, hopefully I won’t lose it.

Damm I wish I could get one of these or the AD 20. Sold out everywhere so I got the cold steel version. It's pretty sweet but I think the Demko customs look way better and operate way smoother. Now the cold steel AD 10 I also have and am perfectly happy with. It's my favorite knife I own and don't feel the need to get the Demko version. Anyways I really enjoyed your video and the others you've done. Just subscribed.

I only have the production version. But I got the new black one and at GP Knives they have the newest one for $169 not bad compared to other dealers that are $200 +
    Great video 👊👍✌️

Great vid. I can easily respect the full ti version. But I just saw a blue G10 version with a darkened dlc blade and damn if thay didn't look just as sexier.

I think this is the first one of these I’ve seen in all Ti and if youre not trying to track one down to keep, what are you doing??

These guys look awesome. A little to pricy for me I'll probably end up grabbing the black out Cold Steel version. The green/grey kept me away from the original.

This actually runs on a phosphor bronze and Teflon washer on both sides like on cold steel knives.

No this is the older s35vn model where they only used teflon washers. They switched to brass and teflon in 2019 I think.

Nothing like an axis lock. No cheap ass spring to bust

    • @metal_complex
      @metal_complex  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Axis bar* not the lock. The bar is what locks it. Obviously, this is not the same thing as the axis lock.
