That white guitar he played during this song was named Charlie after Charlie Wirz who Stevie wrote the song for. Charlie died of a sudden heart attack and was a guitar dealer that fixed Stevie’s guitars and became a great friend.
Before , this concert, the sweat was cocaine, Crown Royal, and passion.
From this concert on till his death , it was all passion. Final album with Double Trouble, was titled " In Step' a nod to the 12 steps..RIP Stevie.
The greatest no one is even close
Thank you for doing this version, The Nashville concert was a part of the Jerry Lewis Telefon, for Muscular Dystrophy, a 24 7 Labor Day Marathon of music comedians etc. This is one of the first concerts SRV did after cleaning up...thanks man .
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
*_And then some ..._*
When you can sing beautifully, play amazing, have that stage presence and your a good person, that's a gift only from God
Stevie is the BEST
TRUTH
God Bless Him
Great musician and artist...even better human being...
Great reaction. There are several versions by Stevie and in his usual manner, each is different. This one is one of the “cleanest”, very pure and straight forward.
My personal favorite is the performance at the Capitol Theater in Passaic , NJ. It’s more energetic and passionate. ( He loses a tooth on stage for instance!) In it, as usual, there is a monologue; different but still profound. Suggest you give it a viewing. You’ll enjoy it.
Zooty your right, I'm from Nashville and the music scene is so much more diverse than most give it credit for. I saw this show at Starwood Amphitheatre with Joe Cocker! I'm way blessed!!🙏🐶😎🇺🇸P.S. - this is the "clean" version of Stevie just months before the crash 😢
Zooty, your reactions, and insightful comments, are always good to hear. Stevie Ray was an unbelievable musician and it was a shame that he had to leave that soon. However, lucky what he left behind is epic and maybe why so many are rediscovering his music. There is a saying, “Gone but never forgotten.” Thanks again.
My first time hearing this. What a beautiful message when he spoke. Loved it. We're sub # 232.
SRV RIP GAT DAYUUM that boy playing!
I was there that fatal night when Stevie's copter went into the side of a ski slope in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Still is one of the foggiest nights I've known in all my 60 years.
The last song Stevie ever played on stage was Sweet Home Chicago, accompanied by Robert Cray, Jimmy Vaughn & Eric Clapton. It didn't suck
Nice reaction, Pops…I was lucky enough to see him 3 times….I don’t have the words to describe it…
Ahh, damn, I called you Pops…I’m 69 years old myself 😂 I forget that sometimes.
Perfect reaction, brother
No kids here.
RIP SRV and Starwood Amphitheater
Great. Thanks.
For my texas brutha what a beautiful soul!
Happy New Year and a peaceful, fulfilling one to you. Thank you for all of your reaction videos throughout the past year.
Stebe's version of this can not be topped...thanks for the attention and always your great content, my friend!
The GOAT OF GOATS! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 He’s better the Jimmy🤷🏻♂️ It wasn’t the lights…it was the drug! Do research into it!
Very much enjoyed your comments. Please do yourself the great favor of watching this song by SRV live at the Capital Theatre. Never seen anything remotely like it. Nothing - absolutely nothing - comes close.
Yes, I like that version better even though this one was still epic!
SRV was the best.
great reaction...try Teena Maree serenades Smokey Robinson..great performance
Happy New Year's to you
The version at the capital theater is better. This was great.
