    This was recorded at Austin City Limits TV studio and was his second appearance there. ACL is the longest running PBS show ever and still going strong. Reese Wynans on the keyboards joined Double Trouble in August of 1985 and brought his immense talent to the already massively talented group. This whole concert was 🔥💯. For more keyboarding from Reese check out Mary Had a Little Lamb from this same concert🎶🎸

      I was not aware ACL was on PBS. I figured it was just a place. I have heard they played that song and it is now on the list. I am quite curious about it

      @@AceofBadeReacts yes Mary Had A Little Lamb is a funky rendition first rearranged by the great Buddy Guy who was one of Stevie's good friends and guitar mentors. It is a blast to hear/watch🎸🎶💯. My all time favorite song is a Stevie original called Riveria Paradise created after his own rehab and recovery. He dedicates it to all those still suffering in any way. It is simply exquisite and impeccable🎶💯. The piano solo from Reece is next level on this one too.🎹🎹🎹. And that beat up guitar he is playing is his favorite one and is referred to as #1. Stevie also referred to it as his first wife. When asked why he said because she screams for me not at me😘‼️. You can't go wrong sticking with this whole concert~

    If you haven't seen his performance of "Texas Flood" live at the Mocambo, you should! My personal favorite song is "Pride and Joy". I lived in Austin in the 80's & 90's; the crying, mourning and dark disbelief throughout the city following his death lasted for weeks. He and four others were killed in a helicopter which was taking them to the airport after the Alpine Valley show. Conditions were foggy and it is believed the pilot miscalculated the elevation, causing the hillside crash.

      I can imagine the impact that was left. I wonder where SRV would be today. I did react to Texas Flood, but I can't remember when the reaction is scheduled to drop.

      Double Trouble, Stevie’s band, started out with Chris “Whipper” Layton on drums, and Tommy Shannon on bass. For the making of their third album, Stevie added Reece Wynans on keyboards. Great move! Keep doing Stevie, he’s very popular again, thanks to the reaction channels. Check out “Voodoo Child” from this same concert, Austin 1989. Thanks!

    My favorite SRV song is “Tightrope”, followed closely by “Life by the Drop”, followed closely by every other song he played. Reece is in my opinion the best blues keyboard player ever so it was fitting that he played with Stevie who was the goat.
    He plays with Joe Bonamassa who I believe is the current best blues guitarist.

    • @AceofBadeReacts
      @AceofBadeReacts  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ooh I'll add those to the list. I've heard of tightrope, but not the other one. Joe sounds familiar, but I don't think I've heard anything by him.
      A little spoiler for a future video, but there's a 3rd John Mayer song I reacted to with patweston where I could have sworn he was SRV reincarnated

    Not a plane a helicopter crash😢. He called the ugly guitar his 1st wife and it was ugly when he traded for it. "Tin Pan Alley" SRV and Johnny Copeland is so cold blooded. They actually did 3 songs together @ that concert and all 3 are lit 🔥🔥
