Agreed! Just remember that the Taters where a disgruntled radio call in show fan away from have a complete meltdown at the end of this last season. Dabo hates NIL and transfer portal rules nowadays and has not done really well with it as it continues to become part of the reality of college football.

Rutgers wins 10+ games and makes the 12 team playoff.
14th in returning production and missing 5 of the top 6 odds on favorite to win the B10 (meaning no East gauntlet) shows great potential and even an easier access to the playoff. Their record is sure to improve significantly this year and I will be watching closely.

When I watched that prediction on whether any new members would be conference champs, and Josh Pate was giving his boldness number. I was thinking he misunderstood the prediction lol. We are human, so things like that happen.
Bold prediction, Utah goes 13-0 in the regular season and takes either the 2 or 3 seed in the playoffs
The question of a 9-3 ACC team making the playoff was answered last year when FSU went undefeated and got left out. It’s not happening unless they win the ACC and get the auto bid.

Alabama will definitely make the newly expanded CFP, where they'll be one of about 10 teams with the raw talent to win it all. Then it's just a matter of getting through it. You either have to win three coin-flip games or four, depending on your seeding, so no one team will have more than about a 10% chance of winning it. It wouldn't shock me if the next 10 years saw 8 or 9 different champions.

With that Clemson thing, No ACC team is even sniffing the playoff at 9-3. Theyre gonna cram as many SEC teams in there as possible and every big brand from the B10. Then they gotta put the ACC champ, B12 champ, and best G5 in + if ND is 9-3 they’re getting in for sure. ACC schools better be 11-2 at the worst if they plan on reaching the 12 team field. Same goes for B12
B12 is gonna struggle to get anyone besides the champ in. I doubt they have two teams in. Same goes for the ACC unless it’s Clemson and FSU and neither has more than one loss.

Like if FSU and Miami play again in the ACC Champ and after both are 11-2 or better I thinkkk both would get in. Gamecock fan here! Not with Boy Wonder at the head coaching helm. I am a believer we can draw in the talent and Beamer has shown the ability to spot really good hidden talent out of the lower divisions of football, but between that schedule and the entire coaching staff (or should I say lack of one), ain't gonna happen. I don't care how good Sellers is, Rattler was the best QB talent to come to USC and the NFL experts voting with their draft picks said he was the 7th best QB in the nation coming out of this eligible class, and the O-line/coaching was SO TERRIBLE he still looked like hot dog water all last season. Now tell me where you see that changing this upcoming year? Beamer will not hold anyone accountable and didn't fire anyone from last year (oh maybe he fired the RB coach, big whoop). I hope I am wrong and I have to come on here and eat crow and say "Wow Beamer really surprised me", and "Wow, LaNorris Sellers is the real deal," but unfortunately I don't think I am wrong.
P4 teams should not be allowed to play out of conference games in November, especially FCS teams. Yes, I'm looking at you SEC. Georgia and Alabama play UMass and Mercer respectively in November.
These are teams competing for a playoff spot and play what amounts to a scrimmage at the end of the year, and not only don't get penalized in the rankings for it, but it often benefits them.
Say michigan and Oregon are undefeated going into their November match up and Oregon is ranked 4th and a 1 loss alabama is ranked 5th. Ore/Mich play a great game and michigan wins with a last second field goal. Meanwhile, bama stomps Mercer 62-10 playing their 2nd and 3rd string most of the game. But when the rankings come out the following week, that 1 loss alabma team jumps the 1 loss Oregon team. That is ridiculous.
I'd probably be OK with out of conference games if the opponent is from another P4 or Notre dame.

Even if michigan has one or two losses by then, if Oregon beats them, and it's still undefeated and has a win over Ohio state they should be ranked ahead of a one loss Alabama, regardless of whether or not you're basing rankings on total body of work or what the teams did most recently.

They're still going to have a phenomenal run game with edwards and mullings behind a deep Oline. As long as whoever starts at QB can be productive and make plays when they need him to, they'll be able to compete with anyone. They've only lost 1 regular season game in the past 3 years combined. The team 3 years ago was very different than the team last year. They've shown they can overcome these loses. Georgia lost a ton of starters in 2021 and repeated, so it can be done.

@chrisnipper8573 this realignment stuff is ridiculous. Oklahoma basically controlled the B12 for the past 20 years, but are now maybe the 4th best team in the SEC. Not to mention the end of historic rivalries. They, like the other teams that moved, did it for money and money alone.
OSU will lose a 4th straight to Michigan (not a bold prediction, just a fact). They’ll also lose to Penn State and Oregon, and have a 3-loss season. In an age of college football where cash is king now...best respect that! Second, look what Mike Elko did with the meager resources he had at Duke in a Power 5 conference. @@garyjrsonny still not bold. UGA, Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss are ALL arguably right now in the Top 5. Tennessee is going to be good, but if Nico lives up to the hype then they will be knocking on the door as well. Then you have a revamped well lead Texas A&M team that everyone has forgot about, Mizzou & Oklahoma who everyone agrees now is somewhere in the Top 20. Florida, LSU and Auburn all probably not going to be in the playoffs but will probably all get big wins against some of these other teams. And Kentucky is solid too.

Ohio State is highly overrated. They may be top tier for their conference, but watching them get beat by Missouri I feel exposed them. This coming from a vols fan. Same with Michigan. Michigan wins after stealing plays. Go back to tcu vs Michigan 51 to 45 and the Georgia just stomped tcu's ass. 65 to 7.
I don't know if I would say Ohio St. is overrated, but we have seen this scenario play out in the pro sports many times, maybe more in the old days or in MLB since there is no salary cap, where some rich owner goes out and gets all the best talent on the market and just throws into a pile into a clubhouse. More times than not, it does not work in the pros. Remember the Miami Heat! Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, Not 4,..well yeah in fact it was just 2 and the only reason it was even 2 was because that 1 Ray Allen saved your rear end. All that pitching talent on those '90s Atlanta Braves, 3 HoF starters that whole decade, and legends in the lineup as well, and only one WS win. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out in the college game now.
@steveaustin3125 you make some fair points, but OSU roster wasn’t Frankensteined together like some of those pro teams. A good chuck of the NIL money went to starters already on the team, returning for 1 more yr. So it’s not like an entire overhaul of personalities and culture. Either way, NIL needs some guardrails sooner than later

Bama is not gonna be in the top 3-5 teams in the SEC, but they very well might sneak into the playoffs and win a game. But they can’t contend with a Georgia or a Texas or an Ohio State or an Oregon.
