Great review. I want to thank you for showing us the issue with the zippers. Some other reviewer’s totally ignored it or used jump cuts while others made it sound like a feature.
I’m tempted but I have a Kaidan GR2 and a Geurrilla otherwise I’d have ordered one of these for the weight advantage. I’ve never had any water penetrate and of my GR bags, though, but the Aquaguard zippers are a welcome addition. The FP is nice to have but a waterproof bayou h in a waterproof bag might be overkill. Thanks for reviewing these bags so quickly.
If you have a Kaidan and like it, no reason to buy another GR2 unless you want a different size or color. Same with the Gorilla. Only reason to buy is if you want a different material/style. I actually just traded this GR2 for a Kaidan 2.0 in Coyote. I used to have one and gave it away... then missed it. Bags are so similar, it is really in the small stuff that they're different (though, I still have NO IDEA why the Kiadan V2 GR2 has a handle on the bottom... ugh).
@@Rucking Good trade! Bag regret is pretty normal with all the choices out there, I’ve bought bags back many times and I’m sure I’ll do it again; all part of the fun.
Great video! Just a quick question, is it a limited edition product? I have purchased some limited edition Goruck products before, and they usually have the word 'limited' on them. I don't see it mentioned here.
I don't have an answer, but like you said, they didn't use the term "limited." I think it might be a "wait and see" thing for them. Maybe they learned from the Heritage. That was "limited" at first, now it is a semi-standard line. Likely to happen here if sales are good (at least, that's my take).
Excellent review. I think Goruck got used to the Samurai money when they decided to price this line. Viewed objectively, it's massively overpriced. Let's just be honest about that. Still a good bag? Sure, I don't doubt that.
I returned both the GR1 and GR2 Xpac. The zippers were way to stiff. I also don't understand why they continue to have the rain flap for the quick access pocket, it's unnecessary.
I haven’t really put them or any of my other x-pac bags through any circumstances, they would require very much durability. However, the material is known for its durability, so I have no doubt that it will do just fine and day-to-day use.
wow, just seeing the struggle with those zippers, I'll definitely be staying with my good ole 1000D
They'll loosen up in time. But, yeah, nothing wrong with the classic!

Ha... It is not that bad, but it is there. And, it is way better than the Samurai!
@@Rucking my GR2 26L feels incredibly hard, just put some lube on it. Hopfully that will help.

@@RuckingYes, I think the same. They certainly learned from the Kaidan. Thanks for your reply :)
Which one would you suggest for my first one? I don't use a backpack day to day but i'd like to use it for travel along with starting to ruck.
Sounds like you need to watch this video. Should help answer that question. th-cam.com/video/GIiNnFmpjZE/w-d-xo.html
Will the GR2 version stand on it own with some heavier items on the bottom?

Yeah. Pricing seems a bit strange. Can’t claim I understand it.

Understandable. At the price point, you gotta be happy with it.
What material would you rather have, X pac or heritage?
If I can only have one? Probably heritage. Just a little more classic cool and go anywhere. Thankfully, I get to have both ;)
The Heritage "Field Pocket" also lacked MOLLE so customers complained that should be called "Shadow Pocket" instead.
I think (could be wrong) but shadow lacks the interior organization. So, kinda shadow or FP. 🤷♂️
@@Rucking Nope, it has organisation.
@@cmlhidau Shadow pockets are just shells. No interior zips or pockets. www.goruck.com/products/shadow-pockets
@@Rucking Yes I agree with you on Shadow Pocket,
The Heritage has organisation but no MOLLE,
How does the durability seem?

Black or navy?
Navy.
