So I should just start kissing women on the lips at first introduction, and untie their halter tops from the back, infront of a tv camera leaving them feel about insecure... @@guynorth3277 Hello, i take it you probably didn't expect a response from a 9 year response lol. Anyways, they say the difference between underwear and a swim suit is consent on who you want to see it ;)
CBS television audience got an unbelievable surprise. Gene Rayburn was professional and classy about it. Great host. Richard Dawson was also a great host on the original Family Feud. He is buried in Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Westwood which is the same cemetery as Marilyn Monroe and now Hugh Hefner
Compared to what they show on TV today! Life was more wholesome and respectful back then as well! That's why it was a huge deal to see her underwear only... LOL
I grew up with this show. It was was anything but wholesome. Everyone acted like they’d had a few cocktails backstage (and they probably did; Gene should have worn a lampshade on his head). A lot of the questions were intentionally borderline tasteless, getting a big roar from the celebs and audience. Sexual innuendo isn’t witty. It’s locker room humor. There were just going for cheap laughs.
@humphreygruntwhistle3946 you kidding me those shows compared to today shows . There's nothing but 100% smut on shows today. There's not one new show on TV that I watch nothing interests me it's all crap. I watch all my stuff on TH-cam thank God it's free. Talking about having cocktails backstage? Well at least they didn't do cocaine and opioids and who knows what else compared to today not to mention cuss words and swearing on today's TV. And life was a hell of a lot better back then then it is now in this world the only thing good in this world today is if you are still living and are lucky for that. What do today's kids got to look back on when they are older. Nothing.
@kymarcin That's because in Match Game '73 and part of '74, Gene wore a microphone so to make sure we could hear the contestant in the Super Match, he had to use the thick silver mic and then in the fall of '74 to the end, Gene elected to go with the Sony ECM-41 style like what many game show hosts used in the late 70's.
That theme had SO MUCH energy! It was appropriate for every situation, and it enhanced every moment! It almost seemed to get more intense in those moments when something very funny was happening.
How come Gene didn't have his amazingly long microphone here? At least one other time I saw him use the long telescoping microphone in the retracted position. But he usually had it fully extended for comedic effect. This microphone is a different one of standard length.
Haaaa! You did same thing I did and looked for this as soon as the episode ended. I guess great minds think alike. Are you watching now? The girl playing right now is pretty cute
Thats why i watch alot of old 70s Commercials and The top hit songs of the 70s. You tube is like a time machine . ITs great. the most we had in the 70s was few channels on the tv . It was awfull
Maybe should have worn that mini as a "Sizzler " it was a real thing. It came with a matching , made out of the same fabric as the mini dress undergarment basically panties. Im wearing a pretty awesome print sizzler set in my 1972 6th grade class picture.
Hard to believe this was taped 40 years ago. It hardly seems "antique". It could even get a bit raunchy at times as I recall. Even sitcoms from that era like "All In The Family" are still the most progressive ever made.
was in that the dinger didn't ding in sync with the winner? I own a 4-disc DVD best of match game and this happens. A contestant would get his answer right like for the 5,000 + 600 and the buzzer/ bell dinger wouldn't go off.
My mom told me in 1973... Always wear your underwear in case you're in a car accident or on Match Game.
that was CLEAN underwear.
Pink and very clean.
Gene Rayburn was so charming and goofy😂😂
what fun watching these old shows

Except when he told Greg Morris to get to the back of the bus. ( episode 367, I think. )
I saw this back in the day when I was 12. Sent me right into puberty.
Priceless! My eternal favorite game show!
To this day the legend of the Match Game persists. This is just one of the reasons why.
Gotta love how the cameraman just panicked!
Oh, I miss the 70s
Great show we could all laugh
True. And I also miss the early 2010s when you posted this!!
Gene Rayburn, cool dude.
Probably the last game show I watched other than Jeopardy.
I like how they did random stuff to make her feel less embarrassed :3
I don't think she was embarrassed, she knew all the way what would have happened if leaned over a little. She was just an exhibitionist!
Those were almost like swim suit, nothing embarrassing.
@@guynorth3277 Hello, i take it you probably didn't expect a response from a 9 year response lol. Anyways, they say the difference between underwear and a swim suit is consent on who you want to see it ;)
Five thousand six hundred dollars? That was a year's pay in 1973!
translates to approx. 31 thousand in today's money.
@@alexkotas7486 I was wondering just that .. today's value ..
gene running up behind her trying to cover her didn't help the situation look any better!! haha!!
Gawd, I forgot how great this show was. I think it used to be on after school.
Yes, Joe Blow. It was on after school. I loved it!!
Yeah after school. I watched this and Mr. Rogers
Richard Dawson ROCKIN the 70's moustache!
And the hair of the woman next to him!!

McLean running to hug gene 😂

If you notice closely, Rayburn's mike is bigger in this clip :)
I love rewatching this
That theme had SO MUCH energy! It was appropriate for every situation, and it enhanced every moment! It almost seemed to get more intense in those moments when something very funny was happening.
Geeez...$5K would buy a nice new car in '73
It would buy you 2 cars
brad Kennett Correction, it would buy one really NICE car, or two Datsuns. ;-)
KlunkerRider Very Good..
Cowboybebopeinstein
Bought a new 1974 AMC Gremlin $3286.00 loaded with options
THIS is what made that show so great!
Thank goodness those ridiculous thongs hadn't been mainstreamed yet!
Hey.... nothing wrong with thongs at all😹😸
Oi! I wear thongs every day. More comfortable than regular undies -- even as a small child, I didn't like 'em!
she won enough to buy New undies. lol
I see London, I see France, I see Margie's underpants!!!
How come Gene didn't have his amazingly long microphone here? At least one other time I saw him use the long telescoping microphone in the retracted position. But he usually had it fully extended for comedic effect. This microphone is a different one of standard length.
In the early 70's when the mini skirt was popular, panties were exposed a lot.
😹😸glad skorts were invented...
Lol yes! It was no wonder, skirts were so short. I have tops about that long now.
I dreamed about it, but never saw it. I was 18 in 1970.
When short skirts were glorious and McLean Stephenson was actually funny
Thank God it was the 1970's. If the same scene was videoed today you be lucky to see a G-string or a razor!
Yes, those were some baggy granny panties!
Or a cock.
😹😸😹😸
@@tom1959blue 😬
Razor?
At least her undies were clean. I remember seeing this as a teen, and just busted up!! Margie would be an old lady now.
and you an old man. lol
Granny panties.
@@michelmadaire7953 So is Margie.
Nobody is aging backwards, as far as I know.
Who knew? Thanks for that valuable insight.
Somethings in life never seem to get old.
Love this show!
They literally JUST showed this episode on the 10:30 airing of MG on Buzzr.
Haaaa! You did same thing I did and looked for this as soon as the episode ended.
I guess great minds think alike.

Gene was 56. He died at 81 in 1999.
And Gene says to himself God I love pink panties
After the hug, the woman realized what happened, and was quite embarrassed,
The host is totally hilarious.
Question: If she was wearing pink undies, what day of the week was it?
Jay Leno's mom had a good sense of humor about the situation.
I get it. It’s the heavy jaw thing. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
People were so awesome in the 70s. Wish I could go back in time.

Greatest game show of all time!
If that would have been today there would have been a lot less panties covering things up. 😄

Wow...so the Sizzler perhaps turned into skorts right? Thanks for sharing!
I wore sizzlers too. Pre teen hot pants in 1972 I was 11 years old and got plenty of attention
Gene was a good man..❤️
what happened did the contestants dress rip, did gene have something happen or what
dammit...put this show back on the air!!!
Would not be the same without Gene and some of the other celebrities.
I’d saw Dawson had a bunch of that backstage!

At least she had on clean draws. Hell, at least she had on draws. lol

Nowadays you can see more than this on the evening news. Which is why I watch the evening news.
@19Chuck80 She was wearing a minidress, a popular but unfortunately short-lived item from the 1970s.
hella mini. looks like it didnt fit and maybe came up a bit in the back
I was 18 and luvin' every minute!!
What else could it be?
If that had been the 80's, she would have been wearing a thong, and would have ended up on Oprah!
Why was Gene wearing his coat that way?
Ann was very beautiful ,especially her hair, gorgeous hair and the contestant had beautiful blonde hair.
True!
This is from Episode 54
She's got quagmire's chin
Yep. Giggity giggity.
how old was Gene then?
He was born in 1917 so, he would be about 56.
back in the days when woman were woman, and feminity wasn't frowned upon, and men were men and masculinity wasn't frowned upon
and the likes of charles nelson reilly and paul lynde were more interested in making people laugh than screaming about getting their way.
Get off my lawn!
is that jay leno's daughter?.
His mother.
I missed it... What happened...? 🤔
Peek-a-boo booty @ 0:20
Ann who?
is that woman jay leno's sister? despite that, the show often featured some smokin' babes as contestants.
After seeing this video- Anyone get the license plate on that truck?
You can tell this was a blooper--contestant Margie's underwear was showing! (Luckily it was only for a second or two.)
And that is why I barely got out of high school.
That would cost ya a lot more than 5 grand today.
FUN FACT: Disney's animated classic Robin Hood came out the same year as this episode aired.
@123MrBurg I see London, I see France! HA HA!
That wasn't water in their cups.
Who was the celebrity Ann? She was pretty hot.
Ann Elder
The long skinny Sony microphone hadn't made its debut yet
the following year
Men are gonna be "nice" to her for the rest of her life!
Ah... But is she a woman?
Like Price is Right, where the lady was jumping up and down and popped right out of her top and was NOT wearing a bra.
As Bob Barker was quoted...."she came down and they came on out"

What ??? No hi-fives ??
Good thing g strings and thongs weren’t a thing back then 😂
You may want to hide the kids before watching this video.
Shows from that time were less PC than modern shows.
